Exceptional”
This was our first time staying in Tokyo so don't know other hotels to compare with, but we were very impressed with hotel niwa and would happily stay there again. The location was excellent for a family with teenagers. Very short walk to subway/train lines, many great places to eat nearby, beautiful parks, and Tokyo Dome City (fun to spend a day here with teens) a few minutes walk away.

Clean, great interior design”
Really a nice atmosphere all around, good area and even though the trains can be a bit far (5-10 min walk), the location is central and you’ll get around quickly. Would recommend to anyone!

Fancy decor”
Rooms and all the hotel facilities are decorated in Japanese style and so fancy. Despite the large number of rooms, they have only three check-in/out machines, and it causes a long queue at peak times.

Clean hotel and excellent service”
This is my second time staying at the 庭ホテル The staff were very helpful at check-in and check-out, calling Yoidobashi Camera when I had misplaced my passport. The hotel and room cleanliness were excellent. I would prefer more healthy options for breakfast at the price charged, e.g. whole grain or multi-grain bread is popular in Australia right now, and low sugar granola for example. Also we prefer peanut butter or Vegemite over conserves. The gym could do with at least some free weights and a bench for guys to do some simple weight training.

Classy Japanese style hotel but too compact”
The hotel has very vice interior decor with windows overlooking internal gardens. But twin standard room is too small with no desk. Also refresh lounge on 3rd floor although very nice decor overlooking a small garden is too small with too few seating areas and coffee is only served from 4pm. Breakfast is good but expensive at 3000 yen. Late check out even just 30 mins is charged 2000 yen. So although nice probably wouldn’t stay again

Expensive, but great service”
I would recommend this hotel, but the location nor the room does not warrant the cost. It may be more reasonably priced during off peak seasons. I felt the room was not value for money. I booked as they had a gym, however it was small and did not have any free weights. The staff on the other hand were excellent and very helpful.

Small but nice room, near Tokyo Dome”
Centrally located hotel near Tokyo Dome and the used book stores neighborhood. Room was tight but comfortable. Subdued atmosphere.

Beautiful hotel, great location, excellent service”
We stayed in Hotel Niwa Tokyo for 4 nights and cannot fault the hotel in any way during our stay. Before our trip, we emailed the hotel to ask them to help us make several reservations at restaurants we wished to dine in. The communication via email was excellent and the manager who assisted us was helpful in every way. The hotel itself is about 5 mins walk to Suidobashi station, which has both a JR rail line, and a subway line which makes access to any part of Tokyo extremely easy and convenience. The hotel also has 2 adjoining restaurants (one of them is a Bar & Grill, the other is a traditional Japanese-style) but unfortunately we did not have time to try them - we would have if we had more time. The double room that we had itself is not very large, but more than sufficient for having a good rest along with clean and well-stocked bathrooms. On the last day, it was raining and the hotel even provided free umbrellas to take with us free of charge - all this even after we had checked out. To top it off, we only paid AUD100 per night on an amazing Agoda deal - it was definitely worth more than that given the location and service in a enormous city like Tokyo! Highly recommended.

Quaint, comfy & central”
Lovely hotel, beautiful grounds and lobby area. Very tastefully appointed rooms, a little on the small side but well equipped, quiet and comfortable. The third floor refresh room is a stand out feature of the hotel. The Japanese garden is serene and a lovely place to unwind in the afternoon sun or after a late night in wonderful Tokyo. The massage chairs are downright awesome, we fell asleep on two occasions when we didn't intend to. The refresh room also features vending machines for beers, soft drinks etc and washing facilities. There is also an adjacent gym. The location of Hotel Niwa is vey good indeed, despite our initial concerns that it was situated in a relatively quiet area. It is within 5 minutes walk of 2 metro stations, next door to a 24 hour convenience store and there are various bars and restaurants tucked away in the surrounding streets of you explore. It is also within 5 mins of the Tokyo Dome theme park and entertainment complex which was an unexpected but fantastic surprise (you have to ride the Thunder Dolphin if you have a strong stomach!!). Overall, we had a wonderful 7 nights at the Niwa and I would wholeheartedly recommend it!

As Good As the Reviews Say”
I parsed the Agoda reviews, looking for a great centrally located hotel for our first trip to Tokyo. The Niwa absolutely delivered on all of its great reviews. well designed room that combines Western amenities with Japanese sensibilities. The location is superb; just a short 5 minute walk to Suidoboshi Station and 10 minutes to Tokyo Dome. The neighborhood is nice and quiet with some fun izakayas and ramen shops nearby. There's a few convenience stores close by as well for those late night snack runs. The internet in the room is very fast. Make sure to check out the massage chairs while waiting for your clothes to dry in the laundry room. Only downside is that the room is "small" by Western standards. If you are a larger person, you may find the room a bit tight. Highly recommended.

Superb Property - highly recommended”
I was initially hesitant booking here, but decided to take a chance based on reviews. Both my wife and I really enjoyed our Tokyo stay in the Niwa. Nothing fancy or over the top, but I solid 4 star boutique hotel in a quite neighborhood. Rooms were exactly as advertised and our non-smoking room was in immaculate condition. A bit tight on space with two large hard sided suitcases and lack of proper storage, but this is typical throughout Japan. Hotel Niwa proved to be a great location for getting to all the touristy parts of Tokyo and you only need to walk five minutes to find the Squidobashi train station. Luckily, we rented a pocket wifi at Narita, so using the iPad and Hyperdia, we pretty much had the navigation of the train lines sorted out by the second day. While we did stay in other nice hotels during our two weeks in Japan, the Hotel Niwa was one of our favorites - a real value for your money. We will certainly be returning next year.

Hotel Niwa was perfect”
Our room was very nice; quiet, very large and clean. Niwa provided toothbrushes, combs, slipper and pyjamas. The bathroom was large, modern and clean. The front desk had no problem with English. Niwa is in a quiet part of Tokyo, but with many universities nearby, there are lots of cheap and quick places to eat. The Tokyo Dome is close, with a spa and other entertainment. Suidobashi stations for the Toei subway and the JR trains are in nearby walking distance, which let us connect very quickly to the rest of Tokyo. When we left, we took a taxi to Ueno station then the Keisei express to Narita. It was very fast and affordable. The Hotel has a gym on the second floor, but I did not have time to see it. The restaurant/bar closes at 10:30 PM.
