One of the best hotel finds EVER”

Staying at Hotel the Flag with my family was really a delightful experience. The location was perfect as we were able to go to and fro the hotel and Shinsaibashi or Dotonburi easily. It’s just a short walk, even from the Shinsaibashi station. If you want to have late night dinners and you want to try where the locals go, the hotel is surrounded by many Izakayas. The staff were very helpful, from giving us directions regarding train rides or calling cabs for us, they really go the extra mile. I also find their hotel rooms roomier than most boutique hotels in the same area. The restroom was nicely designed and it was not cramped at all even for my husband who’s over 6ft tall. So, when we fly back to Osaka, would I want to stay there again? A resounding YES! Hotel The Flag, you’re off to a great start. I hope you keep the same excellent level of service and maintain the same clean, chic look of your hotel space.

Great new hotel in amazing location. ”

I have been to Osaka many times over the years and this year decided to pick a new hotel over my regular one as the reviews for the Flag were quite good. I was not disappointed. It’s in a great location and rooms are standard for Japanese hotels. Bathroom is more than adequate and amenities were good too. Will definitely stay here next time I travel to Osaka.

New, near to shopping many famous restaurant at reasonable price”

Stayed here for 3 nights in a twin bedroom. Location about 2 blocks away from shinsaibashi suji shopping street and daimaru. Cost 230 yen from Uemeda station to Shinsaibashi station using Midosuji subway line. Longer walk from Jr nanba if using JR pass. Check in was speedy. Staffs speak good English and explained well about the facilities available at the hotel. Love the hotel decor. Have a fireplace at the lobby. Room is compact but very functional. Love the bathroom especially the rain shower. Hair dryer is powerful - panasonic's top range. Had 2 days breakfast at the hotel. Food range is the same for both days. Love the chicken nuggets and fish tempura with tartare sauce. Wide variety in salads which includes black radish which I have not tried before. The pork stew in white wine is nice too. Taste like gyudon but pork. The only thing I didn't like about my stay was some inconsiderate guests that shouts and talks loudly along the corridor early in the morning, disturbing other guests who might still be sleeping.

Exceptional Hotel”

We stayed at Hotel the Flag for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the beautifully designed space. Located only 2 minutes from Shinsaibashi Station and just a stroll to the shopping area and a short walk to Dotonbori. Great amenities and the complimentary self service coffee was amazing. Rooms were minimally designed but included all the necessities when traveling to create a relaxing and comfortable stay (the shower was amazing).

Highly recommended in Shinsaibashi/Dotonbori area in Osaka! The hotel is located right at the heart of the action. The restaurants, department stores, convenience stores are all within 3 to 10 minutes walking distance. It's a brand new hotel, opened in March/April, and very clean. It is different, modern minimalist, has its own unique character. The front desk staff are top rate, very helpful always making sure we have a delightful stay. The standard room size is just about right, not small not large either. The hanging space is not enough which may pose a problem for some guests. The size of the bathroom is adequately big enough to accommodate 2 people at the same. Overall rating is excellent.

Great location”

As frequent travelers to Osaka The Flag is now our hotel of choice. Though the price is high this is due to the amazing location which is just slightly off Shinsaibashi main street.

Fantastic location”

5 mins walk to Shinsaibashi subway station. Between the walk from the Hotel to the subway station, there is an outlet of the famous Ichiran Ramen, which open almost 24hours from 8am to 6am. Shinsaibashi suji shopping belt link all the way to Dotombori and Namba area. All by walking. Do note that the subway from Shinsaibashi to Namba though is a stop away, it's 180 yen. Not cheap. If you are with a family of 4, taking a taxi cost around the same price. Also, there are many Pubs, clubs besides the Hotel. Young couple would love to stay here. Hotel staffs are excellent, very friendly and helpful.

Honestly best accommodation in the central of Osaka! We will definitely be back ”

From the excellent service from the staff, to the location, cleanliness of room and size of room it honestly ticked all the boxes for us. I cannot flaw a single thing about this hotel and that says a lot. I don’t normally leave reviews however had to for this hotel because of the amazing experience we had, we will definitely be back. We had to cut our stay short due to CONVID-19 and the staff were able to refund the extra nights we paid for with no penalty fees. It is only a few minutes walk to Shinsaibashi station as well as Dontonbori, even better it’s right next to an Ichiran! Must stay hotel.

Great location”

Very much enjoyed staying at this hotel. The easy walk to everything was the best . We used the subway a few times so the hotel location to Shinsaibashi station was perfect. Easy walk to the river and shops was fabulous too. We also used the Handy device available in the room and took it with us every time we left the hotel.... Japanese street names, (or lack thereof!) made getting around a bit difficult so having Handy on hand made all the difference to finding places and finding our way back. If you have limited data access while overseas I recommend using this device, the daily cost was minimal. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. In particular Fan was a delight and gave us some great tips for sightseeing. The room was perfectly clean and very quiet. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast had some great options. Being dairy free and no soy milk available was surprising though. Highly recommended.

Love this hotel”

The hotel located around 10min walk from Shinsaibashi station at the entertainment and shopping central pf Osaka. The hotel is new, super clean, very detail to bring comfort to guests. The interior and the ambience is wonderful. The staff is very friendly and speaks english well. Tye receptionist Tong is very kind. We don't book breakfast but he gave us free breakfast 1x. Highly recommended. Worth every cent.

A perfect Hotel”

It has the best facilities as well service. Friendly staff and a great shower will melt your heart. There’s a 24hours coffee machine for you. Enjoying a hot latte in winter is simply amazing. The location is great as it is 5 minute-walk to the shopping area Shinsaibashi. The subway is around the corner too. Truly worth the value. Will be back again. Thank you The Flag! I had a great Japan trip.

Amazing”

Location, location, location - located in the midst of Shinsaibashi, close access to Metro and shopping, leaving you spoilt for choice with food and shopping pretty much a 5 mins walk away. Room was clean and comfortable, the amenities provided were very good - from hardware such as rainshower to having a handy phone available for guests. I had the opportunity to try the breakfast on one of the days. There were plenty of choices and tasted nice. Definitely my first choice when in Osaka!

hotel is close to Shinsaibashi station (M19) easy to go everywhere in Osaka with red subway. came out on exit 1-3 and you will see dean and deluca shop. please go straight and see sight exit south 10 on the right hand sight. go up to escalator you will find Uniqlo shop. and now it easy to go the hotel.

Great Place ”

The location is near the red line Shinsaibashi station. About 5-10 mins walk. Nearby there is a family mart, Ichiran ramen which opens til 6am, great for supper! It is also near the shinsaibashi shopping belt. Room was great and they provided the latest Panasonic n99 hair dryer! Although it was cramp for 3 bedder, the cleanliness & location makes it up. There is a rainshower in the bathroom and the toiletries are good. Would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends

perfect hotel for shopaholic”

comfort, clean and friendly staffs. their breakfast is western style (do have rice and porridge) , taste good but repeated daily. less than 5min walk to shinsaibashi subway, shinsaibashi shopping street. nearby the hotel has 711, family mart and alot restaurants (not recommended sushi t3tsu, we had bad experience) overall, great stay! thanks

New Hotel is well situated in the heart of the Shinsaibashi. Room is spacious and nicely decorated. Very comfortable stay! Will stay again for my next Osaka trip.

Exceptional”

This is a boutique hotel with great interiors. Loved the free coffee at the lobby, the warm cozy lounge and the free breakfast. I suggest that more western options be included in the buffet. Location was great! Very near Shinsaibashi street and Dotonburi. A lot of places to eat too. Very near train stations. Room was too small for 3 adults, no space to open our luggage.

Well designed boutique hotel”

Simple, but well designed and clean. Quality fittings and toiletries add a nice touch to the room. Staff were very well informed, and were always one step ahead in helping me. The hotel was also walkable to the Shinsaibashi metro, as well as to the main attraction of Dotonburi. Would highly recommend for hip travelers!

Nothing to complain”

Room was spacious, super clean and cozy. Hotel is very conveniently located to Shinsaibashi within 5min walk to subway station. Everything was good including the price. Would definitely come back again.

Super fresh, stylish hotel with great location & service!”

We’ve been travelling in Asia for more than two months and this is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. Normally we go for 4-star minimum, but this hotel looked so nice, so we picked it despite the 3.5 star status. We would rate this hotel much higher than some of the 4-star or higher hotels we’ve stayed in so far. The staff is super friendly and helpful and everything is really fresh and stylish and you couldn’t stay at a better location in Osaka. Every cool or interesting spot is tight around the corner. Highly recommended. We will come back!
