"The review score for Paradise is solid, but I noticed that a lot of the lengthier English reviews skewed negative. After my 4 night stay, I'm convinced that a) complainers tend to be more loud and b) there were probably some legit issues that have indeed been addressed by management. The location is fantastic. You're on a pristine beach, with one of the longer piers on the island. It's quiet, but there is some life, and you'll make friends if you hang by the outdoor bar. The shop by the pier is a huge plus compared to many other resorts; we went twice a day for items we needed. The pool is one of the largest pools on Koh Kood, overlooking the beach, and it's usually empty. The staff is friendly and helpful. The grounds are well kept. The rooms are clean and fully functional. Considering price, we were extremely happy with all that "Paradise" has to offer. Try dinner at either, or better yet both, of the resorts next to Paradise; Shantaa and Me Dee. "

"For our stay of 5 nights (which was part of our 3 weeks backpacking Thailand), we used Medee beach for our Buddhist monk wedding ceremony blessing to start our travels... Hotel is quiet, clean, lush garden cottages and great breakfast included in our package. Didn't eat here apart from breakfast as we rented a moped from them (300thb per day for 4 days)... And travelled the island checking all the beaches , villages and other resorts.... However didn't think the hotel food looked expensive , but obviously more than the Thai street food and small places to eat.... So .... If you are looking for a modern clean but relaxed and definately off the beaten track hotel , look no further .... Lots of the other hotels.looked run down and dated compared to Medee...... And mention re the staff ... Nothing was too much trouble .. "

"Location is perfect, right on the beautiful beach, there are no crowds just a few people so you can swim and enjoy. Some grass and fish a bit away from the coast, good for snorkeling. A bit too basic room for that money but very friendly staff and great ice cream! At night there was some noise from local parties in close proximity. At reception you can buy a direct service to Bangkok via speed boat ( from the nearest pier within 5-10 walking distance) and mini van. But be prepared the boat may be late (we expected to leave at 12 but waited one hour)."
