"Staff was very helpful and friendly. Location is near HSR station and major mall. Won't have trouble to get food either... Within walking distance, there are many eateries. It is above a shophouse with office operation downstairs and rather small. Suggest a medium luggage as rooms are located on 3rd floor. "

"I was initially skeptical with all the good reviews about the B&B but i went ahead with the booking, but oh boy!! the B&B is really like what the other reviewers have mentioned (big and comfy beds, with a nice scent in the room, free flow of fruits and drinks with free breakfast, and free coffee- they no longer prepare and cut it for you, you can self service :D). Mr Xu and the aunties are all very helpful and in order to make the staying experience better, you can see them constantly trying to upgrade the room (they added in our room a standing lamp and changed our towels). Be careful with the amenities (shampoo and shower gel were in glass bottles and my mom accidentally broke one (sorry Mr Xu!)). We met a group of Taiwanese and they mentioned that this B&B was recently rated the no.1 minsu in Kaohsiung! Usually i will not stay at the same minsu if i were to return to a place, but this minsu is definitely one with the highest CP value and I will definitely head back to stay if i were to visit Kaohsiung again!"

"I stayed in Kaohsiung for 3 days. My first hotel was horrible so I opted to check others and stayed in Khan the following day (very last minute booking) Upon arrival, the front desk person was very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, carpeted and has the things you need (it even has a fridge). The pillow was not the cotton fluffy type but was acceptable. Also, they will give a guide to where you can eat near the hotel. cons: no breakfast. a bit of walking from mrt but tolerable overall, my mom and I enjoyed our stay here."

"This hotel is underrated. It doesn't have as many amenities as some others such as the Ambassador, but the room is perfect and the staff is great...VERY clean and VERY comfortable. They don't speak much English, but enough. If you don't care about having a river/harbor view, La Ping will beat any other more highly starred hotel in Kaohsiung. We will be staying at this hotel again on return trips. "

"Jeff's cozy home has made my trip in Kaohsiung much easier and happier. Jeff was super nice and helpful in providing help with my heavy suitcase, drinks and snacks everyday, useful travel information, and a pack of snacks for me to take away at the end of the trip. I was so delighted that the room was spacious and well-lit; the interior design is both artsy and practical. I enjoyed every minute staying in the room including finishing up one of the books (by Ando Tadao) Jeff provided for guests. I was also delighted that I could use the washing machine and air-dry laundry on the top floor (there is also a dryer). Jeff and his wife were so generous that they allowed me to use their kitchen to heat lunch box and shared with me their stories. Their two little ones, Hehe and Chuanchuan are just cute to chat with (sometimes they are too cool to respond to my questions). Because of change of plan, I arrived a few days later than planned. For the non-refundable part, Jeff kindly allowed me to stay one more night for free. The location is great too. I enjoyed walking in the green neighborhood seeing the old people cooling off and chatting in the alley. For most of the days I walked to the place where I did my project --- a good walk in summer heat. I took uber sometimes and it's a convenient location for Uber or taxi. Overall Jeff's home is a perfect choice for my trip. I look forward to visiting it next time when I come to Kaohsiung! Thanks, Jeff and your family for your hospitality! "

"One of the best deals I've ever encountered on my travels - comfortable single room with new fixtures, an enjoyable breakfast buffet on the ground floor, and even CNN and a couple of other English-language stations on cable TV, for much less than what you would expect to pay for all this. It's only a couple of minutes on foot from the nearest MRT station, which doesn't take too long to get to from either the airport or Zuoying High Speed Rail station. The only thing is that the internet was slow at times during the night. "

"I stayed there total of 5 nights, I would recommend my friends to stay there when in Kaohsiung. Hotel looks new and trendy enough, although single room is small but everything needed was there(except a fridge i suppose but i didn't need it). A nice touch for the coffee machine at ground floor and there's a laundry room for travelers to wash our laundry(self-serve coin machine, there's dryer too). Buffet was nice enough but style doesn't change much. Something to work on would be the sound-proofing of the rooms could be better. I can basically hear every word outside the corridor and the sound of TV when I'm at the corridor. Staff was great and efficient and provided me help with all my requests. I suppose there;s different design in each level and rooms, suitable for family to stay too. "
