we stayed at united hotel taipei early may 2012. it is a good clean hotel with very good service. airport bus, fay gou, flying dog, stops in front of this hotel, not an official stop, but will stop here by request. we did not know it, paid nt$1250=us$43 for taxi ride from airport, bus would've been much more roomy, comfortable, good view and far cheaper. taxi to airport is nt$1000. well trained polite and professional staff, unload and delivered luggage, opened the door or held elevators for guests, many are always there to assit. big clean room, about double size of average hotel rooms, clear modern designs from decades ago but stood the test of time and well maintained. unusual huge bed, biggest i have seen anywhere, much wider. very big white marble bathroom with very powerful shower. large free breakfast spread with complete chinese, japanese and western selections. free good speed wifi in room. 24 hrs coffee and tea in lobby. short wait for elevators, takes under a minute to get taxi upfront. subway around the corner with 3-5 minutes walk. 7-11 and starbuck few doors down. many city bus stops in front or around the corner. many restaurants, shops and banks next to hotel, but not in the center of hot shopping area which is about 15 minutes walk away. big construction of stadium across the street, loud noise started at 8am, not a problem for us, as we spent hours watching the construction work. our room face the front with a clear view of the 101 building and the mountains. excellent hotel in taipei.

Stayed here alone from 7-9th Aug 2014, booked the room at around $190 sgd. per night via Agoda.com. Location The hotel is at a great location in DaAn area with a MRT exit (XinYi line) right in front of the hotel entrance. Across the street is another MRT exit/entrance for the WenHu line. As you then left exiting the hotel, within minutes of walking, there's a Starbucks and Family Mart, super convenient to pick up quick meals or a cup f coffee/tea. Approximately 10-20 mins walking time to reach the 2 Sogo shopping malls & Breeze Centre. If you don't want to walk, there are plenty of buses at the bus stop near the hotel. Also within walking distance are the DaAn park and YongKang street (full of great eateries). Room I booked a superior room with King size bed and was upgraded to a same tier room but with a Taipei 101 view. It was a nice touch for sure. There's a balcony but can't seem to open it. The room itself is very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Size is reasonably big. Comes with a working desk & an armchair. There's a bathtub in the toilet, good for soaking after a long day out. Staff The people working at the hotel are generally nice and pleasant. They are also quick to offer suggestions when asked. Paul in particularly was very helpful. It's great to feel welcome. Conclusion All in all, this is a hotel I definitely recommend and will not hesitate to rebook when I'm back in Taipei again.

We stayed 8 nights in the room without window at Greenworld Hotel Zhongxiao. Coming with my wife and 1.5 years old baby. The hotel location is exactly behind Forever21 and I can say the location is very prime. Strength - Inside the room is awesome, room size as well as bed size are huge with 55” television. - 5-star toilet with bathtub and television (inside the toilet), heated bidet and well maintained shower & washbowl - So many designer stores (Forever21, Zara, Mango, etc.) and minimarkets (Family Mart & 7/11) at the hotel sorrounding - Just 100m for Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT Station exit 3 - Also has affordable laundry in 350m from the hotel. Kindly search “Yongji Laundry” in the google map. The price is NTD200 for the first 5kg and NTD40 per kg subsequently. Need improvement - Looks so bad from the outside, the hotel should consider to expand the lobby area and the corridor to the main elevator - Lack of variety in the breakfast, potentially bored with the selections

I've stayed here 3-4 times for up to a week each time, 1/2 work and 1/2 play. Service occasionally spotty (e.g., one time had a prob with dvd player, which is very important for me and my work; doorman often absent or not paying attention). Rooms are small, but then so is the price. Furnishings all ok. Breakfast buffet ok, not great. But location is ideal: lots of late night (or nearly 24 hr) eateries 5 min walk down street, bus and subway stops 5 min walk up street, lots of other useful stores nearby like 7-11, mobile phone shops, restaurants, Starbucks, even a bar or two. If you like to walk, within about 20-30 min walk you can get to National Taiwan University, the big Da-an Park, and Yongkang St (lots to eat including Din Tai Fung!). Also currently more subway lines/stations under construction within walking distance. You might have a wee problem getting in and out of front door/curb if you have an extreme amount (or extremely heavy) of luggage. Over all big thumbs up.

Well-designed hotel. The art installations found around the hotel were nice especially the one by Yu Fen-Wu. To be honest, every spot in the hotel is instagram worthy. As for the rooms, there were not big but thoughtfully designed. There is also a laundry room available but was not able to avail it. Maybe next time I visit. For the location, the hotel is located in a quiet street. It's a couple of minutes away from Da'an station. Also, there are plenty of independent cafes and a small night market around the area. Lastly, the staff where very friendly and helpful. Will definitely book again when I visit Taipei.

Convenient location to nearest MRT station Daan. Centrally located and it’s a few stations away from major areas such as Taipei Main Station, Ximending, Yongkang street, etc. Fairly old hotel but clean and nicely maintained. Shower water pressure is consistent and powerful. Comfortable bedding. 2 buffet breakfast restaurants to choose from (Asian and western). Both have good variety and delicious food. We stayed 5 nights but have not gotten bored with the breakfast.

We stayed at Royal Nikko, W Hotel and the Shang-La on this trip and by far the Shangri-La was a stand-out. Just out of the city centre in a less noisy location but close enough to town when you need to go. The staff are very professional and focused on the guests. The VIP Lounge was very comfortable and the food great, the pool is on the top of the building with very nice views. The gym is large and full of quality equipment. We upgraded our room which was a smart decision, firstly because the lower price rooms were small with no view (be warned) but also because for the extra money we got a large room with great views and very nice amenities. More focused on business people than leisure but that suited us fine as the service levels and facilities were some of the best we have experienced.

Hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood within 5 mins walk of metro station & busy streets & department store, it is super convenient no matter you prefer to travel with metro or taxi (which is always available outside hotel entrance). Since I am quite familiar with the local area, there is little help I needed from hotel staff. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated; wifi worked perfectly well; our room has bathtub and balcony which is an added value and I was able to fully relax in the room. I will definitely book the same room type for my future visits, and plan to spend more time working from the room so I can enjoy more of every features. I have no reserve and would recommend the hotel to anyone spending time in Taipei!

Excellent location, it's located somewhere between two MRT stations but still can access easily. The room is spacious and well equipped and I just love the staff (especially the 2 ladies at night shift), they are so friendly and cheerful. I will definitely stay at this hotel again, it's 物超所值!! By the way, there's a nice family owned restaurant serving beef noodles nearby (just across the street, less than 1 min walk from the hotel), the food is so tasty but not expensive, do go and try :)

A small but cozy place. It is bright, new and clean with high tech toilet and switches. Mini bar in the room is complimentary. It consist of some non alcoholic drinks and snacks which they replenish everyday if you ask for room cleaning. Self service Chinese tea leaves and Illy coffee are provided. Rooms are suitable for 2 adults and a child or 3 adults. Their staffs are very helpful and polite. As I could only speak and read a bit of Mandarin. The hotel is situated in a very convenient place at Daan district. There's a 7 eleven convenient store on the left side of the hotel. 3 mins walk down the road opposite the hotel there are 2 tea shops selling bubble tea and a Mos burger fastfood store. Another 2 mins walk, across a main street, there are food stalls by the road at night. A few restaurants within the vicinity. Close to 2 Mrt stations. Easy to reach by bus. Their ala carte breakfast was delicious besides a small spread at the buffet table. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed in Room 810 for 5 nights. This corner room is especially big with plenty of windows and quite quiet. The setting of the room is similar to some 4.5 star hotels with seating area and big bathroom and bathtub. This room is definitely worth more stars than rated but of course, this is not a 5 star hotel especially the given price. The King size bed is definitely a plus. Service is excellent and they made the check-in special by leaving one key card in the slot so that the room is all bright and cool when you first go in. This is a very thoughtful and welcoming service. As many people have mentioned about the free food and drinks as well as the marinated tea eggs. This is surely very nice. For those who are concerned about the noise from the nearby KTV, note that the rooms in some part of the hotel are all quiet. I have also stayed in smaller room in this trip. Even though the smaller ones can't be compared with Room 810 but it is decent and very good for the price.

We booked 3 nights double deluxe room with Taipei 101 view (spacious enough for 2). Very clean and modern room with friendly and helpful staff. Location is superb - near MRT stations (nearest Zhongxiao Fuxin station), many eateries and lots of shopping surrounding the hotel. Taxi drivers and locals are not familiar with this hotel. Best to search google map to familiar with the exact location. Will definitely return the Eastin-Taipei again.

Stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. 2nd time in Taipei and I know it's the perfect location. Husband and I reached the hotel around 10am , standard check in time is 3pm. They allowed us to do the check in process and let us know that we can leave our lugagges. We went back past 3PM and our room was ready. The room size is perfect for a couple and you have the basic things you need. Mini-Fridge, toiletries, TV, bedroom slippers etc. The only cons is that the room doesn't have any place to put your luggage. But other than that, I am so satisfied with what this hotel offers. I am 3 months pregnant and I love the fact that it is very close to the train station (zhongxiao dunhua). Would only take 3 mins from the building to the platform. The building has Watsons, ZARA besides , uniqlo opposite the street and lots of eating places. Try BKK Fried Chicken! Thank you Vendomme East Inn! Highy recommended!

KDM was recommended by friends. Without any doubt, the hotel is located at one of the best place at Taipei. There's airport bus which brings us right infront of the hotel. MTR is right next to it. Within a few stops we could get to any where in Taipei. We arrived with a hungry stomach, the friendly staff recommended us to some cheap and very nice food around the corner of hotel. We even found some other very interesting and nice food close to the hotel. I will definitly choose KDM hotel when I next visit Taipei.

We enjoyed our stay with the hotel, clean and modern room. The sound proof was quite good too. We only heard a bit of water sound from upstairs. Very quiet for good night sleep. Free breakfast,and courteous staff. 2 free bottles of water and two free snacks every day. We took Freego bus from Taoyuan international airport bus terminal and got off at ZhongXiaoFuXing MRT station NT140 for adult and NT90 for child. We then taxi NT$90 to arrive hotel. The hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk to the new MRT Dongmen station and YongKang street with lots of eateries including the famous DingTaiFen. The hotel also has detailed instructions about how to take bus to various attractions, including Taipei 101. Taxi is everywhere and inexpensive. Around NT 150 from 101, Pacific Sogo. We normally took bus or MRT to go out and came back with taxi. Hotel could arrange airport and drop off service. We paid NT1100 for a taxi from hotel to Novotel Taoyuan airport, same price for Taoyuan airport. We tried 2 types of rooms, standard room with window and a bit small and shower only in the bathroom. Elite double with window and bigger, shower in the bathtub. We only use shower, so need to climb into the bathroom. We actually stayed a total of 5 nights, for Friday and Saturday, book with Agoda is cheaper. The rest, I booked directly with the hotel's own website-cheaper. Hope all of the information helps.

Just 100 meters from the ShangriLa Far Eastern Hotel, this boutique hotel is in an upscale neighbourhood of tree-lined streets, about a ten minute, $3 taxi ride to central station or to the Taipei 101 tower. The area has many pleasant European style restaurants and the HD Palace has a good sports bar restaurant on the street level (Carnegie's) frequented by foreigners. A Starbucks and a 7/11 are around the corner. Its a ten minute walk from the subway system, so a taxi is recommended in hot weather- they are clean and inexpensive, but have the hotel write your destination in Chinese since many drivers dont understand English. The hotel itself is a boutique hotel like in Paris, with reception and breakfast area on the second floor. Staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke English. The rooms are large for Taipei, with great beds, big screen TVs, large windows (I had a view of Taipei 101 Tower) and very large, clean, bright and modern bathrooms. The breakfast was quite OK- with a selection of Western food and coffees, and you have the option of sitting out on the very pleasant deck. This hotel is great value for money and is highly recommended.

I love Madison and I try to stay there whenever I visit Tpe for special occasions. Location is the best for my personal choice. Sits at a quiet residential area but a lot going on around the hotel with numerous small shops and restaurants that give u a lot of choices! Easily accessible too as its right on a Main Street that you won't miss. Also love the design of the room with lots of wood structure as well as a side sitting room, nice restroom with a lot of space as well that gives me a sense of enjoyment as always. Staff service is at top quality. Had their help for something at a rather late time at night and they tried my best to accommodate it.. The result is.. I m a completed man now! Thank Madison!

I went to check in earlier than they thought but they allowed me to leave my luggage there and it was moved right to my room when the room was ready, unlike other 3 stars hotels... However, the best part I like is toilet and how they manage the light in the room which was nicer than I expected. I also like the dark theme of this hotel with all the art pieces throughout the area of the hotel. Another best part for me is the dining room on the 5th floor. So stunning ! And the breakfast I had there is also over 3 stars! Absolutely love this hotel

Location - the hotel is just a few stops away from everything - xi men ding, taipei station, yong kang food street. Staff - friendly and knowledgeable. give good recommendation on food and places to go. always willing to help. Room - new, very clean and spacious given its upscale location and price. the only thing that the hotel may need to improve is their breakfast. extend the breakfast hour and improve the taste of the food. Also, there were times where there were no staff at the front desk during the day - maybe short of manpower? A little weird for a 4-star hotel. Overall, i would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking for a decent stay in Taipei.

I just came back from my 4D-3N stay in Taipei and I am raring to write about my hotel of choice. I stayed at the Fu Hau Hotel for 3 nights in August of 2011. This hotel was my choice after extensive research here at Tripadvisor and booked through Agoda.com and I was not disappointed. I checked-in at 3:00 am of a Friday but the registration and check-in was a breeze. I originally booked a room without breakfast but was surprised to get breakfast vouchers for 3 days! But if breakfast was not provided, there are many alternative locations with walking distance from the hotel such as 7-11 and Starbucks Coffee. Our room in the 12th floor was a standard double and I was quite surprised on its size but the well-appointed furniture, elegant furnishings and spacious bathroom well compensated its size. After a few hours, I took my breakfast at the basement restaurant. It has local and international food selection. Coffee was freshly brewed by their brewing machine. I was told by my Taiwanese friends that the person who booked this hotel is very smart because of its accessibility to the MRT (Daan Station). You can literally go to Taipei’s entire destination through the MRT and bus because of its central location. It is a short walk from Taipei 101 and just a few MRT station from the TAIPEI Zoo and Maokong Gondola (which is a must see!). Better get a prepaid easy card for NT$400 which you can use for busses and MRTs around Taipei plus payment to convenience stores such as 7-11 and Happy Life. The staffs are very helpful and accommodating. They even provide umbrellas for the heat of drizzle you might encounter during your trip around the city. I just have to stay that this is the best city boutique hotel I stayed in for a trip in Asia!

We stayed over Christmas n New Year. And the hotel surprised us with presents for both my child and us adults , from wine to boxes of local snacks to lollipops. I've stayed in over 80 hotels during my travels. And this is the most generous hotel, the toiletries provided daily included facial wash, bath salt, bubble bath, mouth wash. Everyday they replenish our rooms with snacks and water. At the lobby you'll find bottles of water, biscuits and candies. But the most amazing thing about the hotel is the excellent service. They went out of their way to provide us a baby cot, they provided packing service when our luggage were full. And everyday we were greeted with smiles. My 19 mths old boy was overly pampered by the staff. The location is great, plenty of food & convenient stores nearby. There's also a huge park across the hotel which my boy loved. And the train station is 2min walk away. It's a small cozy 3 stars hotel that's a little old. But they made us felt at home.

Clean, modern, cozy and quiet hotel in alley. Taxi driver may not know this hotel most time,it is better to give an address in Chinese. Hotel is located in residential area, and there are not much store around hotel, but you can access to MRT, convenience store, coffee shop, supermarket...etc within 5-10 mins walk. With this hotel rate, I definitely come back to stay.

Travelled with a 12 year old to Taipei and stayed for 5 days at the Deja Vu. The Hotel is at approximately 3mn walk from the Zhongxia Fuxing MRT station which is on 2 lines. The hotel has 2 entrances, one on the main Fuxing Rd and another one at the back. Can't remember the exact name of the road but it is Exit 1 (of MRT station) and then first little road on the right. There are a few buses stopping from and to the airport (Evergreen, Airbus...). Arriving from the airport, the bus stops you at the green Sogo Department store and you just have to cross the road. Going to the airport, the bus stop is on the same side of the road (exit 1 of MRT station). The location of this hotel is perfect and very convenient. About the hotel itself, it is an oldfashioned hotel but it has all the facilities of a 3-star (even more) and the amenities (bottled water, toothbrushes, nail files, slippers...). The bathroom was huge with jacuzzi and separate shower that does steam room (didn’t try). The toilet is in a separate room. Floor in bedroom is wooden. Flat TV screen with plenty of channels (CNN, HBO, Star World...). Decor is not modern but everything was working fine and was very clean. Wifi in the bedrooms is with cable but there's wireless wifi in the business centre (ground floor) which you can use free of charge. There they have a large Apple computer, coffee machine, tea, biscuits free of charge too. Staff at Reception was very helpful. In fact they have 2 desks one at front entrance and of course one at the back. No problem with finding someone who could speak English. Breakfast was ok, mainly Asian food, but they also have cereals, bread, butter, jam. They also have an egg station where you can order omelette, eggs...

This is definitely a designer's hotel, so much effort has been pt in into the design. We love Les Suite in Shanghai hence we did not hestitated booking Les Suite Da-An which is the very first hotel by the same chain. Love the lounge we can can have a drink & snack all day long, the setting is inviting just like your living room at home. We love how the place is converted to a breakfast area in the morning. We were lucky to have Micheal the cab driver cum tour guide that is always outside at this hotel, he took us to many places for good street foods. The room that we stayed in was not big but everything else is almost perfect. wifi is available throughout the hotel for free. We will give Les suite Ching Cheng a try the next time we go back to Taipei.
