Where to stay in Tioman Island
Tioman Island hotels & accommodations

Our annual trip to Tioman Island and will never missed out this hotel. This is one of the best place to be in Tioman Island. Restaurant staff are very attentive and they clean the table all the time and good service. Huge compound and perhaps need motorbike or bicycle to move around within the resort lol. Golf course, dive center and other resort facilities... Good for...

Our stay at Coconut Grove was AMAZING!!! We stayed 3 nights this week at 1511 Coconut Grove, on the eastern/Juara side of Tioman Island. We had a total of 5 nights on Tioman Island, but our final 2 nights were booked on the western side of the island at the Berjaya Tioman Resort. I am pleasantly surprised to say that our experience at 1511 Coconut Grove exceeded AL...

Drinking water fountain provided for water refill. - Location: Great, very near t...

If you are looking for a nice and calm place to stay on the Tioman island, the resort would be a good choice for you. It is situated directly on the beach and there are not too many people there. For malaysia it is normally clean and the food is also typical for the malaysian cuisine. Do not expect an european breakfast, lunch or dinner but for us the malaysian cuisine...

We could not believe that some people had scored the Selesa so low because we had a lovely 5 days there and couldn't fault the apartments. Yes they may be slightly dated but they were really clean, so so spacious (we had 2 bedrooms!) and the air con worked perfectly. The pool was absolutely beautiful and it was huge, and the hotel put a free shuttle on every hour into ...

This is a delightful amazing place !!! Cosy cottages standing in the middle of the wild jungle of Tioman island, have a private shower and air conditioning. This hotel is suitable for people who like to enjoy nature. The room does not even have a TV, and that's a plus. Wi-Fi exists only in the common dining room. Good cheerful helpful staff. We will definitely visit th...

Honestly this was the best stay I have had on my travels, from the location, to the staff everything was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. Everyone was so friendly and it quickly felt like home, I had to move to other accommodation further up the beach half way through my time at Tioman and found my self going back their for my meals, drinks or just to catch ...

Superb in short! This is actually the 2nd time my husband and myself visited Japamala, basically we love everything about the resort, the nice and friendly staffs, especially the resident manager - Aruni. The resort contains only 13 rooms in total, therefore it's very private and not packed at all as compared to the other resorts in Tioman Island. We love to hangout ...

The staffs were so friendly and very helpful. Nice beach, great ambience and the chalet is spacious, fine and quiet. We really had fun there. No regret to choose Kg. Juara as the place to stay in Tioman. Everything's perfect. The only thing we had facing flaw is the bed got dead insects but we can tolerate with that.

It was a great experience staying here. We were actuay coming three of us but we booked a room for 2 and when we came to check in, the staff offered us a room for 4 people instead. But we love the room so much so we chose to stay the room we booked. The place was 5min walking distance to the beach and 15min walking to the small islands for self-snorkelling. It was very...

I was really amazed this trip thanks to the kindful family !! If you come to Tioman Island to escape the people and to enjoy the real nature, this is the best place. Tioman has several points to visit such as Genting, Paya and ABC. Paya is also nice as a typical touristic place. But here, Mukut is very peaceful and quite place with beatiful ocean and stars. I thank th...

A little paradise! The staff accompanied me to go for snorkelling each time. I was well taking care of by he staff. The highlight is to feed the wild baby sharks after dinner under the stary sky. This was the second best experience after the chase of the Northern lights. The half board package is worth it. The tranquil location was just I needed for a relaxed holiday. N...

This resort is the most well run, well maintained, and best place to stay in Juara on Tioman Island, especially if you're travelling in a group. The rooms are amazing, they have great water pressure in the showers, cool & quiet air conditioning, comfy beds and you even have a kettle if you feel inclined to make tea. The food is impeccable. Delicious, tasty AND! real...

the beach right next to the hotel is great. the staff of the hotel is very friendly! if you're there the scuba tour the hotel offers for very reasonable price (we paid around 15€ per person, depends on how many ppl take the tour) is an absolute must. hotel also offers diving tour, but we didnt take it. we didn't bring a credit card and therefore ran out of money b...

Marine Bay was brilliant for me and my two teenage children, with basic, clean accommodation. Genting has a fantastic, chilled atmosphere - but a word of warning - cards are not accepted outside the dive shops and one restaurant we found, and there is no ATM in Genting, so you will need cash for your entire stay. We didn’t bring enough but the proprietor was a star ...

The location is great, the staff are kind, but there were a few too many cockroaches and ants for my liking. Killed 5, maybe 6 cockroaches within 10 minutes of arriving. When I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I had ants crawling all over the bathroom which obviously surprised me while half-asleep. The room looked neat on arrival, but there were some cr...

Stayed here only two nights to take a short trip diving. Wished I stayed longer. First of all, the staff learns your name and pretty much greets you by name throughout the duration of my stay. That's a nice touch that made me feel very welcomed. Second of all, this place is extremely clean, has a large bathroom with a rain shower. The rooms has a AC, a sizable flatscre...

It was indeed a great experience staying in Tioman on this beach facing chalet with access to the white sands just a few meters away... A good place to relax. The staff is very good, friendly and cooperative. No reservations to recommending this to a family looking for a decent budget stay option.

The chalet is 10 minutes walk from the jetty. Our room and the bathroom is clean. Staff also friendly and try their best to satisfy customer. Only the cons is the wall is a bit thin. The neighbour are drunk and really loud. But we just ignored because of the tiredness

It is a bit tricky to get in/out Mukut by boat but Sam and Alif were very helpful all time. Cataferry might go direct to Mukut depending on the season. There is only one small supermarket with few things so better take supplies from mainland or Genting as fruit or bread. There are a few restaurants in Mukut very nice though. Good roti canai near the school!! Perfect ...

Real reviews for hotels
It's a wonderful place, but choose some good place to stay like Nazri's place in ABC. Where your hotel is, matters most.
There are many cats on Tioman island. If you are a cat lover, you should consider bringing some kitty food for these hungry furries! The ride from Tanjung Gemok/Mersing jetty to Tioman can be a little bit jerky.
Tioman island was known for its beautiful under the sea life. However, my recent visit after 22 years was unfortunately disappointing.
Overall, good place for relaxing. Worthwhile visiting various beach and waterfall. The place is indeed natural wonder.
I've been to some islands before, but Tioman is special to me. It's an awesome place for diving and relaxing.
There are many different areas on the island itself. The one I went to was Paya. It is supposedly the cheapest to stay there.
Tioman is a good place for holiday. However, they have to improve the system and traffic at jetty. This was a poor experience when we waiting ferry at jetty.
there really isn't much to do other than beach, swim, snorkel, diving and maybe some other sports or activities.
generally quite a beautiful island to travel to. have to book the ferry tickets early and becareful of getting "fake" tickets.
Too difficult to get to. Ferry check ins are impossible, inefficient and I won't be going again as it took us 9 hours to get there and 12 hours to get home to Singapore! Buses late and badly organised and queues at ferry for "seat number", tax, getting into the departure hall, getting out of the departure hall, getting into the ferry, etc.
This island is great for sea-lovers and excellent for those looking for a getaway from bustling city life.
The tedious/confusing/beuracratic process of getting there was a bad start. Thought things will be systematic, but upon boarding the ferry, people sat freely, and created sitting confusion/dispute.
i think everything is good, but the Efficiency of the jetty was really poor. we are buying the 10.30 ticket, but we delay until 12.
Expecations were high, but Tioman has not developed in a sustainable way in comparison to other islands.
There's really nothing much to see and do on Tioman. Went there on a romantic getaway but the romance died off on the 2nd day
A duty free island. Alcohol drink are cheap, but the choc are expensive. After the build of the airport, only few place are left behind as great diving site.
it is a relatively large island, but the beaches are not connected together, from one beach to another, you can only by speedboat taxi, and it is relatively expensive.
Everything good except ferry to this island. We waited 6hours for the Ferry from Tioman to Mersing .
One of the greatest island "Pulau" in Malaysia. I would say that the South part is definitely the best one.
Tioman Island is a good place for relaxing. There have a nice beach in some area, beautiful coral at few coral island.
Sea is clear and beautiful. Snorkeling is a must do at the island. Food is nice. So are the people. A good place to relax and away from city noises.
Tioman Island is just 2-3 hours land and 1 hour sea travel from Singapore. It's a great destination for nature lover.
This was my 1st time to Tioman with my children and friends and we really enjoy this trip. Snorkelling and fishing was wonderful and we can see clear water beaches and also corals from the jetty at paya area.
A stunning underrated island with lots to offer. Take a drive through the island and experience the hills and stunning flora and fauna on the island.
Tioman is a calm and serene place. Water is amazingly clear and is good for snorkelling/swimming. If relaxation is what you have in mind it is the rightmost place in entire SE Asia.
Accessible dive and snorkeling site in Malaysia. Best time to go will be during the dive season when there is clearer water.
Tioman is a great place for a short getaway. Reasonably accessible from Malaysia with friendly people who can speak English very well.
if you are interested in snorkeling and diving this is the place for you. they have several dive sites which are truly amazing.
Nipah is where we stayed. It is pristine and isolated and that is exactly what we wanted. We used our time to relax and wind down.
