Rayong Province hotels & places to stay

My wife and I booked this through Agoda. We got it for almost 50 % cheaper than if we had booked direct with the resort. So Do not book direct with them, never ever...they won't even match the Agoda price if called direct...I tryed...what can I say, they are silly like that.. Anyway the resort is the only one to have their own office and check in counter at the pier. This is really good ! No need to get harassed by all the local crooks who will try to sell you super expensive speed boat tickets because they have their own boat as well. Basically they will check you in and transport you right to the foot steps of the hotel. No sweat. The resort itself it top notch. No questions asked, much better than all the other places we've seen in the area. The rooms are clean, 4 stars hotel like. It's all there. The garden is superb too. No need to request to be by the sea. You are close enough. The pool is clean and it's a good alternative to the sand. The beach is nice, white and clean, and has enough privacy. It's location is in my opinion the best of the island. It has it all there. The included breakfast (only on agoda, if not it's extra $$$) is great. One of the best I have seen in Thailand. I would definitely return there. It's by far the best value for money, the best resort, the best everything. If you book direct then, it becomes way too expensive, so don't forget, only book on line. The only downer was the fact that they decided to implant their work shop right in the middle of the resort....which means you get to hear a bit to often some work and constructions noises, a NO NO !!! But other than that, yup, great place go for it you will love it !!

My husband and I were passing through bangkok over the weekend and wanted to treat our daughter and her husband to a beach trip that would be a quick easy travel to a place with white sand beach and nice accommodations. We picked up a car in the airport and drove to rayong. There we checked our bags at the pier with the hotels concierge and from that point we were treated so well. The facilities were excellent. The buffet breakfast was very good at the restaurant located with a beautidul beach view. The grounds are beautiful. The fact that there is a private beach is an added luxury to this resort. If the noise and people of the beautiful Sai Kaew beach gets to be too much you can just retreat to the private beach or one of the 3 pools on the grounds. My only complaint is the price for an extra bed for our single daughter tracing with us is quite high! Everything else was excellent! I definitely would recommend this resort and will be Back

The location of the hotel on the best beach on Koh Samet together with great staff and very good restaurant made this a wonderful visit. We stayed in a beachfront room which in my opinion is the best choise there although a bit pricy maybe (but not compared to the other two hotels on the same beach). Every night, the restaurant was moved to the beach which was very appreciated and romantic. The beach is very nice and the water is calm. We also stayed on the east coast of Koh Samet and there was bigger waves and not as child friendly as Ao Prao beach. The hotel has a familiar feel of it. The only downside is if you reserve a room category that is "far" from the beach, then there are some stairs to climb. We will definitely come back to Lima Coco!

This resort is a cluster of cabins carved into the side of a hill. It's 4 star but the staff are 5 star. It really is a unique experience. The setting is on the beautiful private beach shared with 2 small resorts. U can use the amenities at either resort because they are the same company. From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty, welcome Drinks, and staff that take care of every need, The restaurant has fantastic variety of Thai food and farang food. You have your own personal waiter that stands by and fills your glass, offers u what u need as you need it. I was impressed. And the staff is genuinely happy and caring. Not like some Thai resorts where the smiles are not genuine. Really enjoined the stay. The hotel rooms were really inexpensive for what you get and where it is. I paid approx $100 USD per night during low season. This is the best value on the island. U get 4 star comfort, 5 star service, and private beach with stunningly charming surroundings (the natural surroundings spill into the resort making it really special). The prices in the restaurant are a bit expensive for thailand ($7-12 USD for a meal) but with that said you do get fantastic food it's still a good value because the food is top notch and the view from where u eat is 10/10. Also this resort is about 10 minute taxi from the main area of the island. It's nice because it's away from the noise and crowds. It's seclude and private and you could enjoy days here without leaving. Especially if it's a romantic getaway with relaxing in mind.

hotel at the far end of the beach. check in was easy, staff were friendly, breakfast buffet was fresh and lots to choose from. could not login to the wifi from the user/pass they gave. at checkout, we waited for about an hour for the boat to come to take us back to rayong, but one of the hotel staff was nice enough to wait with us the entire time and brought us free water. will stay again.

We enjoyed it. There was a group of people there one evening and they let them sing karaoke in the only restaurant they have. It was blaring. I asked to have it turned down as the restaurant is really long and open to the outdoors. We were at the opposite end as far as you could get from the stage and it was still blaring. One guy wasn’t all that bad ;), but the rest were not. You had to scream to have a conversation. It was only one evening though. The buffet was delicious. I like the pool and the beach was cleaned up. It was honestly the only small segment of beach not filled with styrofoam and other junk. They really need to manage that in Rayong. They had sand fleas around too. It was a great room. The bungalows were booked, but if we went back - we’d try to get one of them. Nice staff. They were more environmentally friendly in how they were setup than a lot of places in Thailand. Two thumbs up :).

The resort has private white sand beaches, from which you go snorkling, canoeing, or just relax and enjoy the peace. It is only about 20 minutes by speed boat from Rayong Baan Pae pier. The resort does not have many villas, and so affords privacy for the guests. Would recommended to enjoy the sunset at the bar. The restaurant meals are good and large portions, plus a nice breakfast buffet. The hotel staff came from friendly welcome and departure by speed boat. The water is crystal clear at the beach, and we enjoyed just lazing about at the beach. They provide complimentary snacks in the afternoon, which was a welcome surprise to us. The swimming pool water temperature was a little too warm for me personal preference, but the sea was nice and refreshing.

Having decided to get a speedboat from the mainland to the island, it turned out to be the best idea. We were dropped off on the beach outside the hotel, with friendly staff to take our bags. Check in was a breeze. Please note though, 500baht is needed as a deposit for the room key but is fully refundable on departure, as long as you still have your key! We had a bungalow with a sea view and it was great. The view, the cleanliness, the air conditioning! The only real small disappointment was the shower. Whilst it worked, it wasn't very powerful or hot. The restaurant was slightly overpriced compared to places in the town, but then you are staying in a decent hotel, with a great view. Meals were costing around £15 in total, including drinks, so not too bad. If you went into town to eat, you can add 400baht onto the bill to start with to cover the return taxi, Breakfast was great, with a good choice of fruit, cereal, Thai food and freshly made omelettes. The location of the hotel, again, I thought was great. 15 minutes in a taxi to town so not deserted, but so quiet and relaxing, with its own private beach.. There were plenty of fish to be seen aswell and I enjoyed snorkelling there. Samet town, to me, was similar to a Cornish fishing town, only with different sounds and smells. The people were friendly and more than helpful. I went to the main beach in town, but after the quietness of the hotel beach, it was slightly overwhelming. If you are into your watersports though, this is the place to come. Parasailing, banana boats, jet skis, the lot From the hotel, we booked an evening speedboat ride to cover snorkelling and the sunset. It cost 400baht each and was well worth the money. The speedboat was equipped with all the snorkelling gear needed, drinks and fresh fruit. The only downer to the trip was the sunset! There was too much cloud and didn't really get any good photos.

A beautiful resort in a well maintained lush tropical garden. The restaurant serves great food for acceptable prices. The fact that I gave three stars for “facilities” is only of the quality of the WiFi service, which is slow and interrupted frequently. In fact it’s only suitable for sending short e-mails and messages most of the time. The hotel beach itself is rocky and not good for swimming but the beaches of the neighboring hotels are good and be used. The staff is very kind and efficient and speaks English, however a strange and disappointing incident happened to me. When I left my chair and table at the beach to bring back the hotel towel I forgot to pick up my sunglasses from the table (very cheap ones luckily). When I almost reached my room I realized this and walked back to the beach. On my way I ran into the waiter who was bringing my plate and empty coconut to the kitchen. I asked him about my glasses and he said that he didn’t see them. It was max three minutes after I left

Hotel and room are very nice. Love the room service part since the price is the same as a restaurant. Convenient and tasty food. Was upgraded to a standard room with a couch and table so was very nice of the staff. The room tempeture was nice facing west. One thing i did not like was the fact that i had to type the internet password over and over when i turned off my ipad. Autentication is via browser so not very convenient. Specially for iphones when you wish to receive notifications but can not when the phone is turned off. Would get them when i turned it on and put the password again. Apart from that, i would stay in this hotel again.

No cons only pros this hotel is Brand new everything is clean the sheets and bed are so comfortable and soft the breakfast is the best I have ever seen in a hotel in the world what ever food you want they have it and 7 star all clean and tasty the staff can't do enough for you The pool on the 29floor is a must see and the bar restaurant on the 30th floor has the views like you have not seen before everything about this hotel is first class will stay every time we visit Rayong we have family there so we visit often

The hotel was beautiful and a decent price considering Rayong is an expensive area. The pool was gorgeous and not too crowded. The hotel is also across from the ocean and the beach is very soft with very little rocks. However, my group had car trouble and were completely stranded at the hotel. There was absolutely nothing to do after dinner other than swim. There wasn't even a 7-11 nearby for us to go and get some snacks or drinks. The restaurant was okay but way too westernized. We wanted some good authentic thai seafood but had no transportation options to go to a restaurant. Basically, it's a great location if you have your own method of transportation to leave if need be.,

This hotel was one of the best deals I've ever stayed. It's on a steep hill which makes it difficult upon arrival and/or elderly and limited mobility people but staff helped me upon arrival and departure. It's on a quiet and beautiful beach yet only a few minutes away to the busy Sai Kaew Beach for night attraction seekers and you can have all you need within walking distance. The hut was charming with relatively new, very comfortable and clean bed unlike many 2-3 properties, simple but nice shower, fridge and side tables with flat screen TV which I didn't need. The only inconvenient thing is that there is no house phone so if you need anything you have to go down to the reception and this scared me a bit when the water pressure of the shower got down one moment. There's no wardrobe inside but you can hung outside so it will be handy to take cheap hunger to hook on curtain rail. The restaurant offers variety of food at a very reasonable price unlike in many Thai island and there were 2 more restaurants and bars right next door if you prefer more variety. All the staff was nice and friendly except the man sitting at the restaurant. You may hear the music from the bar next door if you are close to the beach but I didn't hear any as my hut on a higher end. I'd definitely go back when I need a good get away. Good WIFI in the room, restaurant and even on the beach. I bought AIS sim card which had strong coverage in remote area so no problem at all during my entire stay. Very reasonable and an ideal getting away!

The hotel was new, clean, and good for stay. Ao Pai location was beautiful and the Jeap restaurant at the front was nice. It was a bit far to get from our room to the beach and a bit of climbing steps but we didn't mind. ***However, my partner got bitten by a stray dog belongs to the paddle board renter (S.U.P) who is just next door to the hotel*** They hove more than 10 dogs and they didn't vaccinate all of them. My partner got bitten by a mother dog who just gave birth to new puppies when he was walking on the beach in the morning. The hotel staff KNOWS about this problem but unfortunately they cannot do anything as the dog's owner own the land next to this hotel. Hotel staff and restaurant waiters/waitresses came to us and said some of them got bitten too. Local police has a record of people complaining about dog bite cases from this owner, same as local clinic/health centre on the island. When we got back from the clinic, another couple got back from a day and night trip to the main land to Rayong Hospital treating DOG BITE FROM THE SAME DOG WHO BIT MY PARTNER. They were from Sweden and his dog bite was worse than my partner's. He said he was just walking on a beach and it came at him. Anyone walking on the beach will need to walk pass this shop unfortunately. So be careful. Rabies is worst than actual dog bite - a painfully long process of 5 vaccines needed (or 7 in some cases), even more pain when we got back to Australia. I'm writing this to warn people who's going to stay there. The hotel was nice as I described above. If you go, be careful and stay away from stray dogs nearby. Big thank to hotel staff and restaurants who were friendly and helpful to us, although they were not trained to deal with confronting situation but they are there to help (as I said, they have these cases before).

The location of this hotel is opposite the Rayong Resoirt and Spa Retreat, who organised our boat ride over to Le Vimarn Cottages & Spa. The convenience was perfect, on arrival the beaches were immediatly noticed to be perfect, which white fluffly sand and no trash/polution as can be seen on some other area's. The staff were fantastic, and very friendly - On leaving one fellow even gave a bundle of flowers to say goodbye. The restrants perfect, rooms awazing, and I loved the outdoor shower! (dont worry it's still private)

I took a long weekend away with my teenage son and had a great time. The room was spacious and had a great view. The Hotel is not advertised as 5 Star Hotel but it fell right in line with it's 3 star rating. We had a great time in the huge swimming pool and had a drive out into Rayong. Food was great when we ordered room service. I would recommend this place if you want some time out away from the madness. The beach is not so good but we did some successful shell collecting :-) Overall I had a good experience here.

The Mae Pim Resort Hotel was a great hotel straight across the road from the beach. Scooter hire just down the road 200 meters with a 7/11 staff were very helpful when they could, but maybe would help if someone could speak a bit more English. Staff even dropped us of at the bus station 18 kilometres away. Great place to eat is The Kitchen about a Kilometre heading back to Rayong.

I had stayed at Samet ville a number of years ago and had enjoyed my stay there then as well as this time. I even recognized one of the friendly staff who is still working there. Nice quiet beach and can walk 15 minutes down the road to see sunset. Was able to make it on time for the 10 am ferry at Ban phe pier after taking an overnight bus from Chiangmai to Rayong. My viewpoint is if you are friendly and try to learn the Thai cultural norms, you can have a great time in Thailand. Looking up "Thai cultural values" online can be a big help to understanding and will make your stay more enjoyable! Having a positive attitude helps a lot. If you look for things to complain you will not only make things miserable for others but also ruin your holiday, and what's the point of spending your hard earned dollars and flying a long distance to do that : )

I really liked the room we stayed in, the room is quiet narrow but very modern and clean. We did not eat here so cannot grade the food. We arrived late at night so was checked in via security so did not really deal with the staff as well but security were very helpful. This part of Rayong is very quiet and a long way from the bars and restaraunts but we had a car so was not a problem for us. I would stay here again.

We LOVE Summer Day Beach Resort!!! After spending a week whizzing around Thailand, we finally arrived on Koh Samet for 2 days of pure rest and relaxation and Summer Day Beach Resort was the perfect place for this! We chose to hire a speedboat from Ban Phe Pier which cost 2500baht return for 2 people. The journey took about 15 minutes and the boat dropped us on the beach right outside the hotel! Perfect! The hotel only has 6 rooms and all are just a few feet from the beach. We stayed in room 4 which offered the best view. The room was fantastic. Large, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Each room also has a small terrace with deck chairs which were lovely for the evening - we enjoyed sitting out and watching all of the activity along the beach. The beach is perfect. Soft, white sand and gentle, clear blue sea! It is a popular beach and is busy but not crowded and there are boats coming and going all the time so there is plenty to see! The hotel has a bar and serves food right on the beach. The menu is varied, affordable and very tasty! The only downside is, they stop serving food at 7:30pm and the bar closes at 9pm. However, if you do wish to eat/drink later, there are plenty of other hotels, restaurants and bars just a short stroll down the beach. Breakfast was included in the room rate and there was a good selection available. The service was excellent, although a lot of the staff didn't speak English and we speak very little Thai. They also called up the mainland to help arrange our return journey to Ban Phe which was very helpful! Sadly, we did not see the island of Koh Samet, opting to stay on the beach for the duration of our stay, but Summer Day Beach Resort made us feel like nowhere else existed! We were in a little bubble of paradise for 2 days and it was wonderful! Thank you Summer Day Beach Resort - we love you and can't wait to come back soon!

We were very pleased that we chose the island to be our honeymoon destination. It's only a few hours drive from Bangkok. And when we arrived there, we truly did enjoy the breathtaking views of the sea. The white sandy beach was clean and we were able to swim in. The best part for us was the privacy of the location. You can only hear the sound of the sea and of your company with some odd crickets and geckos noises. We loved the bungalow we stayed. It was not very fancy but very comfortable indeed. Though the bathroom and toilet could be cleaned better. We spent most of our days in the little open-air hut in front of our bungalow by the sea doing nothing but relaxing. The staff there was friendly and willing to help. The food was delicious and not too pricey. Definitely recommend this place for those who seek relaxation and escape from busy life.

We spent just under a week at Pandora and we can't speak highly enough about it. Normally I'm not one for writing reviews but this is a fairly new resort and I thought I should do my bit to spread the word about this place. We have been to Samet a few times before and generally stay in places that are priced in a similar bracket and I've got to say this is by far the best standard of room I've ever stayed in at that price. The rooms are incredibly spacious with good AC, that actually stays on when you leave the room unlike most places, and the bathroom had a great shower and was spotless. The living room had another sofa bed although we just used as a sofa, a great flat screen TV, local sattilite TV and a DVD player for those nights you just want to curl up after a long day at the beach. I wouldn't normally review the minibar but it needs a mention, I say minibar it's a full size fridge stocked full of everything you could want and we compared the prices some of the stuff in there was cheaper than the local 7/11. The resort itself has a fantastic pool, you have to have your picture done in the little windows, and a well stocked bar. The bar staff are really friendly and the food served is to a very high standard, they do a great fry up to cue the hangovers and the Thai food is just as good. The closest beach is a few minutes walk away and we almost had the beach to ourselves, it's as picturesque as the main beaches but without the hundreds of speedboats and jet skiers flying past. It was the perfect place to relax for a few days. There is a bit if building work going on but I've got to say it didn't once disturb us, most of the work we saw was being done by hand so the isn't really an excessive noise, this resort is going to be one of the best on the island and we will certainly be visiting again.
