Good value for money”
Good value for money, spacious and well-equipped facilities, convenient location near the station
Fantastic Location if you want to primarily spend time in Shibuya/Shinjuku”
Room and building was clean, felt fresh and new. Had a washing machine, no dryer but the bathroom comes with drying capabilities which was very helpful. The room contains 1 small queen bed and a sofa that unfolds into another single bed. Do note that if you do unfold to 2 beds this will take up most of your room , leaving little space for your luggage or anything else; not a complaint just stating the fact. Location-wise I could not speak more highly off. Quick 10 min walk to the station , 1 stop gets you to the lovely neighbourhood of Shimokitazawa, and 2-3 stops gets you to Shinjuku and Shibuya. Also the neighbourhood itself is fantastic. It really warms my heart to be in such a quiet neighbourhood that is peaceful and had such a nice vibe, while being very accessible to the rest of the city. I think this place is better suited for a solo traveller. The room is perfect for a single traveller and just barely enough for 2.
I think this is my last time staying here.”
The good: - Location, especially if you like walking and have interest in Shimokitazawa. - The people who run it are nice. - It's basic - but not disappointing for most guests, I think. The meh: - Kitchen lacks a lot of functionality (no scissors, no paper towels, no tools beyond a pot, a pan, a knife and cutlery, no saran wrap or foil or food storage, fridge has to be set to MAX to be cold enough and there's no freezer section). Not an issue for a night or two, but we stayed eight nights this time and it involved running out to get things. - Things are mostly clean, but there are things that are clearly being overlooked. Every stay, I take time to get to those things. I typically get to things like the absolute layers of filth on the door, scrubbing the balcony from months of pollen and pollution build up so it's actually usable, cleaning the aircon and shower filters. - Agoda says "pet friendly," house manual says no pets allowed...which is it? I know that sometimes there is a designated pet friendly room, but none are labelled as such online, and no policies are visible on this end. - The bed (at least in the unit this time) is a spring mattress where a lot of the springs are warped. Very uncomfortable, especially if you are used to a firmer bed like is standard in Japan. I tried it for a few nights and it properly messed my shoulder up. In the end, we had to use the foldable couch-bed thing as a mattress on top of the bed. The bad: - The check in is awful. Policy on here states check in is from 3p-1159p. But you'll often have a string of people checking in at 1am, 3am...and they're so loud. Unlike the other layouts of #01 and #02 in the front of the house which have a bit of a hallway from the door, with #03 units in the rear there is no buffer. The door is part of the wall that the bed is against, located at the foot of the bed. With no buffer and no sound insulation, it's like the people outside are inside of your room, even if you're not on the firs
Good for a short stay”
After the check in process, and receiving the key, The place was very clean and cozy, if a bit snug. It can host 1-2 people. The shower, toilet and washing machine are available as well as an AC unit, kitchenette, mini fridge, and a small, working TV. Given it's size, it really is best just for sleeping and maybe eating. The walls are semi-thin by the bed is very soft and easy to sleep in. It's a short walk from Higahsi-Matsibara station, so it's not bad if you want to travel around a lot by train. If you can get a booking far in advance, it's a good deal if you just need a place to rest for a night or 2. If you want 3 nights or more space, I'd recommend a cheap hotel instead.
you get what you paid”
we stayed for 6 days but was told they dont change towels. there's no room service so a vacuum or atleast a broom is a good addition so we can clean by ourselves. also, the carpet in the living area is nasty. it's full of stains , dust and seems like never been washed. the toilet rug seems like it was not replaced as well, it was soaking wet when we came in. room can be very small for 3 people if you are on the bigger or taller side. location is in a quiet neighborhood. about 3-5 mins walk from the station but train in this area can be full of commuters after 5pm
