Hangzhou hotels & accommodations

We stayed there a couple years ago and never had a second thought about paying another visit. You almost can’t beat this hotel’s location, just a 10-minute walk to West Lake and the busiest shopping district in Hangzhou. There’s a metro station there as well. As for the hotel, large, spacious and very clean rooms with a fresh fruit plate every day. Most basic ameni...

Me and my boyfriend visited Hangzhou during Easter break and stayed at Xihu State Guest House for 2 days. It was a pleasant stay - the hotel was converted from two mansion houses built in 1900s. The hotel itself is like a big garden, with trees, flowers, pavilions and even direct and exclusive access to West Lake. Room is clean and comfortable. The Chinese restaurant i...

This is our first time ever to stay in a hotel under the Wyndham chain of hotels. I must say that I am truly impressed by the friendliness and attentiveness of the hotel staff at Wyndham Hangzhou. The moment we alighted at the lobby area, the bell boy promptly helped us with our luggages and ushered us to the check in counter. The check in process was prompt an...

Hotel is 5 and 3 stations away from Hangzhou East and Hangzhou Main Railway station by the subway. It's directly linked to the subway via the mall using Exit C4. Linked to Kerry Shopping mall, which is a kids friendly mall with numerous eatries and Ole supermarket. If you come from the main China cities (e.g. Shanghai), the food options are not that exciting as most o...

Took my parents to visit Hangzhou. Glad that I booked Xizi hotel. The ground is one of most beautiful garden in China with pleasant smell of fragrant tea olive in October. It has very long shoreline of West Lake and great views of most sightseeing points of the lake. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They transported us to and from different gates since any tim...

Hangzhou is very Romantic city and Shangri-La Hotel in Hangzhou west lake scenic area perfectly arranged our stay in harmony with the nature. My daughter, and uncle stayed there three days and enjoyed the environment so much in its Horizon Club. It was my second stay there. Shangri-La Hotel in Hangzhou is very natural, peaceful, calm and the people in there are so so s...

We were offered a free upgrade. The hotel is linked to the GDA shopping mall and from basement 2 of GDA, there is a linkway to the Theatre as well as Metro (Train). Very convenient. There is also a local market about 05 minutes walk away to look at local produce. There is a lovely pool and gym. But do remember to bring along the swimming cap as it is required in m...

I'm traveling on business at Hangzhou China frequently, and I am staying a the Grand Metropark Hotel Hangzhou at most time. At the recent staying at this hotel (2018. 09. 10 ~ 2018. 09. 13, Room 1605), Cheng Li and Xiao Xing the receptionists give me good service as changing my room into twin beds, arranging my courier package and explaining hotel complimentary service...

I went there during a Chinese holiday and was surprised that the hotel was not so busy. I suppose because of the location. Really not convenient that every time you want to go around the West lake and the main attractions of Hangzhou, you need at least a 30 mins cab. Besides that issue, the stay went very well, service was friendly, the breakfast had a lot of good opt...

spent 2 days at the hangzhou during the china national day holiday. stayed the hayatt regency hangzhou. frist time to stay there although knew the hotel for the long time. hotel was great with very convenient location. the lake was just right in front of the hotel. since it was long holiday, traffic was bad. everywhere was packed with people and cars. took us 30...

It was a pleasant stay, we traveled in a group of four, rented two rooms. My room is clean and comfortable, due to limited budget we booked both rooms without window under a promo deal, very good value of money. But without windows, it is hard to know whether it's already sunrise, must set alarm clock to alert ourselves about the time. Our room in Ibis is clean, with...

I was impressed with the size of the room with a separate bedroom, living room area, large bathroom and the kitchen. Athought I was there only one night, I felt like I was "at a home away from home". Location is excellent, Oakwood is located within very modern shoping complex with close proximity to major turists attractions (walking distance). Hotel staff was very fri...

We were blessed by the great weather for our stay in Hangzhou. We opted for the premier water terrace suite but was given a tour of their villa for our consideration which we really appreciate. However, we stucked to our choice and we were glad that we did. The room was spacious, stocked with amenities and exquisite tea sets. It was clean and everytime we returned, we...

The hotel is located outside the overseas-tourist area, but reasonably close to West Lake if that’s your principal destination in Hangzhou; with a little extra effort to achieve the Grand Canal. None is a problem. The rooms are quite small, but, if its an issue, very clean and sufficiently equipped. But you do get what you pay for; and you pay for - a room. Nothing els...

i had a brief ttip to Hangzhou, and if i'd had any idea, i would have stayed 5+ days. Considering i only use a hotel for safe sleeping, the Sofitel fit the bill. It is a little bit dated and could use some freshening up. But i am not there to chill in a hotel room. The room is comfortably sized and the beds are large and comfy too. A nice bathroom as well. Only "comp...

Hotel is located at the west side of west lake, at a less crowded location. 5 only walk from the hotel access to part of the lake is even more beautiful than those famous attraction on the lake. Hotel Front desk are very friendly and helpful. Help us to arrange a taxi using her private phone when the booking hot line can't get a taxi. Opposite hotel in a local resident...

From check in to the room is great. It was my second stay there. However I need to commend on the cafe that serves breakfast. The hot food section does not taste good and the selection is mediocre. Spring roll is dry bacon is not crispy to name a few. Fruit selection is few and the cold cuts tasted horrible. Apart from that staffs are not even attentive and a distinct...

This is one of the most strategically located hotels in Hangzhou and the cleanliness and friendly staff at the hotel makes it a bargain!! Rooms are tidy, clean and big. It has a great cafe for business meetings and hotel staff are extremely helpful. A plus point would be its closeness to nice restaurants and night spots (such as Paramount, etc). Various steamboat resta...

Relaxing and comfortable hotel in Hangzhou. Location was a bit off but it is located next to xi xi wetlands. A very relaxing hotel and the bed sheets is made of silk. Toilet design is very modern and very functional. Staff was fairly friendly. There was a blackout but the hotel did not seem to handle it well as I had to call many times to find out what happened. Breakf...

the structure of the hotel is fascinating, with sphere-like structure making it easily recognisable, the vastness of the hollow space inside the hotel is incredible, it would be expensive to cool the area, the interior uses luxurious material making it very beautiful, although all rooms are situated at the outer part of the sphere, we do not feel the room is not actual...

I enjoyed my three night stay. The Wuyang appears to have been quite recently refurbished. It is very nicely appointed and scrupulously clean. None of the staff I dealt with, except one, spoke any English. I speak a little Mandarin, so I got by and the English speaking staff member was very helpful. It was raining on my last evening and I chose to dine in the hotel res...

This is the closest hotel to the Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport. Complimentary airport transfers run frequently and take less than 5 minutes. It is a great place to stay before an early morning departure or after a late night arrival. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are new, clean and comfortable. However, the cost of a room is a bit pricey, breakfast...

Best hotel that I've stayed over in Hangzhou. Staff over at Reception is nice and friendly. Very approachable and professional! Had a pleasant stay. Staff Lucy is the staff that I would like to complement of her professionalism and going over the extra miles in helping my check in and other request.

The staff were very accommodating and waited up until 1AM for us to arrive. The hostel itself is well-equipped, with a restaurant/bar, lots of games, garden and a lovely dog :) I had a twin room with my sister, and the beds were big, the bathroom very clean and nothing looked dated or worn. Would absolutely recommend this place for anyone staying. The price was good to...

The room was awesome! We stayed in several 4-5 stars hotels in China and this one was by far the best room. Clean, luxurious, extra soft beds, spoiling bath tub.. It definitely made our stay in Hangzhou enjoyable. Room-wise this hotel seriously deserves 5 stars. The location isn't amazing though, unless you want to do some fashion shopping (in Western- not Chinese- pri...

I like to thanks to All front desk and Managers for their excellent services during ours stay. It's hard to find all staffs are always smile in China, you know what i mean if you often visit china Nice lobby and nice ladies / gentlemen since ours first steps in to The East Hangzhou Hotel Spacious rooms with complete amenities and very relaxing - aromatherapy shower...
Cheap places to stay in Hangzhou

The hotel is centrally located about 10 minutes' walk from Westlake and Hefang Old Street, which is AWESOME and All of Hangzhou major hot spots are easily accessible on foot. The staff in the hostel are very friendly and kind, always there to help. (something not usually in China)

A great hostel experience! The best of hangzhou right here This hostel is one of the best that I have stayed in anywhere, not just in China. Location, location location. simply could not find a better spot in Hangzhou. A quiet and charming old alley tucked against a mountain side at the edge of the bustling city. venture into mountain area behind via old stone stair...

A nice hostel with friendly boss. Although i ruin his chinese tea pot, he did not get much angry and forgive me. The chinese style decoration makes the hostel classic, but unforturately the english address typed wrong. It made me more difficult to find the hotel. Also, if you get to hangzhou at winter like me, you better do not afraid of cold weather since the hot wate...

it located in college town but sincerely little unexpected on the location. The traffic is not very convenience. Little far away from subway station( almost 20 mins walk). apart from this, others are good...oh the sound insulation is not very good. But the equipments in toilet are excellent! I'd prefer the shower

Just a great place. Every part of it is interesting and charming. It has real character. The rooms are elegant and tasteful and make a wonderful hideaway. The friendly staff members speak good English and are both welcoming and quite flexible. Even the drinks are reasonably priced. I can't imagine staying anywhere else at this point. I am a pretty cranky and demanding ...

Clean and new furnishing, complete 2012. Walking 5 mins to Hangzhou South Railway station. Main purpose is to sleep over from late night flight arrival at Hangzhou airport. Room is small, but sufficient and comfortable for the purpose, especially its very reasonbly priced. Local fastfood outlet at hotel's ground floor.

this hotel is close to the subway station, and is only one station away from hangzhou railway station. but the hotel itself is unpleasant: tobacco smoke everywhere, and the bathroom stinks of ammonia. it is impossible to adjust aircon, it is either too cold or hot. if you want to use lan connection, you need to buy a cable from the reception.

Although it is a 10-15min walk from the West Lake and longer from many restaurants, this hostel has a warm and family atmosphere where you love to come back. It has a nice garden, great reading/bar/leisure area, and good facilities. It was one of the cleanest places we stayed in China! Very friendly and helpful staff too!

We had a good stay even though booking this hotel was a HUGE mistake in terms of location with regards to the West Lake, which is the primary reason why anyone goes to Hangzhou in the first place. It cost us nearly 100 yuan to get to the lake from the hotel. The next day we opted to get there by a combination of bus and metro but that type of commute is not for everyon...

Staff are very helpful, they even lend me charger when my charger doesnt fit to China's plug. Not many eatery nearby especially at night so suggesting to take lunch/dinner before back to hotel. Location is very relaxing and quite. Love the room. Recommended

Stayed at Green Tree Hangzhou for 3 nights. Room was very clean and the bed was soft and comfortable, which can be a rarity in China. Hotel is located in a nice walking-only street so it was very quiet. Shower only had warm water, but the bathroom tap had hot water for some reason. A fridge would have been nice to store some drinks in summer, but there is a convenience...

The hotel staff have minimal English so you'll either need translation assistance or Chinese language skills despite this they are quite helpful and willing to serve all of your needs regardless of the language barrier. Room was interior was nice. Didnt use any other of the hotel facilities, was only there for a one night stay. I would recommend to others.

Me & a colleague visited Hangzhou on 23 April 2019 for a Business meeting with a Machine Supplier. I booked this Hotel online. The Hotel itself is pretty nice, spacious rooms, good amenities, I really liked the soothing blue night light in the bathroom & rooms. However, it was a bit far from Hangzhou East Railway Station & the place of our meeting. Except for the dista...

My stay at HZIH was fantastic, I even ended up adding an extra night. Although it's not close to the city, it was right around the corner from my office, so suited me perfectly. Staff was very attentive, and really took the time to help me out. This was despite a basic grasp of English, but hey, i was in China and I didn't speak Chinese, so I wasn't helping the situati...

I don't think my review will do Rock & Wood Cozy House justice. I had such a wonderful time staying 3 nights here. The host was extremely hospitable, friendly, and conscientious. When you first enter (and every time thereafter), you're greeted with a smile and warmness. The house is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. There is a common area where you can hang out, gra...

Vienna International hotel is conveniently located near the Hangzhou East Train Station, where the city metro (mrt) is located. When we reached the train station, it took us about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the hotel after asking for direction from the info counter. Can't help comparing the direction given by the info counter given here and that at Japan, here the d...

this is a decent to good hotel for business-travellers. you have all your essential needs covered there (internet-access, room-service, parking if you come with your own car) as of march 2011 the hotel is still pretty new - and of course a newly opened hotel is always a better hotel. staff can speak - however well english - so international travellers will have no big ...

we stayed in the hotel for a period of 3 nights and instantly felt welcomed by the staff. The hotel certainly lives up to its 4 star rating (unlike some others in China) with the quality of rooms and amenities well worth the price. This hotel complimented our stay in Hangzhou very well and would recommend this to anyone (business or leisure travel) considering a trip t...

It was a last min trip, which i have to fly in Hangzhou airport, meeting then take train to 3rd tier city. Pick a brand hotel in easy access area become my top priority. I was really release when i check in the lobby, because i know this hotel is fairly new, and also under good management. Room is big and even the restaurant was very worth to try.

Nice stay. Staff did not speak english but good for me because I am learning Chinese. Beds where really surprisingly good . Better then many 5 star hotels. Its quite important cause in china you have a lot of hotels with hard beds. Rooms also like the standard of like the best boutique orange hotels in China. One think that is not necessary bad but one has to encounte...

I was stay here with my friend. The location was great, only two station from hangzhou east railway station, we stop at Xintang station and two minutes walk to the hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The staf were friendly but the big problem is they can't speak english. Very recommended hotel if you have early morning train schedule.

Stay for 2 nights, a good 4 star. easy access to mrt line 4, mega shopping malls nearby with restaurants and cinemas, a pleasant walk along the nearby qiantang river, free wifi. The hotel is new, overall the decor looks great, however upon checking in the bathroom floor was not that clean, the room window can be opened for fresh air. Various English TV channels availab...

A beautiful hotel I think great for chinese people but nobody except the general manager speaks english , do you really want to take the elevator on the way to your room with 2 locals smoking cigarettes in front of the non smoking sign ... this is Mercure by accor certainly But it all in chinese ...,,,

Travelling together with a 5 years old. Very nice hotel, though a bit hard to locate at first. Great ambiance in the hotel, very good and attentive services by the hotel staff, they even help to call taxi and carry my luggage to the taxi to send us off on the last day. Recommended and definitely will stay here again in the future

I would stay here again when traveling to Hangzhou. There is shopping nearby and West Lake is very close (only a few minutes by taxi). There are some nice local restaurants nearby, mostly local mom/pop shops, but sometimes that's where the best food is. We used room service several times for items we needed and the response was very quick and friendly.

I spent 2 nights at the Chefle hotel. For the money, it is maybe the best value that I have gotten at a hotel. The rooms were clean and well designed. Nothing to write home about, but everything was well done. The hotel architecture is both beautiful and unique. In terms of location, it is in a quiet neighborhood along a river canal. It is not close to the best a...

Good view of nature surrounding. Good for family with kids for weekend stay. But location is far from Hangzhou town area. Breakfast was fairly good with lots variety to choose. The hotel is well decorated. Location is good with a big shopping mall (and CGV) right behind the hotel. But if you want to travel to west lake, lingyin, longjing village, you should consider to stay in west lake (xihu) dist. Staff can speak limited English but they promptly responsed to my request at any time. Overall, I have good time when stay here. I should have sp...

- Rooms are very nice, spacious, well maintained and clean - There is a nice atmosphere on the property - Locations is pretty good, although it is difficult to get a cab (like anywhere in hangzhou) - Service is a bit disappointing, definitely not on 5-star level - Breakfast is very simple and definitely not on 5-star level

This is one of the best hotel in Yugu Road. Its new and clean, indeed the staff is also super friendly and tried their best to help me. Its walking distance to zhejiang university given we went to hangzhou because of checking on zhe jiang university. A lot of good food around the hotel

There is no any compliment by saying this is the best resort I've ever stay in China. I always doubt if China has a "really resort", but Fuchun is the one worth the name, quiet place, staffs are very professional, kindness and helpful. Food is fantastic both for Chinese restaurant and western restaurant. It's also nice to walk around the hotel

Located at the same building as a shopping mall. Food is not a problem but for foreigners, please bring more cash because a lot of the shops in the mall do not accept foreign credit cards. Rude people everywhere, so you have to endure their culture. But restaurant staffs are super polite.

Only thing need to mention is its also because of the different rigion I went. The hotels in China are good. However. Last time i went to Charlotte of NC, the car rental company cheated me 500 dollaors of insurance although I told him I had a car insurance already.

This hotel is a bit out of the way but just what we wanted -- nice and quiet in midst of noisy China. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. The staff was wonderful -- beyond helpful. I highly recommend it and I will definitely stay here next time I'm in Hangzhou.

Real reviews for hotels
Westlake is worth visiting in all 4 seasons. The scenery in different seasons brings you different feeling.
Single day visit not worth. 3 days 2 night ideal 1. Xixi Park+grand canal 2. Try trails to bei gao (North pea)k near Lingin temple (cable car available does who hate workout), Nine creeks 3.
one of the famous attractions is xihu westlake. you must have a visit on this lake if you travel around Hangzhou.
This was my 3rd trip to visit west lake in Hangzhou. I experienced very differently whenever i visit the west lake each trip owing to different timing of visits.
Be ready to walk a lot. Do visit the Tea plantations and Lingyan temple. Also spend leisure time at both causeways.
Good tourist locations but is distanced apart, plan ahead your transportation and set aside ample time for the sightseeing.
Botancal Gardens are great, views from the Pagoda fantastic, Westlake is at its best early in the morning.
Suitable for traveler who love nature with green. The public transport is easy for tourist so really no need to worry about reaching one place to another.
I rated the friendliness of the citizens with 2. While I encountered a few people who were very friendly and certainly deserved to be rated with 5 points, to my big surprise I encountered several people whose can only be rated with 1 for friendlyness, I would rather call them hostile.
There's a reason it's considered the Venice of the east, and that's because hangzhou is a very beautiful city.
Comfortable, relaxing, leisure, natural ..shopping & varieties of local food. Pricing needs control to reasonable & affordable level for most visitors.
Surprisingly clean and peaceful town with great nature and plenty of sightseeings. Local cuisine is also worth trying out and there are some very nice and authentic shops down town worth visiting.
Downtown area around the West Lake is very beautiful and well worth visiting, but only for 1 or 2 nights.
