"The hotel building looks old from the outside but the rooms seems to have been renovated not that long ago and seems new. For the price, I think you will be mostly satisfied with this hotel even though of course there will be better hotels in Shanghai at a higher price. The staff are polite and efficient even though communications in English may be difficult for them but that is a problem you will encounter in many places in Shanghai."

"I booked a twin room for my teenage 2 children who were travelling from Japan to New Zealand via Seoul and Shanghai. They said the staff were friendly and very helpful and spoke some English. The room was clean and tidy - they had a great sleep. The buffet breakfast was lovely and although it was predominantly meat-based, there were enough vegetarian options for them to be satisfied - including vegetarian steamed buns! The hotel itself was very nice, lovely decor and the location was fantastic, so easy to find, right at the airport - you can't get any closer than that! The wi-fii was easily accessible - use Bing instead of Google (its blocked in China) and you'll have no problems with access. The staff offered to hold their baggage while they did a day trip into Shanghai and gave them a ticket to produce when collecting their bags later. In summary the children said it was a great stay and would definitely recommend it. All of the staff were so helpful. Thank you so much Da Zhong Pudong Airport Hotel for taking such good care of my children!"

"It was my first time to stay at CitizenM. Location is convenient that it was closed to a huge shopping mall (about 5 mins walk). Suitable for business traveller and people who would like to explore the Hongqiao dist. as it’s closed to National Convention Centre and Hongqiao airport. A young and energetic hotel that brighten our trip in Shanghai. The room surprised me as it was very smart that I could customise lights, AC, blinds, media via an iPad. In addition, I liked how the bathroom used aircraft-like materials and looked very refreshing. We had a lot of fun staying at citizenM with its facilities and its artistic interior design and ornaments. The breakfast was also delicious and my friends and I loved it! Would recommend it to friends and family. "

"It was a tough decision for my friend and I to choose hotel in Shanghai knowing the standard and rate in China can be quite different from other countries. We glad that we chose Grand Central despite some reviews said it has slow wifi. We had no problem with it and in fact even VPN works well for me. We love the fact that it is near Nanjing east station and it is very convenient (Family Mart is just behind the hotel, shopping district is just less than 5 minutes). It only cost us about RMB170 from Pudong airport to the hotel but it costs more from hotel to airport (RMB220).The only thing is we book the promo rate which is without breakfast, so can comment much on the food. Overall it was a pleasant stay. We will definitely go back if we are going to Shanghai again."

"This was our second stay at the Jia, Shanghai, and it's definitely our choice of hotel when we travel to Shanghai. We could only stay 2 nights and would loved to have stayed longer as it's such a beautiful place to chill, do business, shop and eat! This was our first experience at the restaurant and it was magic - we arrived late and they were still serving food - they had a great selection of food (light dishes as well as mains) and good wine and beer selection - the breakfasts were also fantastic - the best English muffin and poached eggs - ever!"

"Basic and near to airport ( 15 to 20 minutes ) driving distance. Hotel provides free shuttle service from 5am till 12pm. Every hour has a route from hotel to Pudong airport. Few similar hotels at that area but this is the best as the convenient shop just right beside and there are few restaurants/shop lots behind. Confirmed with front desk if you need a ride to airport and receptionist will ring you for morning call half an hour before the ride. * receptionists don't really speak English..only Chinese so be prepared if you are not able to speak English"

"We’d stayed in IFC Residence from July 25 to August 21. We have to say it is definitely the best apartment hotel in Shanghai, with respect to the location, the staff and the elegant facilities provided. Starting from check-in, you were welcomed by friendly and efficient reception staff. During our stay, whether it was for calling a taxi or for some sightseeing tips, the reception or concierge team was always ready to give help! To name a few, thank you Helen, Michelle, Alice and Kiki... thank you Jami and Frank... in general, the whole team is worthy to be complimented! What makes it outstanding is the fact, besides the elegant hotel as it is; you are always greeted & served with friendly smiling staff! A Big Bravo to Yvonne, the newly landed manager from Hotel Ritz Calton Shanghai, who has obviously brought with her the elegant customer service concept to her team in IFC Residence. The other best point is location, which is unique in Lujiazhui. Simply by opening the hotel door, an excellent mall is in front of you, where you could find various choices of the restaurant, or the access to the subway, etc... With respect to the breakfast, the choice is basic. However, the restaurant manager Leo is always there listening to your need; Service girl Coco would bring a cup of coffee with two sugar bags to me whenever seeing me come to breakfast. A wonderful personal touch! We had a wonderful time in Shanghai, due to all the convenience provided by IFC Residence and its team! We will certainly recommend it to friends and those who would like to explore Shanghai starting from Pudong! "

"we had a great stay at the urbn hotel in shanghai. the service was very friendly and efficient. loved the way it was all put together using recycled materials. quite clever and original. tastefully done too! it was very pleasant waking up to birds singing outside in the courtyard. the high ceilings painted in a rusty red was very unique and effective in making the room very charming. the floor to ceiling windows let in lots of sunlight. loved the large sitting area that made a perfect daybed for our 8 year old son to sleep on at night. rooms were spacious and and well planned. however, it was impossible to use the bathroom without bothering my husband as there was no way to turn on the lights in the bathroom without affecting him in bed. i also had food poisoning from the last day at breakfast. it was probably just a one off thing though. did not have any problems the day before. the bed was also quite hard. this is personal i guess. overall, it had a cool vibe and i would still highly recommend this hotel. "First time stay in Putuo District in Shanghai and I decided to book a service apartment convenient for a family of 3 (parents & toddler). Experience: * 07/14 (Saturday) morning arrival: - Mgmt provided the first available cleaned & ready room (master bedroom w/ bathroom inside 2FL). - Informed that there was 2 different room configurations (1 is master bedroom,; 1 is bathroom on 1FL). - I telephoned the front desk to request for the other room configuration when available after daily guest checkout. The front desk agreed and advised my family to rest up inside the current room. - Late afternoon: Management called and informed that the new room was avail & will send a bell-hop to help move our luggage into the new room. - After indicating a concern with a bell-hop pressuring us for a tip, mgmt met with us to apologize and indicated this was not a company protocol. Tip was returned and provided a meal vouchers. * I decided to book 2 more evenings here. * TRUST - Modena (LINDA)"
