I stayed for the first time for 2 nights and 3 days (I hardly stay when traveling), but the staff were friendly and provided good guidance, and the rooms were clean. When making a reservation, the allocation of rooms with and without bathtubs was random, so it was a shame that I got a room without a bathtub, but it wasn't a problem because I should have looked into it more before making the reservation haha. Since there are many mountains around, the view is really nice on a clear day, and there were more parking spaces than expected. There were also small things to see, such as fountains and swings, which were nice. I usually don't use breakfast when I travel because I'm busy sleeping, but I was curious and tried the hwangtae (dried pollack) grilled fish set, and it was really delicious and satisfying because there was a lot of food. There were more things to see and enjoy than I expected, so 2 nights and 3 days were not enough. My boyfriend said he wants to use this place again next time, so I'm satisfied that I made a good reservation. I had a good rest and will come again next time! Next time, I'll go for a room with a bathtub haha.

It was great to stay in such a clean and nice accommodation on a trip with children. The staff were also friendly. The remodeling was done well, so it was very clean. It was also great to be close to the Sokcho Jungang Market and near Seoraksan. I booked it because the reviews were good, and it was indeed great.

There is a Chinese door at the entrance, and there is a toilet before entering the bedroom through the Chinese door :) First of all, it is divided by the Chinese door, and sometimes there are hotels that are not separated from the shoe cabinet~ This place is divided so that you can enter directly, and the toilet is also well maintained with clean walls! The convenience store was opened after asking at the information desk, and if you plan to use more products, it is recommended to go to the convenience store because there is not much stock in the convenience store~! We went for ice cream and simple drinks, and although there were not many types of ice cream (Polar Pops, Melona?, Chocolate), there were still some (various types of cup ramen), drinks, and snacks available~ The view was not a mountain view because I used the remaining room, but it was a view of the mountains in the distance, and the window had a good mosquito net, so I could open the window and enjoy the mountain air// The only slightly disappointing thing is the freezer?! It's a refrigerator, so you can't freeze ice cream or cool packs in the summer, so please keep that in mind when using it :)

Last year, I stayed at the Hanwha Resort building, but it was not good at all... So, I had to find another place to stay and I discovered this place, which was completely satisfying! The exterior was shabby, but the interior was remodeled, so I was able to stay in a clean accommodation for the first time in a long time! If I go again, I will definitely go to Amaranth ㅋㅋ Also, for convenience facilities, I used the convenience store in the training center across the street, and it was close enough to walk, so I was also satisfied!

Wow! I can't say enough nice things about Hotel Amaranth. I was greeted by very friendly staff. The afternoon receptionist speaks great English, and while the others did not speak much English, we were able to communicate easily using translate apps and simple phrases. I was especially impressed that the hotel provided a printout with their policies in English AND the local bus information (stop times, destinations, important routes). It was very helpful. Second, the room was terrific! The hotel seems to have been recently remodeled, and everything in my room was new and in excellent condition. The lighting was great, and the wifi was free and strong. Also, the room was spacious and SPOTLESS -- so clean! The mattress was soft (not the usual very hard Korean mattress), the pillows fluffy, and the bedding also very fresh. The bathroom was spacious, clean, and very nice, with good amenities (the shower gel smelled really great). There was a small balcony (big enough for one person to stand on), and a wonderful view of Seoraksan and Ulsanbawi Rock. I loved the table and two chairs for sitting. It was very quiet, too. Although the hotel is a bit outside of downtown, that was not a problem. The bus stop into town is literally across the street. Although it does not run frequently (and is usually about 10 minutes late), if you plan accordingly you can get to Seoraksan National Park, the Tourist Fishery Market (just across the water from Abai Village -- a short 500 KRW ferry ride), and Sokcho Beach in short order (less than 30 minutes once you board the bus). Taxis are also readily available and inexpensive (about 6000W -- $6 -- one-way to downtown). There are two well-stocked convenience stores a short walk down the street from the hotel. I liked Hotel Amaranth so much, I extended my stay an extra night (which they were happy to accomodate). I will DEFINITELY stay here again on my next visit to Sockcho!
