First ryokan onsen experience”
This was my first ryokan onsen experience, and it was great! The staff were really nice and helpful. The included breakfast and dinner were also delicious and really special. The dinner was a traditional Japanese food, but elevated. The breakfast buffet had both Western and Japanese foods and had a very wide selection of food. The included yukata also completed the experience and made me feel immersed in Japan. It was nice to have a private onsen as well. However, the bathtub could be a bit cleaner in my opinion. The semi open-air bath overlooked the adjacent mountainside, but it was also across from a parking structure, which is not ideal since it doesn't feel 100% safe from prying eyes. However, I'd still recommend staying here. I had a great experience overall!
Such an enjoyable experience ”
Hakone is a hot spring area, so there are many hot spring hotels to choose from. We like the hotel have a private onsen. Room is clean and spacious. We stayed in a a japanese style room, they made up you tatami beddings when you were having dinner. Food was very nice, I must say is a japanese fine dining. We stayed for 2 nights and the dinners were different and gave us suprise. Service was good. Staff were very helpful and polite. We really enjoy our stay. Will recommend to friends.
We had a great time here”
We stayed at Hakone Pax Yoshino for one night in mid March. It's a 15 minutes walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station which is okay for us since we have only a small luggage. On the other hand, you can also take their shuttle bus if needed but you'll have to check the schedule with the hotel. The hotel is very well maintained and staff are super friendly. Our price included dinner (set menu) and breakfast (buffet). Both are super delicious and with great variety. The hot spring experience is good, we paid extra $30 for a private room which was very nice and clean. We were able to store our luggage there when we check out the next day, finished our Hakone loop then pick it up late afternoon before we head back to Tokyo. Overall, I'm very satisfy with our stay.
Traditional onsen”
It feels like this onsen has been around for a very long time. Very traditional vibes. Reception was kind but definitely helps if you can speak Japanese. The room has quite a bit of wear and tear and the bathroom hairdryer was kind of moldy but the open air bath was decent (although small). The bath also does not come pre-filled so make sure to do that as soon as you'd like to take a bath. The faucet is on a timer so you don't have to worry about it overflowing. It's a little weird to sleep in the middle of the room but the futons were comfortable. The kaiseki meal was a first for me and very traditional. It was a good experience though. The waiter spoke our language for a nice surprise. The public onsens were very hot but quite nice (they allow covered tattoos). I particularly liked the outdoor one. The breakfast buffet was simple but enough. There is also a shuttle that takes you to the Hakone-Yumoto station for 200Y as long as you let reception know you're waiting. Decent stay.
I love the open air hot spring bath”
Just as expected of a Japanese hot spring town hotel. Not the newest in the area but there's no issue with cleanliness or any of the facilities. Foods are good. I love the river view from my room.
