Where to stay in Iwate Prefecture
Iwate Prefecture hotels & accommodations
The room was reasonably sized, I could open my luggage wide on the floor. about 5-min walk from the West Exit of Morioka Station (just walk straight and there is a side walk between the buildings, walk past Round 1, an entertainment building.) I took a longer walk along the road where there were no stairs, so I didn't have to carry my huge luggage up and down stairs. T...
The hotel is located just across the street from the JR Morioka station, I don't need to rush to catch my early morning Shinkansen to Tokyo. My room was on the 11th floor and I had an excellent view of Mt Iwate. The hotel also has an excellent public bath. The complimentary breakfast also excellent. Overall the hotel is excellent.
We spent one night here at the end of a road trip, and chose it because we had earlier in the week spent the night at the Metropolitan in Sendai and found it worked well for us. I have to say up front, though, that they are not really set up for people who can't read kanji. My Japanese is fair enough and I was able to communicate with staff, but since I don't read ka...
spacious for a hotel in Japan and good breakfast. I do recommend my friends to stay in Daiwa Roynet also because the considerate and efficient staff, who kindly and effectively helped us with the trolleycase problem, which would be over their responsibility. Thank u again!
The room was very comfortable and clean, although, I did have a problem with checking in, they charged me another 50 dollars for another person, i mustve missed that in the booking price.
Semi Double Room was tiny, only had a hand width allowance in the walkway after opening up my medium sized luggage fully. Toilet was such that I could spit into the sink while on the toilet seat. However, room was clean and a basic breakfast (bun/crossiant and a drink) was provided for free. How to get there from JR Morioka With stairs: Head to Fesan B1 and take the ...
This was our first time trying this chain of hotels and it exceeded our expectations. It is really affordable with reasonably good amenities and great staff. The breakfast was also tasty and decent.
We booked 4 rooms for 3 nights here. The rooms were clean and located in good location. Walk 8 minutes to train station. Many restaurants located near this hotel.
This hotel locates in the middle of forest. There is virtually nothing around it. This environment seems a negative factor at first, because it takes long time to get there from anywhere. You cannot explore casually after you checked in due to the isolation. However, the location gives you lots of comfort. The highlight of the hotel is hot spring. There is only o...
i love this hotel. even though a bit far from train station, but the room was superb! i love my view. facing Kitakami river. might choose this hotel again in the future
It was fine. My problem was that not reading the the booking well, I got one bed for me and my 10yo son whose not too tiny. We survived but next time I won't book in Japanese or study hard to get better. The hotel was good.
this was the most expensive room of our trip (14 different hotels around japan) but it was also the largest and the most comfortable. (avg price at all hotels was night and this hotel cost $205/night so not too much more expensive than much lesser hotels). we stayed two nights. we were travelling on motorcycles and the staff provided us with a safe place to park the...
As usual, they don't allow anyone up to the hotel room that isn't booked. Which is weird compared to the US.
I probably should have paid more attention before booking, but the room I got was smaller than the standard rooms in most business hotels in Japan. Location is quite good as it is only 2-3 mins away from JR Morioka station. I like how it has a laundry facility too, and they supply the detergents.
the onsen is good but too far from room
Staff is very nice.
Ayami was a great host, she prepared our sumptuous dinner and breakfast. We forgot to take our stuff n she personally drove to the ski resort to return our items back to us, twice! Not to forget, just outside the house there is a super cute and playful dog...Ollie!
The location of the hotel caused significant confusion as there are two Toyoko Inns in Morioka, one called Toyoko Inn Morioka and one called Toyoko Inn Morioka Ekimae. These are 3 blocks apart and both near the Railway Station, but they are not differentiated on the Website so we went to the wrong one. This must be a common occurence as staff gave us a copied map sho...
Just fine. Fully satisfied my expectations. This is a chain of budget hotels, and is well-run, clean, and well located for travelers. I was able to check my luggage at the desk after checkout, and pick up at the end of the day.
Excellent choice for location near station and staff most helpful. Would stay again if in area. Corner twin room spacious for Japan.
We stayed for 3 nights with teens. It was super service. The reception assisted us with our day to day plans and we had free bus shuttle. The osen was clean and you had 3 options. If you are after tradition, gold star service & traditional Japanese cuisine.. book this place!!!
the room furniture was quit old. the dinner buffet was not good as i expected. the onsen was in standard quality but not worth traveling to try.
We loved it. It was perfect and it was right at downtown. We went to a bar there that had the best drinks we've had in Japan.
They was 3 hotel link together, so can enjoy 3 hotel onsen, roses onsen for lady. Free entry to rose garden and can enjoy the walk to the waterfall.
though far from mizusawa esashi station, the hotel was near to restaurants and other establishments. their buffet breakfast is very good!
A relatively new hotel in town, Folkloro is a good base if you plan to spend a few days in Kamaishi and explore the vicinity. There's a tourist information centre on the first floor, just outside the main entrance. The next door Sea Plaza and Sun Fish Kamaishi is a good place to stock up on local Kamaishi seafood products and souvenirs. It's a pleasant 15-minute strol...
A bit far and out of the way.
Cheap and convenient to station plus several Family Marts, many restaurants and a Daiso 100 Yen store within walking distance. The hotel room was actually very clean but the carpet was dirty in the hallway , fresh paint was needed and the bed spreads were kind of worn looking. However, we were comfortable and slept well. We enjoyed the simple breakfast of yogurt, cr...
We stopped over in kitakami on our way to tokyo from Hokkaido. The hotel is just next to the train station, super convenient. The room.is big by Japanese standard. And the morning breakfast is good . There are couple of izakayas in front of hotel for dinner at night .
Nice and big Hotel with performance show at the lobby 8PM, Variety and good quality of food in the dinner buffet. Good outdoor onsen. Very helpful staff.

I had 3,5 hours sleep in the previous 2 days, so I immediately crashed upon touching the bed, and woke up before the sunrise around 5 AM. Best sleep of my life, would recommend!

The location of the hotel is not that far from Kitakami station, it's aroun 5-10 minutes walk. There's a convenient store (lawson) nearby. The price of this hotel is also cheap enough. The downside is I got quite a stinky room. Probably it's the smell of odour.
As usual, they don't allow anyone up to the hotel room that isn't booked. Which is weird compared to the US.

Pro- Clean and comfy bed and room. Friendly staff. Well-equipped with everything you need (you even get toothbrush and razor for free). There's even a small Japanese restaurant on the 1st fl. Economic price for a nice station hotel. Con - Public bath (onsen) is for men only. It's a little far from the station comparing with other station hotel nearby but still in prop...

The hotel is just across the opposite side of the JR train station. It is also conveniently located for access to the Kitakami river where the cherry blossoms are. Walk over to the other side of the train station, you can find nice little local Japanese restaurants. Most of them do not speak English well but the restaurant staffs are very friendly and make you feel ...
We were so pleased with our stay at this lovely home in Hiraizumi. Our English-speaking hosts made sure that we were comfortable and provided helpful directions to the places that we wanted to see. They picked us up at the train station and provided transportation to some of the sites that were too far to walk to. The Japanese breakfasts prepared by our hostess were...
this hotel were one of the best place i've ever had. me & my friends were came early to put our luggages, and take a walk around geibikei. the staff were very helpfull and has so many infos about tourism place around there. we talk much about Indonesia and Japan, such a great memory. we also had koucha (welcome drink) which is so tasty ! the staff were very kind, hel...

¦e came here for cherry blossom in late April 2014 and staying in Toyoko Inn in the great choice cos' it's close to both the station and the cherry location (along the river). The room is clean and tidy and fully equipped despite of small size. We have a great view of cherry river from the room window also. The only little confusing thing is: check-out time is not clea...
It's about 15~20 min walk from the railway station, and there is a 24 hours Lawson convenient store with ATM right across the street. The room is very cozy, the facilities are moderate and the breakfast is simple western style buffet but good enough for travelers. The staff are very nice, the only defect is they don't speak English...As I need the accommodation certifi...
Comfortable but facilities quite old. Private onsen and public onsen available. The public onsen has both indoor and outdoor options. Dinner and breakfast were good.
The bed is unexpectedly soft, but that’s really the only pro. The carpet is worn and dirty, rooms smell. Even the Rooftop sento was disappointing, it is not possible to see the view.
This Ryokan is a real value for money. The food was awesome. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. One issue to note that they do not accept credit card. It is cash only. However, this is not mentioned in booking form. If one decides to pay at the ryokan but does not have cash could be in potential trouble.
The hotel just a croos Kitakami station. Easy to go Morioka by shinkansen. Good breakfast and staffs.
The room was very comfortable and clean, although, I did have a problem with checking in, they charged me another 50 dollars for another person, i mustve missed that in the booking price.

Free breakfast, closed to JR station, spotless, and great service. Incredible value for money!

Very nice service, the hotel even took me for a wonderful guide tour after I check out. Even though they can't speak english well, but I could feel the warmest service from them We had an excellent trip and experience with them

The staff were exceptional. From communicating with them via e-mails and in person, they made sure our needs were met. This ryokan specializes in cooking ingredients from the local farms: wild game, exotic vegetables picked from the mountains, and excellent pickled dishes! We loved all the food they served us.
