A true jem”
What a fantastic place! Cozy, laid-back hostel located in an old ryokan with private onsen. We also liked the relaxed atmosphere of Itō and the quirky attractions nearby. Definitely the highlight of our stay in Japan so far!
Hostel but super cleans ”
I was a little afraid because we only found rooms without private bathroom but I was nicely surprises because the hostel is super clean and quiet. I would recommend staying here, it's very cheap and the location is charming! The bed is only futon so not quite comfortable sleeping here but it's part of the ryokan experience! They have their own onsen tattoo friendly and also 2 private little thermal hot tubs where you can enjoy a relaxing bath with your partner, that was great.

Eccellente ryokan, storico, posizione meravigliosa, la nostra stanza con una deliziosa veranda che dava sul fiume. Bellissimo onsen. Personale qualificato, disponibile, con un inglese fluente. Il ryokan ha una cucina attrezzatissima a disposizione e grandi spazi comuni. Per me il migliore ryokan.

My husband and I had been burnt out from work for years and we were looking for a place to just chill for a few days. K's House was just the right place for us. The inside of the Ryokan was beautiful. Our room was comfortable and clean. The staff can speak English and were very helpful. The view from the window was relaxing. The lounge was cozy and my husband and I enjoyed complementary drinks there. We also enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and the nearby restaurants and cafes were all delicious. This is my first time booking a room with shared bathroom and I think it is slightly inconvenient. During the night I felt a little self conscious using the bathroom in my PJ because I feel like I will run into other guests. The paper towels in our shared bathroom were not refilled until our third night. Perhaps next time I will consider booking a room with private bathroom. Some things to note for first-time visitors though. Remember to bring a tooth brush and tooth paste as it is not included. Overall, it was a relaxing experience and I would certainly try other K's house locations.

This was a great place to stay to enjoy izu. The room was large and comfortable, and we really enjoyed the traditional tatami and futon. There was a large common area which was very comfortable, and the kitchen and laundry facilities were easy to use. Two notes are that as this is an old building, there is no lift. Also, there was only 1 small private onsen, so if you dont want to use the public onsen you may have to wait some time for the private bath to clean up.
