Great skin ski out location with plenty of awesome features”
We stayed here over the new year period from the 3rd until the 9th. It was fully booked but the hotel is so big you wouldn't have known. The rooms are small and a little dated but they are super comfy and clean. The hotel offers excellent extra that Mord than make up for smaller rooms. First the reception area has an amazing seating area and chill zone that offers free welcome drinks from around 4pm until 6ish. They also have free refillable drink machines in this area and free marshmallow roasting! Great for a cold afternoon after skiing all day. They also offer a free desert selection in that late afternoon in the family/kiddies play area and it's fantastic. The breakfast is extensive with all European and asian food catered for. The staff are amazing and the hotel also offers discounted ski passed at reception. A must try!
Great location for Skiers”
Naturwald is a quirky place! Location is awesome for skiing. Right across from the chair lift at Furano. Front desk staff is super accommodating and friendly. They were the highlight of the hotel! Everybody working very hard! Amount of free "perks" are unheard of. Free snacks, fresh brewed coffee, daily cocktails, daily dessert bar, kiddy games, breakfast buffet, and more! Really quite extraordinary! Facilities are pretty dated, with lobby and room furniture that looks like it came from a thrift store sale. Our room was kept very clean though by an also Super Friendly cleaning staff. Onsen is nice. Three tubs for each sex. Not extraordinary, but very welcome for tired muscles. Hotel restaurant has a crazy big breakfast buffet with good food, but staff were not very friendly or happy. Maybe because the restaurant is set up in the almost windowless basement. Very strange setting. We did not enjoy our one dinner we purchased here. many better options in furano. There are a LOT of children in this hotel. They cater to families and especially young kids. If you can't take some kiddy behavior, you can't stay here. All in all it's a decent value for skiers, just don't set your expectations too high.
Right on the slopes!”
This property is right on the slopes and has all the comfort and amenities you will need. Breakfast was excellent and dinner seemed plentiful (it is buffet style and we instead went outside to eat but would have certainly enjoyed). The front desk would sell you discounted lift passes. There is a gear rental in site but a much better is located near the lifts and you may prefer to use that one. While rooms have nothing to fault we found they lacked some deep cleaning. There was a lot of dust on the top surfaces of lamps and paintings.
Enjoyable stay”
Probably the best location in the Kitanomine area, just next to the gondola station. This aside, I was pleasantly surprised by the attention paid to the various aspects of this hotel and it's probably been the best I've had in Japan so far. To name a few examples, 1. Very courteous and friendly staff who kept saying hi and wanted to make sure you were comfortable. 2. Comfortable samue (basically, linen PJs) provided instead of yukatas to wear in the area 3. Generous pantry area with different items featured at different times of the day (pastries buffet, steamed potatoes, popsicles, even beer!) 4. The shower area in the female onsen had a rack of different shampoos/conditioners for your use, just in case you didn't like the standard ones provided. Such a treat to be able to try something different for your hair everyday! 5. Face sheet masks provided! A stay which really made me feel at home. However, don't think I will get to enjoy such rates once the tourists come back!
Superb location”
I recently stayed at a hotel and had an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. The lobby was beautifully decorated and had a cosy atmosphere. My room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the amenities I needed. The bed was comfortable and the linens were soft and luxurious. The bathroom was spotless and stocked with high-quality toiletries. The hotel's location was perfectly located in front of the gondola.
