Took my boyfriend here for a mini vacation (we live in Wakayama) and we had an amazing time! The rooms are so affordable but all have a stunning view of the lake and mountains. The room was clean and large. The staff at the front desk spoke English well and helped me check in even though my boyfriend spoke Japanese. Parking is included with room price. Round 1 is directly next to the hotel as well as a little park down below. I would stay here again and again!

We had a wonderful stay at biwako hotel for two days”
Lake Piwa was on part of our itinerary while we planed our Japan trip, after compared a few options we decided to book biwako hotel as it has good location, great view facing lake and comforting onsen, tho we prefer higher floor for better view, but it is not a huge matter. We met a extremely helpful lady at front desk, I only got to see her name tag with "麻子". She offers us a great deal after realizing we were there to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary on 29th, Feb. (By the way, she speaks perfect English) If you have planned to visit Lake Piwa, don't miss out the chance to check this hotel.

Awesome place”
Think this is the nicest and most spacious hotel I have stayed while travelling in Osaka and Kyoto. And an awesome view of Lake Biwa. The only negative part is there is not much food choice around the hotel. But they have a very regular shuttle service to send you to the nearest biwako station where you can have more food and restaurant.

Good for travel when you driving. Hotel offer free car parking. First time to meet so many unknown insect around hotel and room inside @Japan, horrible😵💫Hot spa is nice. Good experience travel there.

Feels like 5* - quality bed, pillows, cushions, linens, air machine, toilet paper better than everywhere else I've been to in Kansai. Housekeeping not only tops up your items but make sure the basics are topped up + what you've used, also mindful which angle u have left them. Booked here to see Biwako Valley, ski, sightseeing n depended on Otsu Tourist Info Centre for sight seeing recommendations. Sadly they (speak Chinese which I speak too) r not experienced n only suggested 2 typical routes that I didn't enjoy when it was cloudy day n because Otsu City has nothing much but a hike linking to East of Kyoto. Managed to research myself n found an attraction - grass house + hiking to see Lake Biwa at Omihachiman (few JR stops away from JR Otsu). Izakaya straight down the road (don't think is in the map provided by hotel but 2 min walk towards JR Otsu), decent n cheap (many dishes at 380yen). No coin laundry. Huge game centre w/ archery etc right next to hotel w free shuttle from JR Otsu

Great location”
Biwako Hotel sits right on Lake Biwa and boasts that every room has a view of the lake. The large windows give you an unobstructed view of the lake from sunrise to sunset.. My double room came complete with a sofa and chair for relaxing and reading or just watching the lake. Breakfast was included in my rate and I had the choice of a Western style buffet, which included many Japanese items as well, including fresh tofu, or I could have had a more traditional Japanese breakfast in another restaurant. The hotel has several restaurants that offer a variety of cuisines from Italian to French to traditional Japanese. They also offer room service. There is a small gift shop to pick up some local food items as well as more traditional souvenirs. Parking was free. They also offered free shuttle service to and from the Otsu train station, making travel to nearby Kyoto easy and efficient. Staff was wonderful and helpful in every way. There is so much to do around Lake Biwa - lake cruises, hiking, biking, visiting temples and shrines, museums - the area has a lot to offer. After touring for the day, come back to the hotel and relax in the natural hot spring onsen. I enjoyed my stay so much that I have already booked a second stay. I highly recommend Biwako Hotel.

Have a Lakeside vacation”
The resort is located nearby Biwako which allow us to have a full view of lake and the city when you are staying the high floor room. Don't worry, all the rooms are face to the lake. The room is very big (personally I think it is enough for 4 people stay although it stated it is limited up to 3 people), clean and equipped with all necessary facilities, also the design of room and the floor is just like stay in a boat and it is interesting. Regarding the facilities of the resort, there is a large Onsen and it is also face to the lake, you may have a enjoy with it at night after your day schedule is finished. There are different type of restaurants inside the resort including Japanese and Western, you may choose your favorite if you don't want to eat outside. The resort provides a shuttle bus service travel between Otsu JR station and resort, it take less than 5 minutes or you could choose to walk to nearby Keihan Electric Railway station. It is convenient~!

Convenient location with frequent shuttle bus between hotel and JR station. Many restaurants selection and the food in the Japanese restaurant is delicious. Room has a very nice view to the Biwako Lake. Very near to the Otsu pier and can walk there is 5 minutes to join the Michigan cruise tour.

A very comfortable hotel in a convenient location”
We stayed in the hotel in November for a short holiday (4 nights). Our choice was based on thefqct that the hotel has a hot bath and a sauna - and they were great, very nice to get relaxed after the whole day of walks through Kyoto and surroundings. The room was surprisingly large, spacious and with a very nice view on the lake Biwa, where they had light show every evening. The breakfast included in our stay was good with a choice of european and japanese dishes. For the dinner we ent to the hotel Japanese restaurant that offered all kind of wonderful variety of Japanese cuisine - loved it!!! The staff in the hotel was very helpful, spoke enough English to answer our questions. Hotel shuttle bus goes to Otsu station every 15 mins, so we didn’t have any issue to get to Kyoto. Overall - great place to stay, ould definitely rcommend it!

Great Kyoto leisure experience ”
Biwako hotel made our stay in Kyoto really enjoyable. We liked the location at the lake while still within good proximity to Kyoto main station, free shuttle bus is available every 15 min to the nearest train station. Nice view from each room to the beautiful Biwako lake, spacious onsen to rest after busy day of Kyoto sightseeing. Breakfast offers great selection of traditional and western meals. Cons. The only different thing we would like to experience is the closing hour for dinner at hotel restaurants or having room meal service as there is not so much to find around the hotel. If you are not back at the hotel before 8pm and did not manage to eat outside your only chance is next corner shop or small snack place.
