Love this hotel!”

The Dalat Palace Heritage Hotel is beautiful. The original building was built in 1922 and it has been restored a number of times. It is a grand old hotel with probably the best view in Dalat. We stayed on the second floor in a spacious room overlooking the lake. It felt as if we were staying in a chateau in France, with tall, thick doors, a foyer, a clawfoot tub, lush curtains, beautiful wood furniture. The room was large and comfortable. My only complaint was the that the air conditioner didn't work very well. Fortunately, the outside temperature was very cool, and during the day we could leave the windows open. But at night, the mosquitos come, so you need to shut the windows and the A/C couldn't keep the room very cool. It would be even worse in the summer time. The fact that the A/C unit is hidden behind a decorative valance makes it even less efficient. Other than that, the hotel is great. Keep in mind that the old building has no elevator!

My love hotel”

i and my family (with our 3 generation-members) had 3 times of stay in da lat palace hotel with my family. we like its classical architecture with system and building method of french in xix century. the palace have graced the landscape for the past 90 years. i and my family were impressed by a very large and beautiful lawn surrounding the building and melodious sounds of classical music when comming in the hotel lobby in the first minures, thought that we were now in an acient 'palace' as it was named! things inside the palace are being set for romantic, but comfortable stays. my family members visited its xq boutique with its fine selection of embroideries and bought some items. we much enjoyed very peaceful and quiet space of a 'dalat miniature' at the cafe de la post, dating from 1928, as the first colonical shops in dalat. my family had very memorable moments with these stays, and hope to come back one day.

Dalat at the end of the Season”

Entering the lobby of the Sofitel Dalat Palace Hotel is akin to stepping back in time. The rich, dark wood paneling, plush furnishings, and immediate scurry and attention to guests harken to the Victorian era in a far flung tropical colony. The artistry and beauty of the white rose flower arrangement that dominated the main hall was breathtaking. It was complemented throughout the main floor by equally stunning arrangements of white and red roses in the adjacent hallways that led to the fabulous restaurant, intimate workout facility, and second floor full-service spa. A two hour full massage treatment was ordered up by one of my traveling companions during our stay that she claimed was the best $75 dollars she had ever spent. If you are looking for a serene and romantic setting in Vietnam K highly recommend the Sofitel Dalat Palace.

Prestigious - live up to its name”

Our hotel stay was thoroughly enjoyable. Once arrived, we were welcomed by name and hot towels and cold apple juice were served. Our room had a wonderful view of the Dalat lake and the hotel's sprawling private park. We especially loved the private park - it really made us feel like we were going back to the palace as we climbed the long flight of stairs through the park back to our room. The 1920s telephone and bathtub were especially charming too. The hotel interior was tastefully done with numerous French themed paintings. Only complaint was that our hotel bathroom seemed to be always flooded after we took a bath and the water would not seep off even hours later. Only when the room was serviced did we return to a dry bathroom. Perhaps the hotel can look into this problem. Also, the hotel french restaurant seemed totally deserted for the two nights we stayed there, deterring us from dining there - we saw reviews citing its exboriant prices. Another point to note is that the hotel has no swimming pool but the sprawling park more than makes up for it. Overall, we will choose Dalat Palace again if we swing by Dalat again, it is certainly a charming, majestic hotel. The fact that it only has 43 rooms made it even more exclusive.

A real palace”

Dalat Palace hotel is one of the former residences of the last Vietnamese emperor Bo Dai. All rooms preserve "old" style, including small details. If you have room with a balcony, you can seat there and enjoy lake view. Hotel has tennis court, golf club, French restaurant. The only drawback was when somebody moved upstairs I could hear every step, as floors are from wood. Highly recommend it as a base to explore Dalat, even for 1-2 nights only (then moving to cheaper place)

Feel like living in a palace”

We stayed here for 2 nights during May 3rd till 5th, the hotel building is an old palace and it was very nice. We tried their french restaurant which was the best in town, especially, its artichoke menu. Their wine also good. The location is also good as it's conveneint to travel to various destinations in the city. And most impressive is the view there from the hotel or the room window, we will see a panoramic view of the lake in front of the hotel with the background of the city and the mountains. Highly recommended if you go to Dalat.

Classic French Colonial Hotel with best view”

Spent 2 nights with family at the Dalat Palace Hotel. Remarkable preservation of a historical French style hotel in the Vietnam highlands. Staff excellent and ervice are all excellent. Rooms make you think you are in Europe with high ceilings, hugely spacious, French doors and windows. Seriously peaceful compared to the usual hustle and bustle of Vietnam. No air conditioning, not really necessary at this time of year. No real shower but amazing old fashioned bath tubs. French art throughout. Only 2 dozen rooms. Very private. Great idea. Not cheap, but if you like this style really quite romantic.

Nice hotel with a new wong, good location”

The grounds are very nicely maintained. Lots of flowers with large grass areas. The grand building in the background looks majestic. The new wing just opened Dec 2017. The rooms are very nice and the decor and style match the ambience of Dalat Palace Heritage. Problem is the hot water supply is not reliable.

Perfect hotel with splendid view ”

we had a wonderful trip in dalat at the palace hotel. the hotel is perfectly maintained, despite its age, every minor details works like new. the staff is very friendly, charming and professional. the hotel has a splendid view over the xuan huong lake. overall, this 5-star hotel is worth every single penny we paid. we'll definitely come back to dalat palace!

Fantastic and romantic place for enjoying in vacation”

I found out this place is so fantastic and romantic for couples enjoying their vacations. The hotel is heritage hotel built in 1922 with long history. There are many leaders and famous people have been here for their visting in Dalat. Equiments and furnitures are history goods, so please handle with care to keep its history. Great location and city view from the onsite restaurant. I will be back again if I have a chance.

One of the best hotel ever”

I chose this hotel because it is the best in Dalat and it is the best. Not only in Dalat, it is one of the best hotel I ever stayed. Dalat Palace is full of European sensation and they are beautiful. You will have a great view of Dalat from the balcony. This hotel is really romantic. You will feel special when stay there.

Amazing, French Style with Historical”

Very comfortable. Central Located. Beautiful view, quiet surroundings with birds,trees,ect. High speed internet access complimentary. Nice French style Vietnam food. Kindly staff and arrange morning call and shuttle bus for us. Guide us where is worth to visit and show those in a map.In all,I would stay at the Dalat Palace Hotel again when I traveled to Dalat.

excellent - perfect place to spend christmas in vn”

This hotel is the most perfect place in Vietnam to spend Christmas, or really any day. Its very difficult for some to be away from home and the crisp chill of Christmas in the West. However, Dalat Palace, set up a Christmas tree in the room! Along with a working fireplace, a fluffy bed, the best egg nog we've ever had and a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day high tea. Whenever we are in Vietnam for Christmas this will be our go to destination. The staff were also wonderful.

Great Rooms - Great Service”

Dalat Palace is the premier hotel in Dalat Vietnam. Great old worl style rooms , friendly , attentive and professional service. Spa is fantastic , food is of reasonable quality if a little overpriced. When we visited the hotel was very quiet. For stays in Dalat I would reccommend Dalat Palace for those with the budget.

Good place to stay in Dalat”

Our room in the central of the Dalat Palace Heritage Hotel that has view to direct the Xuan Huong lake, super nice view (but the breakfast's poor). So we're going to book for next trip (room exclude breakfast).

a glimpse of the past”

we had the most wonderful time in dalat, much due to our stay at this charming old hotel. on arrival we were greeted with hot towels and freshly squeezed juice. the staff were courteous and helpful and the manager also made us welcome and explained a little about the history of the place. the bedroom was smallish but fitting for the period and the furnishings too. beautifully appointed bathroom, lovely view across sweeping lawns to the lake. close to the city square an easy walk. food at the hotel expensive for local prices but quality and again that gorgeous dining room!

Atmosphere and comfort abound”

we chose this hotel for its historical significance, period features and furniture, and central location, and were not disappointed. we loved the decor and ambience throughout the hotel, and found our room not only full of character and charming pieces of furniture, but comfortable and spacious. having shuttered windows and french doors which opened out to our private balcony, overlooking the expansive lawns and the lake, was delightful. staying only one night in dalat, being able to walk into town was a great way to soak up the sights and sounds of the city.

A beautiful romantic honeymoon stay in Da Lat”

We felt special from the moment we arrived at Da Lat to continue our honeymoon trip in Vietnam. We were shown to a lovely room with a huge balcony and beautiful old decor. It was so wonderful to stay in the hotel that has not changed since French colonial times. It felt like stepping back in time in a good way! The hush, the paintings on the walls and the calm relaxing atmosphere were perfect for a romantic few days. We particularly enjoyed the evening meals, which were top class delicious standard! The golf was amazing as well, one of the most beautiful courses my husband had ever played. The bath in the room was huge and luxurious and the in-hotel spa was excellent - I enjoyed a relaxing facial and my husband had a hot stone massage. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and kind and helpful. The only possible improvement would be the breakfast, which was not quite up to the same standard as the evening food. Otherwise we loved staying here and even tried to stay an extra couple of nights but it was so popular it was already booked! We'll definitely be coming back to Dalat and staying here when we do!

Hotel with history and luxury, ”

This hotel has been around for almost a hundred years but its original beauty and glorious past seems to be well maintained and kept up by the current management team! All rooms are furnished with the original furniture and fixtures...up to the shower head! They're all positioned such that each of them has the best view of the Xuan Huong lake below or the surrounding resort town! From the hotel, it's a short 10 or 15 minute leisure walk to Dalat central market or the French Indochina governor mansion. The service has been as good as ever and the staff try their best to make sure the guest has the most comfortable and pleasant stay possible. Staying at this hotel, you would enjoy the history that comes with it as much as the art works and all the mahogany furniture left over from the French colonial past!

Fantastic scenery”

The palace hotel Architecture is quite unique in Vietnam. The design is elegant and exclusive. The staff are great. The hotel surrounding is amazing, especially the scenery towards Dalat. I had some issues with the plumbing. It's quite troubling to have a straight current of same temperature water in the bath. The breakfast is not rich enough comparing to other 4-5 stars hotels in Vietnam.
