Comfy apt in Tokyo”
This was our first visit to Japan, and I was so impressed that this apartment provided everything I needed for my stay in Tokyo. It’s quite easy to reach. From Narita airport, we took Skyliner train to Ueno, and then transferred to Oedo line. The nearest subway station was Ushigome-Kagurazaka (E-05). Check in time was at 3 pm. We came at 1 pm, and thankfully, they let us check in early. We stayed in a triple room on the 4th floor. The room had one double bed and a sofa, with extra blanket and sleeping bag. There was a washing machine, complete with detergent, but no dryer, so we needed to dry our clothes in balcony. There was a drying cloth rack as well. There was an induction stove, a fridge, a microwave, kitchenware and utensils. The bathroom only had a shower, no bathtub. All instructions on electronic devices were in Japanese, such as AC, TV, shower, toilet, stove, and washing machine, but we found a guide book in English on how to use these devices, or else, just use google translate. The room was very clean. I felt comfortable staying here for 4 nights.
Family room was great!”
While the outside looks a bit outdated, the inside of the family room was a very positive surprise, clean and with all the facilities and space needed for 4 persons. Only within minutes walking of the metro line and local supermarkets. Would stay again!
Great Experience”
My family and I had a great experience in this hotel. Size of room was perfect for a family of 4. And facilities inside the hotel and room was perfect. As for the location, it was a struggle in the beginning but once we figured out the transportation, it got easy because there were multiple train stations around us. Area was nice and quiet. And lots of convenient stores around.
Decent hotel for what you are paying for”
I spent 5 nights in the female dormitory. I was worried about the cleanliness and comfort because it was a very cheap room but everything was okay. The beds are cleaned everyday unless you leave your stuff there. The toilet and shower rooms were also clean. You can always borrow new slippers and bath towels from the lobby. The stations are in the walking distance and you can make it to Shinjuku-Shibuya area quite fast. One thing I didn't like is how hot it was inside the bunk bed. It would've been nice to adjust it by myself. Overall, I would recommend this place for its cheapness and location.
OK for the price/location”
I stayed for 5 nights in the female dorm on the first floor (behind the reception). There’s 18 beds in one room and the bathroom/showers are located inside. There’s barely any space to place luggage so everyone lined it across the entire wall. There are small lockers to put your valuables, but it doesn’t fit a laptop/iPad, just small items like a passport. It was pretty clean, except one sink got clogged with hair since there’s so many guests sharing the same sink/blow drying their hair over it. It’s self check-in, they email you instructions so it’s very easy to get in/out. I think it’s like north Shinjuku so if I missed the last train I had to walk like 30-40 minutes from Shin-Okubo or Nichome. 10ish minute walk to Ichigaya Station (I usually took this stop) or 6 min walk to Ushigome-Kagurazaka. Overall, it’s an ok location if you can get a good price. Good price meaning less than $40 USD/night for a dorm bed.
