Close to train station, nice place to stay”
Just cross the street from south exit of the Ichinoseki station and turn right. Hotel staff are generous and warm hospitality. The room is clean and comfortable. Nice to stay and travel by train to near attraction spots ex. Geibekei.

worn down, smoky and dirty”
Booked a non-smoking room, was given a smoking room. Went back to the reception and advised that I had requested a non-smoking room. Receptionist checked the computer and said none are available so I asked for a refund. All of a sudden, after checking again, there was a non-smoking room! The new room was stuffy, someone definitely had smoked in there, but the air was much better than the previous room, so I settled. The room and the hotel in general have a worn down look to it. Grey towels that were once white. Bathroom was full of mould all over ...breakfast was just ok. The key has one of those massive key chains, intended for you to leave it at the reception whenever you go out, but coming back and saying your room number to non English speaking staff to get the key back was an ordeal. I wouldn't stay here again.
