Very nice hotel in a great area”
The hotel is beautiful and the staff is great. It was a very classy hotel. There are cabs waiting in line to drive you and there are a few train stations within walking distance but the best part is the location. You’re a few blocks from all the action. You can walk to all the stores and restaurants. I didn’t have a chance to use the amenities but from what I saw of the hotel, i would assume they’re all top notch.

Right from the staff were helpful and polite. Check in was smooth. They escorted us to our room and explained to us where everything is. The room itself is clean and we had a beautiful view. The location is right above one of the train stations. The location is fantastic.

Okura Kyoto is a great place to stay if you value service and high attention to detail. The staff are friendly and helpful, while the room was spacious and clean enough for my toddler to roll on the floor. Highly recommend it when travelling with family.

Concierge service was exceptionally helpful. This made a week exploring Kyoto without a guide a pleasure for an American couple . Guidance and reservations to superb restaurants and to lesser known but wonderful gardens. The Okura is a very efficient hotel with excellent service.

Excellent Hotel at Convenient Location”
Located right above an underground metro station and shops with the Kamo River a minute walk away. Room is spacious even with an extra bed added in a twin room Separate shower and bath in a large washroom. Hotel is very clean and modern. Staff are very polite and helpful. The concierge is efficient and effective.

Booked more on price and location initially for a first trip to Kyoto. Couldn't have been happier with the location and connections to local sights, shopping and dining. This is a luxury hotel at far-below-luxury prices, smack in the middle of Kyoto, ten seconds from a train station. The only downside is we didn’t know what kind of deal we had gotten, so we only stayed one night.

Best hotel to get Taxi. Kyoto is a busy city with travellers, difficult to go around without taxi. I booked hotel for mother 82 yo, solo traveller. Always problem to find the taxi with different hotel. Stay with Okura for more than 50 years.

First Class Service”
Can not say enough good things about this hotel. From the Welcome Centre at Kyoto Station, Shuttle to the hotel, welcoming and attentive Bell staff, reception, concierge and housekeeping, all provided amazing service and made us feel like VIPs. Room views of Kyoto amazing, looking out towards Kyoto Tower. Connected underground to subway and Zest shopping mall which came in handy the day it rained. Will be returning next year!
