What an upgrade ! ”
It’s been a while since I’ve stayed at the Verona Hotel. It came to me as such a surprise that they have improved. When I stayed there before, the smell was so awful; it smelled like mold and the place was had poor cleaning. My recent stay was terrific. The service of the staff was so friendly and I’ve even received a free spa service (which was excellent by the way). Not to mention the pool was fun and clean. Without a doubt, the next time I come to Guam, I’ll stay at the Verona again. Thank you!! I had so much fun! KK

A peaceful stay with the attractions nearby”
I had a pleasant stay at Verona. The room I booked had a kitchenette and it was nice for a change to do some of my own cooking, all though there were some really good restaurants near by. The bathroom had a large tub, separate from the shower. Lots of space and nice balcony. The air conditioning was very welcoming and efficient after a long day in Guam's tropical sunshine. The decor was a bit dated but the rooms were very clean and in good order. Staff was very helpful, friendly and inviting. Tranquil atmosphere and stellar views of Tumon Bay, the Guam Sunset is a must see! A great place if you plan an extended stay.

Good but needs improvement”
Location - Super convenient cos it's near Kmart, a main stop of the Red Shuttle Staff - Really accommodating when it comes to hotel-related concerns but not reliable when it comes to public transpo (shuttle) Rooms - Rooms are big enough for 2 pax. It also has a good view of Tumon Bay. Our rooms were tidied up every day. But, I noticed that they keep on changing the room slippers every day. I just find it a little wasteful. - It was a little dim at night because the only lighting inside the room are two lamps. Hope they can add more lights inside the room. It's hard to pack your stuff at night when there's minimal light. - Their bathrooms are spacious too. They had hair dryers but it needs a little update because it's (literally) rusty. I would also appreciate the bathroom better if it had a bidet. Restaurant/Food - They offer breakfast buffet for all guests but it's almost the same food every morning. They don't offer room service/food other than the breakfast buffet.

Great view. We never get tired of seeing the view from our room.”
You get a great view of Tumon for the price. The beds are big and comfy. The hotel you can tell is a bit old but I liked it. With a few touch ups this hotel is actually fine. The pool was cleaned regularly. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was okay. Fills the tummy if you're looking to stay in for the morning. The hotel does have a smell to it in the hallways and the wardrobe in our room. Overall, we would stay here again for the price we paid if they addressed the smell.

Very good”
If you do not mind an older hotel its actually Ok. Great location! My closet smelled like strong sour mildew. Did not put my clothes in there. I called the desk, and they said hotel does not have ice machines. Went outside and bought a bag. Good, powerful old school glass enclosed shower. Large room & bathroom. The pool was decent. Looked clean. Old and musty halls. If your a picky person, this hotel is not for you. The restaurant looked promising for breakfast buffet, but my deal did not have that included. Did not eat there. Desk said it was $12. This hotel is for seasoned travelers only. ALL of the staff was super nice. It was quite, with comfortable beds. I will stay again if I can get the same price. Wow! The Beach View from balcony was incredible!!

Nice onsen”
Stayed here on a work trip and primarily picked it to check out the onsen. From the beginning I was very impressed with the staff as the were very responsive when I was emailing to make sure all would be okay for our arrival as we were flying in at 5am and wanted to get straight into our rooms (had to book for the night before). Throughout the day all the staff were very helpful, even if they weren't able to help us locate anywhere that was broadcasting the Bledisloe Cup (rugby union) on tv - not their fault as we couldn't find anywhere with it on either. The onsen is an interesting experience, a westernised version of what you would find in Japan. Still very refreshing though. All in all, I would stay here again if I found myself in Guam

alright, even most of the rooms are renovating ”
We had 6 rooms but most of my friends felt uncomfortable but I felt nice though. Local friends kept telling me Verona is not good, poor management, I wasn't agree during the stay though they have no system for making up room. Eventually, I totally agreed after I checked out and got to Guam airport to check in my flight back home. I can't deny that I am clumsy but there was no reason for Versona front desk kept my passport for 3 days and 2 nights long. It was disaster but I am glad that I had picked a very nice car rental company Andy Car Rental which I will give reviews next moment. They helped to collect my passport to send back to me at airport in less than 30 mins. Thank God! While Verona front desk staff were still asking me to repeat what was happening!! Guess how I desperated with the staff of this hotel!!

Could Be Better”
Internet in the rooms were slow compared to the rest of Guam. It appears all the rooms in two floors of the hotel share a connection from one room. (More connections please). Housekeeping takes forever to clean the room (despite putting a sign on the outside door to Please Make Up Room). When Housekeeping does clean the room, expect a half-ass job (No towel replenishment despite the obvious). Heat in the bathroom water is almost non-existent, door leading to bathroom squeaks and is in dire need of replacement, AC barely has any cool despite being on full blast and is permanently facing the door leading to the Veranda. There's a coffee maker in the room but there is no coffee or coffee filters at least to make coffee that you may have bought for this. Finally, the lobby is not comfortable due to the fact that they do not turn it on despite the heat. Sigh! What a shame, the hotel is in a prime location, it's quiet and safe, it's big, check-in staff were very accommodating and friendly, and the view they had of the beach was breathtaking. I would only stay here again if I did not have any other choice. But if the issues I mentioned are addressed, I would definitely reconsider.

Don't be fooled by the way the building look”
This is just my opinion, the rooms is not comfortable. This is clearly a place in desperate need for upgrading to including the bed, shower, furniture, flooring and windows. The staff is wonderful but the owner needs to slash the price of the rooms into half until upgrades are made. Stop cheating people Verona.

Guam Getaway”
Stay was fine. Most tours do not pick up or drop off at Verona but it is still possible to do so at the Pacific Star located close by.

Ok hotel for budget travellers with breakfast and for a few nights of stay”
Yes the hotel needs renovation and maintenance but for the price of 2 person and its about 500m away from the beach with breakfast this ok for a few nights stay. Comparing with royal orchid, holiday resort, garden villa, pacific star, pacific bay plaza, bayview hotel be sure use your coupons. Pros: -location near kmart but will do shopping at GPO near free shuttle bus stop -Wifi room is fast sometimes needs reconnecting -beach view is awesome Cons: -unstable aircon temperature -not renewing towels -kinda dirty room -bring your own bag -swimming pool shower -funny smell in the hallway -mold smell in the hallway If you really want a good and nice hotel not considering the price go for the -/+ $200/night

Better than expected”
The hotel has a good location, walking distance to KMart. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Wifi ready in the lobby and in our room. Rooms are big and pleasant. Will definitely stay again in this Hotel.

Great location”
It was nice memory in stay at the verona resort because of the close location from city center and shopping center.

Great location!”
Althoug they don't have a good internet and wifi survice, we don't care, because of a great location to a beautiful beach and K-mart. It takes about 5 minutes to the beach and about 10 minutes to K-mart on foot. The most impressive thing in this hotel is great, trememdouls view from this hotel. Every morning you can see a wide blue clear beach and a green hill, the contrast of them makes happy all day. Don't pay for an expensive hotel "TOO" close to the beach, or you will miss a BIG picture of this beautiful view. And also staffs are very friendly and kind. I am happy to choose this hotel. Thank you.

WORST STAY”
Our 3rd time visited Guam. In our last 2 visit, we stayed in Outrigger Hotel. Our 3rd visit which was this trip. We decided to try Verona to save money for our wedding on Nov in NYC. It was a low budget weekend getaway. We just needed some fresh air but we experienced our worst stay in this Resort. 1. Upon checking-in, I requested a King Size but they gave us Single Twin Room. We contacted the front desk and ask if we can transfer but they told us its fully booked but we knew its not. 2. We turned on the AC but there was no freon. Again, we called the attention in the front desk but they didn't transfer us because of the same reason. 3. The blanket smell's bad and the floor wasn't clean so we asked for our room to be cleaned before we left the hotel. 4. We arrived around 11pm and we were expecting they cleaned our room but they freaking did not! 5. In the morning we complained in the reception. The girl promised us, our room will be cleaned but still they did not.

So much upgrades/renovations needed”
The ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and professional, they gave me a room on the 6th floor. For the amount of money that I've paid for the room, wasnt worth it. I should have seen the signs of much needed remodeling and renovations. The odor that welcomes you from exiting the elevator was NOT pleasant. It smell of mold and sewage. The room wasnt even that clean, there were roaches crawling the walls, the twin beds that were provided were old that you sank by just sitting on them, not enough light/lamps and outlets, the shower looked liked it needed more than just clorox to gett the black spots out. The room on the 6th floor was not pleasant, at all. Because I've booked 3 months in advance, thinking that the hotel had major renovations and upgraded prior, I didnt think it was going to be this bad. So I went down to the front desk and ask to change rooms. I didnt even sleep in the room. I had to wait for the following day to change out rooms, which they gave me a room on the 9th floor. So this room on the 9th floor wasn't as bad as the one on the 6th floor. Exiting the elevator still smell of mold and sewage, it also didnt help that the A/C wasnt working in the hallway. The room that they gave me on the 9th floor had better lighting, beds were clean and updated. The bathroom needed alil touch up but it was much better then the last room that they gave me. Other than the A/C not cooling the room fast enough, the 2nd room that they gave me was nicer, cleaner, and comfortable. I would recommend only staying a few nights or less, not a month like what I did.

Bad service from Reception to Facilities”
If other resorts offer you more a little bit than this, you should select that, not this. Bad experience with their Reception staffs who treated Customers (specially a unpolite middle-age women). Unbelievable that fake fire alarms occured 2 times at 2 mid night. Customers got upset. Mc Donald meal bag were replaced my breakfast that I booked Room with breakfast and I must take it at Reception everyday. No safety box in Room. No gym Room. Sum up, completely unsatisfied with this resort and spa.

Keep looking”
Room: mold in the shower, housekeeping only every other day, A/C never could get the room cooler than 80dg although it ran continuously. Found cockroach in our 10th floor bathroom. Very poor lighting in the room..no lights near the bed.no safe and no hair dryer. Hallway carpeting was filthy! Provided useless paper slippers. Facility...Pool was dirty(bottom brown) and the pool area was very unkept, flies everyday buzzing our food in the restaurant, the Buffet cook insisted on cooking fried eggs and pancakes well in advance of need, inspite of few customers, so they were always cold.. There was a live palm in the dining room with multiple dead branches that was obviously not cared for for a long time. The general upkeep of the facility was poor(as most hotels on Guam seem to be). Staff very friendly and helpful!

Don't expect washcloths ”
the 1st night we arrived a hugh roach crawled across our floor. We had wash cloths for 1 day of a 6 day stay. We were constantly asking for them but always told they were in the dryer. The cleaning of the room that they do is to spray something on the floor and pass a swifer. The breakfast buffet was over priced for minimal selection. Walking up the hill to the 24 hour Kmart and getting Little Ceasar's pizza was a better deal. I would not stay there again.
