Furano hotels & places to stay

New Furano Prince is a ski resort so it is situated at the base of a mountain with ski lifts for accessibility. Do expect a longer drive to reach this hotel coming from Asahikawa via Biei. Nevertheless, this hotel is in close proximity to farmlands so Furano melons, cheese, ice-creams, winery and boutique restaurants are nearby. Room size is a tad compact for 3 full-grown adults but the huge hotel grounds, openness and tranquility makes for a relaxed stay. Hotel houses its own bakery, breakfast served at main hall is of both Western and Japanese. There is a bar and both Italian and traditional Japanese restaurants on the top floor with sweeping views! Ningle terrace (shop in the woods) is a must visit, next to the big open-carpark of the hotel. Parking is complimentary.

i think this is the most stylish hotel in furano, great location with free parking lots just right beside the hotel. breakfast to choose in western and japanese style, we tried both and both were very good in quality and quantity, love it wireless internet was perfect received in the rooms without charges, which was very important for us. they have a small public bathroom for free to use, and next to it, they have a hot stone bath, which normally charges at yen, but they let us do it for free on the first night, feel so good to have the hot stone bath, very relaxing! would definitely stay in this hotel again!!!

"3 star price with a 5 star service and facility" As you see my profile history i dont usually wrote much about hotel review, but I feel i need to do at least this much to share with you about Hotel Naturwald. I visited Furano on 23rd March - 31st March. There are 2 ski zone in Furano which is "Kitanomine zone" and "Furano zone" which were about 5mins drive between one another . My friend reccomended this as this is just right in front of Kitanomine ski chairlift, and to my dissapointment when i reach i found out that Kitanomine zone is closed for the season, i have no idea why because the weather is still amazing during my whole trip and its snowing on daily basis . Well anyway upon checking in "Kita-san" the manager there greeted me and told me that there is a FREE shuttle bus provided from the hotel to Furano Zone up to 5 different timing daily , start as early as 8.30am ( chairlift and gondola starts at 9am and ends at 4pm during my visit ) and there you go, my problem is all solved, what a delightful news it was to me and thats just a start of all my memorable experience there . Well anyway to make it easy for you readers, i'll break it down in different category . DIRECTION "If you're arriving from New Chitose International Terminal, proceed to 2F (second floor) on the left hand side there's a whole counter of different bus company that will bring you to all places you want to go, to niseko, sapporo town, rusutus,kiroro etc . Find "Hokkaido Resort Liner" counter there and book your preffered time slot, i took the 5.50pm timing that time as my flight reached about 3.30pm, please always give yourself 60min at least due to unexpected long wait on luggage claim and immigration clearance. I stayed in this hotel because I wanted to explore Furano/ Biei area a little bit. It is near to the Blue Pond and Shirahige Waterfall (just outside the hotel, you can even heard the rapids). The onsen is nice, pretty similar to other onsen in Hokkaido. The only dislike is the value for money. Given the location and lack of competition (unlike in Sapporo city), there is not a lot of choices to begin with. The hotel offers daytime onsen for outsides; you would just need to pay 1000-1500 yen to access the onsen. So if you can find a cheaper place to stay, you can do so and pay per use for the onsen.

All staff are friendly and went the extra miles in providing us an extraordinary stay. Felt really at home with their warmth and kind treatment always. Room was big and clean with nice view. Japanese breakfast was delicious, set up was ready even before our arrival every morning. A great THANK YOU for everyone in Hops Hotel. Will sure to stay there again when we return to Furano.

Booking at Furano was very difficult especially in the peak season. We finally found this apartment but the price was a bit high. On the check in day, we arrived early at around 10am with five heavy luggage. The owner, Mr Hiro, let us to put them at the front desk and came back to check in at 4pm. When we came back at 8pm, surprisingly he showed us a house next to the apartment that we would stay for the next two nights. It was a big house with all the facilities are new and kept very clean and tidy. Mr Hiro also instructed how to use all the facilities with patience. Apart from that, we needed to call a taxi to visit the surroundings and carried the heavy luggage to the JR station on the check out day. In view of the price of taxi was relative high, Mr Hiro was so kind that to drive us to one of the nearby scenery and transported our luggage to meet at the JR station before we left Furano in the afternoon. Thank you to Mr Hiro and we will come back next time. BTW, to other travellers, please help to keep the apartment clean and tidy and use the facilities with tender loving care, don't slide the heavy luggage on the wooden floor as instructed. I feel Mr Hiro like his apartment and the house very much.

I like that it's not too crowded and there're activities nearby. Natural hot spring pool is open overnight so it is more convenient for hotel guest. Breakfast is excellent! Staff are really nice. There's one English fluent staff who is very professional and thoughtful. He suggested that we could stop by Blue Pond on our way to the hotel while he would take care of our languages. Although it is just 40-minute walk from Blue Pond to the hotel, we walked uphill. Walking one way to the hotel is more than enough for exercise. Nevertheless, they do not reply emails. They mostly answer calls. Luckily, staff from the information center nearby train station helped me arrange for the shuttle service. They can improve in shuttle arrangements. I lives in United States and found this hotel online. My flight schedule may be different from others. My flight was around 1pm so I needed to leave the hotel before their first shuttle and even before the first bus. I took taxi to train station.

Great resort, service, facilities and food are fantastic. It is catered to golfers with the resort on a golf course and golf facilities. I guess we must have gone there during offseason in May as it felt that we had the resort all to ourselves with no other guests in sight. Breakfast was only us as the only table with no one else, or maybe everyone is already out in the golf course. Fixed full course breakfast menu that changes every day, so you had no option. But it was fresh and top grade. They alternate between Japanese and Western breakfast daily, so we tasted a good variety. As non-Japanese, some of the traditional Japanese breakfast was really interesting although we are not used some of the food.

Location very good near to Shikisa -no-oka farm, Blue pond , Tomita & Flower Land Farm at Furano . The Hostel person are very friendly , nice & helpful . Dinner & Breakfast are nice & superfantastic . Felling like a home . Environment is good & Clean . Just the room are a bit small & no wash room & no bath room attached . Over all is consider Very Good , 90% . Good to have an experience

This hotel is like a serviced apartment since we booked 2-bedroom and it was like the whole house for us. 2 bedrooms and a spacious living room with kitchen, fridge, microwave, kitchen amenities. It's good for a long stay if you are coming for ski for many days. The hotel location is a bit tricky as we didn't put in their map code but we put in its telephone number and we were lost. The best way is to put in their map code in your GPS if you drive. However, the hotel is not far from city center, just 10-15 minutes away. The female staff was very friendly and she brought us many toys for our baby to play with. The room is clean and comfy. I will definitely stay at this hotel next time we come to Furano.

The house is really pretty! I like it! And the owner helped me a lot. When I want to buy melon made in Hokkaido, he told me where have supermarket which near the house the most. When I can’t found melon at that supermarket, he drove me to go for all supermarket in Furano even final can’t buy melon. But his action make me feel so warm because he hasn’t responsibility to do it. On the other hands, he also is a good guider. He really know about the check point of Furano if you pay some, he can drive you to play around.

We stopped in town for the night for the Snow village (which was awesome) and stayed at the Pension Ing. We emailed the owner in English about when to pick us up from the trains station with little difficulty. He even drove us over to the snow village and picked us up, which was very nice of him. The rooms are decent size for Japan, have everything you need and nothing more. There are no bathrooms in the room. You have to go down the hall to a communal bath room. It is clean and large enough for everyone staying there. The showers are in the form of a tradition Onsen- think hot tub with communal showers. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and all in all it was a wonderful stay with very accommodating owners.

One of the best overnight stays we had in Japan! The 2 person cabin with loft was cosy and cute. The stairs up to the loft were quite steep so had to be careful coming down. The beds were super comfy (mattress with overlay) so no complaints about sleeping on the floor. Heater and air con was available. Breakfast was superb - simple yet tasty - and I can’t rave enough about the local milk!! Creamy and slightly sweet. If you want to stay near Furano to see the expansive lavender and flower fields and to try the lavender and melon flavoured soft serve, it must be at Log Cottage Himawara! Don’t miss out! I will come back when I return to Hokkaido! AAAAA+++++

positive: nice pension, very nice room, nice staff, nice cafe, nice bathroom with bathub, and nice breakfast negative: location very hard to access if you not using car. we bring big luggage and walking to this place that reach in slope hill street condition. on next day we order taxi to go to station. actually i book this place because thay have donkey, dogs and cats, but when we come, we see only donkey.. maybe others still in vacation :) when i come again to furano maybe i will book this pension again, but i will rent a car on that time

the best moment for us when we were on eastern hokkaido trip. The owners are the Japanese couple who run their own busines So they gave us the best their can do to service. such as free bicycle rental pick up service from station (maybe the reason is it was low season in Furano at that time) anyway we really appreciated their kindness they talked with us a lot about his job about furano area, Hokkaido and Japan Such a memorable moment and I would like to recommend everyone to rest at this pension.

We got the 2 bedroom apartment and it was very nice. It felt more like a hotel than an apartment! Complete utilities (stove, microwave, washing machine, fireplace) and even a PS4 and Netflix! Space was very big and very homey. We didn’t go to ski but it would be a nice skiing lodge. The managers can speak very fluent English (they’re not from japan) but they can also speak Japanese fluently (nice when we needed help like for the taxi). The manager who was in charge of us, Gareth, was very helpful & friendly and even drove us around a few times so we didn’t need to always take a taxi. It’s about a 5-10 min drive to Furano station and to Ningle Terrace. Would definitely stay here again!

This was by far the best accommodation throughout my trip. Location was good, around 15 mins drive to Farm Tomita. Accessible using Google Maps which brought us to the exact location. Roads in Furano was very dark so do be careful and arrive before dark if possible. 7 eleven was 5 mins drive away. Host was extremely friendly and helpful with considerably good english. There were not many shops around and they only open at 10am. Fortunately we included breakfast with freshly picked home grown vegetables. It was amazing and most enjoyable. Highly recommended stay.

Its around 8 mins taken you to Unkai Terrace if you drive. If you don't plan to having your dinner or breakfast in Hoshino Resorts Risonare Tomamu or Hoshino Resorts Tomamu The Tower (expensive), my suggestion, better take their dinner and breakfast too. Because it is hardly find a restaurant around there. Better check for their dinner and breakfast time to avoid miss the meals. The time when I am staying with my family and friend, they provide BBQ for our dinner (chickens, lambs, vegetables, rice, soup) and breakfast is a traditional Japan meal.

We stayed here for one night as we were driving through Furano to see the flower fields, on our way to a bunch of hikes in the central part of the island. We did not have huge expectations, which was probably good. The thing is, the pension itself is quite lovely and clean, the main room has nice high ceilings and huge windows, which I would imagine looks gorgeous in the winter time (we went in August). The rooms were spotless, if not bare (free wifi, but no tv or anything else but your bed and an a/c unit). While I understand it was high season, $140 for 2 people in a pension with no meals seemed, in retrospect, a little too pricey (150 Yen). Later in our trip, we stayed at a similar pension that had 2 onsens, plus breakfast and dinner for 80 yen a person per night. I do understand the difference in location and seasonality, but all in all, it just seemed a bit too pricey for what you were getting.

It was an amazing experience during my stay in Hokkaido. The owner was from Osaka but decided to move to Hokkaido for sake of the peaceful countryside. You can order dinner and breakfast from the hotel whose value for money is nice. After dinner we had a fun beer party with other guests from all over the world, most of whom were skiers. The next day I was heading for Biei and Asahikawa, and a couple who stayed in the hotel with me offered to take me for a ride, and we went through all the great view spots in Furano and Biei! The only inconvenience is that the hotel is located in deep countryside, far from the nearest station -- Nakafurano, which itself is already a very small unmanned station with few stores and eating places. In holidays there are no buses. If you have a car, or are scheduled to arrive at dawn for the hotel owner to pickup, then there's no problem. Anyway I give my best recommendation for this place.
