Nice Hotel Near Unkai Terrace”
This is a nice quiet hotel with friendly staff. The location is great as it's only about 10-minute drive to the Unkai Terrace gondola station. The staff was friendly, but we didn't really use the facilities so I can't comment on that.

Great location for skiing”
Stayed here after a day of skiiing at Tomamu. It is really close to the resort, only 10 mins driving at most. There was a nice restaurant within walking distance at night. Was a nice place to rest.

They don't have non-smoking room, so we took a smoking room. The room and toilet were clean. Everything is great except for the dinner which we had added on the spot without asking them what are the charges. We have 3 adults with 2 children, 10yrs old and 7yrs old, and a toddler, 18 months old, they charged us for 6pax, 9720yen. Charging 4 or 5 pax will be more reasonable. With this charges if you plan to go for Unkai Terrace during summer, I will suggest you take Hoshino Resort Tomamu Tower which include coupon for breakfast and Gondola for free.

It is a budget hotel and can be considered if budget is a constraint and u are not particular with the room size and facilities (eg appliances like kettles are centrally kept at the corridor). It is just about 5km from Unkair Terrace but u need to carry your luggage up a stair (abt 1/2 storey). The hotel is not 24 hour manned. For early check out, u have to deposit the key at the counter.

Pros: near to tomamu ice village, provide shuttle bus to tomamu ice village Cons: cottage is full of gas and burning smell. We requested to swap to another cottage room but being told the other 2 is not working well too. No choice we have to move to room without refund the price difference. Old facilities and NO AIRCON IN ROOMS ”
A bit dubious as they said they didn't need our passports for check-in. Rooms had strong smoke smell even though we chose non-smoking rooms. Facilities are really old. Worst of all is there is no aircon in the rooms at all and we had to use a fan during summer..

Solid choice”
I have seen some reviews of this place that were less than complimentary, but my in my experience it was a solid place to stay. The hotel is located a little ways from the ski area at Tomamu, but the rooms and common areas were clean and presentable, the breakfast served each morning was good and the staff was very accomodating. Is this a 5-star hotel? No, but for the price paid, a very decent place to stay.
