Biei in autumn, winter coming”
Staff very friendly and helpful, even thought their English was better than our Japanese. Got the query across every time. Very central to every thing in this little town. Suggest you hire a car before getting to Biei as they close down for the oncoming winter snow early.

Stayed for night in between two towns, was good for the duration we were in. Requested a non-smoking room, however, got a smoking room instead although they said they changed it already.

The staff were very pleasant and the hotel is close to the station. The bed was comfortable but there was an unpleasant odour coming from the bathroom so we slept with the window open. Internet was very slow. The buffet breakfast simple with limited selections but enough for a traveller - perhaps because it was the quiet season (spring). I probably would try somewhere else next time.

Quaint and Charming”
I don' t know why others would go to Biei in late May. It seems like it is the off season. But after the bustle of big cities I do appreciate the slower, simple life of a small, quaint and charming town like Biei. But I was there mainly to see the blue pond (Shirogane), which we did after we checked out. The hotel is so quiet, that there is even a "curfew" - after 11 pm the hotel is locked down. Not that there is anything else you might want to do outside after 11 anyway. There is not much nightlife that I could see. Or that my wife would let me. :-)

Perfect location, just 3mins away from Biei JR Station and the information centre. Although hotel facilities are not new, but the room is spacious and very clean. Also, noise isolation is good too. I stayed for 3 nights, and I haven't heard any noise at all(there're other guests lol). The breakfast is okay. Quite a lot of dishes, and taste good (please remember it isn't a 5 starred hotel). And I found the dishes had some changes everyday. The staffs are also friendly and helpful. Thank you! In short, I'd recommend this hotel.

We have not requested Connecting room but helpful staff arranged it. Helped us to open the middle door. Interior is a bit old fashion but still clean. Spacious room and basic amenities in room. Great local breakfast with Biei Milk provided.

Not worth the money!”
Small and clean with friendly staff but outrageously priced. Hard to imagine they were worth more than $80 let alone double that but it is the law of supply and demand.
