We spent 5 nights at MerPerle Resort in a Deluxe seaview bungalow. The bungalow was clean but needing some maintenance. The railing on the deck is very paint worn and loose, so if someone leaned on it, they would end up down the slope. We felt the place had been neglected with regards gardening around the bungalows. The weeds and grass were very overgrown, to the point of blocking the sea view. The common area between our two bungalows was not swept or washed during our stay. There are no cushions on outdoor chairs so they are unusable. When we asked for them we were told we couldn't have them as it might rain and they'd get wet. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. A tip if you need to ask any questions, seek out the staff in the black and white suits - their English is very good. I assume they are floor managers. The only big problem we had was finding the pier on the mainland to leave from as our driver was not from the area. There is no signage and Vin Pearl Pier is not easily found on Google or iphone maps. Once we did arrive we were escorted by MerPerle staff to the waiting area, check-in and to the boat. It was all very smooth. We were greeted on arrival at the island by staff and taken to reception. We couldn't fault any of this. Restaurant food choice was good and lengthy. There are no other options on the island for food. Location is stunning and the waters are clean. With a little maintenance this resort would be first class.

The arrival went smoothly. The staff at the front desk explained about the activities and said I don't have to prepay, I can just go to the facilities and get a ticket there myself. This was not true. I wasted another 20 minutes trying to sort out a ticket. The food was expensive and average in taste, especially considering the price. For check out, I confirmed myself with the desk the time for check out and the boat. I then got called to ask what time I wanted to check out, so it means the staff did not register my check out time when I went to the reception desk. Then for pick up back to the reception, someone came to knock on my door to ask if I was ready. I proceeded to pick up my stuff, turned around, and the staff member was gone. No trolley waiting for me outside either. I had to walk. Luckily someone came passed picking up other people who still had room for me. Check out was badly organised, with too many people waiting and not enough staff. The rooms were nice, they were clean and as described in the pictures. What I didn't understand was that staff had electric motorbikes to go around, yet guests had to wait for trolleys at least 15 minutes. Not convenient if you have difficulty walking in this weather. Overall, I was not impressed with this resort and their treatment of guests. I did not feel like it was good value for money.

My friends and I had a fantastic time at Hon Tam — with our waterfront views and access to a private beach and private pool, it was a serene getaway from the day to day hustle. We especially enjoyed the buffet breakfast filled with an assortment of food including Banh Xeo and Banh khot! The rooms were spacious and the gym was right next to the water as well. Would love to visit again!

Like the first time we visit, our trip did not start out well. My wife suffered an accident while boarding the boat to the island and badly sprained her ankle which I thought was broken at the time. However, the hospital visit later confirmed it as a severe sprain. Despite this setback, we continued our trip to Hon Tam Resort. The resort staff, having heard of our mishap, extended tremendous support throughout our stay. Their service surpassed all expectations, reflecting a commitment that goes beyond duty. Recognizing my wife's condition, they graciously upgraded us to an ocean-side Villa, equipped for wheelchair accessibility. Although her injury limited our explorations, our time at Hon Tam Resort became a treasure trove of cherished memories, thanks to the warmth and care of its people. The staff's genuine concern for our comfort was evident in every gesture, going beyond professional obligations to ensure our well-being. Thank you to the restaurant staff—Duy, Huy, Phuong, Van, Tai, Hoa, Phung, the fitness staff-Truong, and the front desk team—Phuong, Sam and Nhu Y. Special and heartfelt gratitude to An, Huong, and Diem, whose exceptional thoughtfulness has eased my wife's challenges. “Great Holiday Location and Exceptional Service”
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Hon Tam Resort for two nights, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with the property’s serene atmosphere, stunning private beach, and beautifully appointed rooms. The resort is well-maintained, and every corner of it exudes elegance and relaxation. It is located on Hon Tam island, which is a 10-minute boat ride from the VinPearl cable car station. What truly made our stay exceptional was the service. A huge thank you goes to Kim An and Thanh Vi for their outstanding hospitality. Both of them went above and beyond to cater to our vegetarian dietary preferences, ensuring that we felt completely taken care of throughout our stay. Not only did they provide us with an extensive list of vegetarian options to choose from, but they also went the extra mile to get dishes prepared that weren’t even on the menu! Their attention to detail and dedication to making us feel special was incredibly heartwarming, and we’re truly grateful for their efforts. Their warmth, professionalism, and constant smiles made a lasting impact on us, and we can’t thank them enough. Some of the highlights of our stay included the fantastic burger they prepared for us—it was truly exceptional. The cocktails were refreshing, and the live music on Saturday evening added to the vibrant atmosphere. We also enjoyed a soothing spa and foot therapy session, and the mud bath was incredibly relaxing. The pool bar provided the perfect spot to unwind with a drink in hand. The breakfast buffet had an impressive variety of options, catering to every taste, and the Vietnamese menu was both vast and delicious. We were especially pleased to be served a delightful bowl of vegetarian pho, which was a thoughtful touch. Lastly, the coffee was excellent, a perfect way to start the day. Hon Tam Beach Resort provided us with a memorable, relaxing, and luxurious stay, and we cannot wait to return.
