Reasonable”

Consider the location and good meal provided. it was ok with the price we paid. However, im not sure if we weren't meant to sort the Tatami ourselves and the room was slightly dusty. They couldn't understand English and it was hard to communicate. But overall, it was a good stay.

Good outdoor Onsen”

Location is a bit far, but is worth it as the outdoor Onsen is fantastic. You need to pre-book dinner. Otherwise, you might have to drive to the nearest town for dinner as there is no restaurant open after 7pm nearby.

Old building at remote area”

Hotel located at a kinda remote area (we traveled during winter time, solely rely on public transport only) but the hotel provide shuttle service, so going to the hotel wasn't too big of an issue. There are indoor and outdoor Onsen available, but the facility is kinda old (there is leaking from the ceiling and the tile looks kinda... moldy?). But the staff was very friendly, and they provide free shuttle service to Blue Pond (definitely a big plus!)

Best value for money, location, cleanliness and food”

It has free shuttle bus to/from hotel - Biei/Asahikawa Station. And also to/from Blue Pond. Shiregano Waterfall just nearby the hotel, only about 1-2 minutes walking distance. We booked a room package with Kaiseki Dinner and Breakfast. And it's so delicious. Perfect dinner and breakfast! Friendly staff and it has Onsen and Japanesse style room. The Japanesse style room is perfect! We can see the Shiregano Waterfall's Bridge from our room. Definetely will stay here again if we visit Biei next time.

Awesome meal and onsen”

Superb indoor and outdoor onsen and good meal (dinner set is comes in satisfactory portion and buffet breakfast with choices of western style and local delicacies). Cons: Visible wear off of furniture, and heater-in-room can be auto-off at 4am. Side note: I wasn't sure if the tap water is consumable, so I get the refill from the water dispenser in the onsen changing room.

2 night stay”

The hotel was quite old and managed by mostly uncles. They were very friendly and helpful though . The room size was ok for 2 adult and 2 children. The toilet came with a stench which quite turns us off. Onsen was acceptable. Kaiseki dinner wasn’t fantastic and breakfast was very normal. Probably had compared with one we stayed in Lake Toya and it was totally different experience.

Nice dinner and breakfast! Worth the money”

Pleasant stay with nice breakfast and dinner. U need to inform them what time (few timings to choose, 6pm, 6:30pm or 7pm) u want to have dinner. It has indoor and outdoor onsen, but i think the water was abit hot.. Rooms are spacious and this hotel has a mini entertainment area with those claw-toy machine where my hb managed to grab one cute hamster soft toy! Location wise: it’s near blue pond and the waterfall.. overall i think this hotel is good compare those hotel at Lake toya..

The location is not good. No any restaurants and convinent store within 15 minustes drive area. Better to reserve dinner if you book this hotel. The room is large enough for two people, a bit small if you are in 4. The facilicate is old, classic Japanese traditional onsen hotel. General, very good with this priece.

3.2km to blue pond. Very bad transportation. -Need to take taxi in and out cost around 5600 yen (20km) per trip. -Shuttle bus heading to Asahikawa is provided however no luggage is allowed to bring along.

Everything was excellent, except for...”

Everything was brilliant about my stay - the Japanese styled room, the onsen, the Kaiseki meals!! And really appreciate the night trip to 清池 the blue pond that was included in the payment... but unfortunately the bathroom in my bedroom stank really badly (I stayed on the annex side). Apart from this, everything else was perfect.

Great place for onsen (hot spring) but with a little old facility, the hot spring is very nice and relaxing. Went here in early Feb and the snow is really beautiful. Good breakfast and if you want to have dinner, remember to call and inform them before 3pm, otherwise they WILL not accept your request. ￥4000++ for one person, but we did not tried it for ourselves. Aoi pond nearby is closed until March 2019, so BUMP.

Lovely hotel”

We stay here on 05/12 one night, snowing around the environment, value hotel come with nice breakfast and good dinner. Free shuttle bus to blue pond during the night at 7.25pm. Good onsen and nice view, we meet the local wild animals, we enjoyed the hotel.

An excellent hotel with impeccable service”

This hotel is in the perfect location to the 2 most popular attractions - blue pond & the gorgeous Shirahige waterfall (just across the street) ... We were 3 adults - hubby & 16yo tall boy. Our Japanese style room is huge, like 14-16 tatami mat size. The outdoor onsen has a beautiful setting with shelter and rocks ... temperature of water is around 40-41C, perfect for winter, snowy conditions! The indoor onsen is huge and there is an onsen with jaccuzi and sauna too! I had a great time in the onsen ... about 5km before reaching the onsen is a rest stop with information center, a wonderful newly established (2018) burger place (BTB) and a North Face shop with the latest products!

Unhappy stay ”

We are not unable to dine at their restaurant for dinner and were advised that it reserved for paying guests, even that we are willing to pay, they keep saying no. And nearest food area is 30 mins drive away! And we are starving. Gosh! Staffs can't speak simple English, so difficult to communicate with them. Nothing near the hotel, except Blue pond and waterfall. Very inconvenient unless you drive. I don't think I will be staying in this hotel again.

Hyggelig”

There is no lift to 1st floor, the staff is not friendly, even they don't help carry luggage. Their staff who will pick up us in Biei Station did not know my name. Better give or show us, tourist, name of Hotel in English. It will helpful. But the location is very good.

Loved the onsen. Indoor and outdoor. Location near waterfall and blue pond. Tatami room was good. Staff was great.

We stayed in a traditional room in the main building. I booked through Agoda but somehow it was linked to a secondary booking with JTB. The staff are not very conversant in Engliah but nevertheless tried their best. Took a while to get things sorted out. Room was clean and bedding comfortable. We were given the pillows that were filled with straw! Something we were not used to. Again, it took a while before we could get them changed to a regular pillow. The onsen was very nice and dinner provided was good. Morning breakfast was a buffet with a mix of traditional Japanese food and Western style.

+ -Super clean -Just across the road from the waterfall, around 5-7 minutes drive to the blue pond? (somebody said it was walking distance but pls it's far like probably 30 mins or sth) -Onsen was amazzzzinggg -Dinner and breakfast was pretty amazing too! -Room was spacious - -not the cheapest place tho but i'd say it's worth.

Spacious and modern ryokan”

Love the rotenburo which was split into 2 levels. Indoor onsen is huge...can spend alot of time relaxing in the different types of onsen. Kaiseki dinner was good and location is within walking distance to the Shirohige Waterfalls
