Sincere care”

this review goes to both the holiday inn bangkok and intercontinental bangkok as they are adjoining, and one of the same when it comes to ownership, management attitdue, and staff performance. i am a regular visitor of bangkok, 39 times since april 2006 (that's the count of the entry stamps on my current passport, i lost count of the previous trips that go back as far as 1988) and holiday inn bangkok is one of the many bangkok hotels (18 to be exact) that i often stay at. i have left comments 2 weeks ago about how convenient it is to stay at the holiday inn bangkok as it is centrally located with sky train only 1 minute from this ploenchit road hotel and within walking distance are all the major shopping centers. but what i would like to pay compliments to this time is on the genuine,sincere, and caring attitudes all the way from the top down from the owners to the front line staff. i had originally booked and paid for my lodging at the holiday inn (about 2/3 cheaper rate than intercontinental) but when i arrived on the 15th, they upgraded me to the intercon next door. at first i thought may be the holiday inn was overbooked, but later on i found out from the staff that management did it for the regular guest as an appreciation of our regular patronage (it was my 2nd trip of the month). needless to say, i think that reflects on how much they value and care for their guests. and every single one of the staff from the door to the floor, and even the contracted security staff had demonstrated a genuine caring attitude you cannot find anywhere else. my sincere thanks to all them for making my stay a pleasant and enjoyable expereince eventhough they are suffering through a rough and miserable time themselves during this flood. my special thanks would go to ms. laila and ms. kook at the front desk of intercon as they had really been most helpful.

Holiday Inn Ploenchit in Bangkok, My 3 Nights Stay”

Staying in Holiday Inn Ploenchit (Bangkok) was a joy to me. Deciding for this hotel was easy since the rates are budget-friendly (around 60 USD per night) and it is located in the heart of the shopping districts in Bangkok. The option of getting to and fro the hotel by Skytrain (one block away), or by Taxi was not a problem. And it is walking distance to a lot of high-end hotels. If your in the mood for a cheap find, MBK was only three blocks away. But I should warn you, the three blocks can be very far especially after a long day's walk. Another good thing about this hotel is the very accomodating and fast service the service maids do. I always ask for complimentary water, extra soap, and ice.. and these would be delivered to my room promptly. They would make-up the room if specified. This is a plus for me, since I have been to other hotels that would still make-up rooms even if you have specified not to. The room is very clean and spacious. There is a big chair and a spacious table to write or lay down the shopping bags. The aircon is cool, the toilet is likewise spacious. The hot and cold shower is efficient, needless there is a rainshower. I just have preferred an availability of a bidet. I dont remember if I was asked if I'd like a smoking floor but I am happy that the floor did not smell of smoke. Not only that, but the floor was good smelling and clean. The elevator barely fits 6 people, hence no more crew to accompany you to the hotel floor, but it was ok. If your looking for a good breakfast or dinner food, no need to go out of the hotel. The G Cafe houses a lot of breakfast and dinner food and its cheap. (less than 20USD dollars). If your in the budget side, there is a 24/7 Mc Donalds across the street. Here are the bad points. The first disadvantage is that there are two Holiday Inns in Bangkok. Even if I was clear with the taxi driver that I will go to Holiday Inn Ploenchit, he was not able to bring me to the hotel.

Christmas in Bangkok”

The Holiday Inn Bangkok is an ideal location for those on a city break. 2 minutes to all transport facilities and 1 minute to the skywalk which takes you above the hustle and bustle of the road below. Walking distance to all the major shopping malls not least to mention the Siam Paragon with the most amazing basement underwater aquarium where you can get close up with sharks, stingrays and many other underwater creatures. Worth paying for the full package to see behind the scenes and the 4D cinema experience. Walking distance to day and night markets and when you have had enough shopping the hotel has a relaxing pool to unwind from the hectic life outside and have a snack or drink before getting ready for the nightlife. Book a taxi with the concierge / bell boys and you will be sure of getting to your destination at the right price. Taxi transfer to and from Bangkok International airport should cost you no more than 500 baht but 400 if you are lucky. What the Holiday Inn may lack in some resources these are available at the adjoining Intercontinental which share some facilities.

Best deal in Bangkok”

I lived in Bangkok for a year and have been visiting the city almost every year for the last 15 years. I stayed here when it was still the President Hotel, and recently as the renamed and newly managed Holiday Inn Bangkok (not to be confused with Holiday Inn Express). It still has the best location and best service, has spacious and comfortable rooms, and offers one of the best buffet breakfasts in Ratchaprasong (the croissants are to die for). The only drawback is that you need to pay for in-room wi-fi service at a ridiculous THB600/24 hours. In-room wi-fi should be free (it is provided for free at other hotels, many of which charge less per room per night than Holiday Inn). Despite that, I will stay here again and again and again.

Exceptional”

Used to stay at Centara Central World whenever I visited Bangkok but the room rate for my staying period was quite high this time. Thus searching for other choices and happened to find the room rate of Holiday Inn was unexpectedly reasonable hence have a try. The location is considered as convenient as Centara Central World to reach the tourist spots and shopping malls nearby. Besides, the hotel environment and room are very new and clean. Furthermore, the staff there are all very friendly and helpful, especially the bell boys. We've booked for vehicle transfer from Klook but it has been late, the bell boy actively provided assistance to help calling Klook to check for our booking. However, our driver was trapped by traffic and we decided to cancel the book, the bell boy helped to liaise with Klook to make sure I can get a refund. This is very impressive! Will definitely stay at Holiday Inn again for my next visit to Bangkok!

After a long flight”

After a long flight from Heathrow, via Mumbai we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Holiday Inn, Bangkok. We were so pleased we chose this Holiday Inn and not the other one in Silom. We were greated in the traditional Thai way and check in was so easy and fast. Our baggage arrived at the room within minutes of us checking in. The room was clean, spacious and had all the ammenities needed for a 3 night stay. A quick orientation tour, with some assistance from the concierge meant we were ready for a nap before a night out. The room was cleaned daily and each morning there was a English paper hanging on the door. Seeing as we were in the centre of a bustling city, the room was very quiet and the bed more than comfortable. We are looking forward to coming back for 2 days after our holiday on Koh Samui. We chose the right time of year as the decorations and lights were truly amazing. Best surprise was a beer festival just down the road with live bands playing.

Top Notch Location!”

Holiday Inn Bangkok topped my list for location!! Sitting 1 stop away from Siam Square and walking distance to Central World, Central Embassy, Pratunam and Platinum Mall, its location is the heaven for the fashion shopaholics (like my wife). It definitely doesn't hurt the non-shoppers either having Chit Lom BTW at its doorstep :) Topped with excellent service staff, very comfortable and clean rooms, this is going to be 1 of our favourites in Bangkok :)

Holiday Inn Bangkok is situated right by the Chitlom BTS station, which offers convenience to travel around in the city. As it is right in the heart of the shopping areas, you can just walk to Siam Paragon using the footbridge. In the evening, there are so many street stalls outside the hotel. The room is big and clean, staff are polite and friendly. the only disadvantage they don't provide with free Wi-fi and it's a bit pricey to pay for the internet connection.

Well-located and comfortable hotel”

This is our second time staying at Holiday Inn Bangkok and we had just as good an experience as our first time 5 years ago. Our room and bathroom was well-kept and clean. The staff were attentive, polite and helpful. The buffet breakfast is extensive and delicious. The gym is well-equipped. The pool is clean and peaceful. The hotel is conveniently located 2 minutes from Chidlom BTS and also walking distance to Siam Square, Central World and Platinum.

centrally located almost luxury”

the hotel is very well located, close to sky train, and the main shopping heavens of Bangkok. One can virtually walk to Siam Paragon. The hotel has very helpful and service minded staff; the rooms were spacious, and the breakfast was really luxurious, with a wide selection of food. There are several holiday inns in Bangkok, but this is the best I have stayed in of that group so far, and I would not hesitate to recommend this particular hotel.

Great Place to Stay in Bangkok”

This is the perfect, reasonably-priced place to stay for those wanting a shopping, restaurant and "bustling Bangkok" experience. This is not the place to be if you want to be close to the Chao Praya or the Grand Palace and temples. The Holiday Inn is a quick walk to the major shopping areas, Central World and Siam Paragon and only a couple of Skytrain stops away from Nana, if you're looking for more of the "steamy" side of Bangkok. Will stay here again.

Warm, welcoming, a home away from home"”

I love this hotel and have made it my number one place to stay when I visit Bangkok. I have been coming to Bangkok for the past 30 years, almost 5 times a year, and I have been staying at the Holiday Inn for the past 5 years- every visit since I discovered it. The hotel rooms are clean, housekeeping is always quick to respond to any request, the concierge is very helpful and the receptionists and bellhops are also. Room service and meals are pleasant, with a wide assortment to choose from. I love Holiday Inn.

Excellent for me”

Hotel is located next to Chit Lom BTS train station. It has a lift from the station down to the street and most convenient when you carry a large luggage. Check-in and Check-out were fast and efficient. I felt very welcomed by the friendly staff and they were very helpful in providing directions. I had my breakfast at the hotel's Ginger Cafe for 3 days. They served a wide selection of food and fruit juices. They have a daily special such as Chinese Chicken Rice. The next day was Indian Curry Chicken with chapati bread. The prawn porridge was delicious! The other cook-upon order hot food sections: Thai rice noodles with pork, chicken and fish balls in chicken soup and fried eggs, poached eggs, sunnyside up, scrambled eggs! Simply wonderful. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely book Holiday Inn Bangkok again.

Good shopping place, good food and good massage.”

We went to Bangkok once a year over the past 10 years. Each year we stay at Holiday Inn Ploenchit as we find the hotel very convenient. It locates across the street of 4-face buddha. Central World, Big C, Zen, Central Department Store, Siam Paragon are just in walking distance from the hotel. Even Terminal 21 is just 3 stations by sky train. Hotel room is spacious and is big enough to accommodate for 3 adults (twin bed room plus an extra bed). Wifi was available in our room and all public areas within the hotel. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning in the coffee shop. It provided a lot of varieties. Staff was friendly and helpful. We won't stay other hotel in Bangkok except Holiday Inn Ploenchit.

The Bangkok Swing”

A Very respectable & Excellent hotel with 5 star standards. we loved the welcome room make up with a variety of local fruit platter after a long haul journey. located where the really good malls were of safe walking distance. the sky train is outside the hotel which made it accessible to go to any part of bangkok without needing a taxi. shopping arena is of good standards and wife is spoilt for choice. hotel room was of very good condition, comfortable and clean. very good security and most suitable for family trips. Since our stay at the Holiday inn we have made many recommendations to our friends and business colleagues on its excellent location and mint condition and we were very pleased with our stay. The hotel staff were very courteous about the late check-out hours without extra charge.

Holiday Inn Bangkok:not your usual Holiday Inn”

The Holiday Inn Bangkok is a hidden gem, sharing business facilities with the Intercontinental via a bridge that connects both hotels. The Holiday Inn Bangkok is no more than 35 meters from the Skytrain and elevated walkway. Close by is the Central World 700 store shopping mall. And best yet the trip to the airport is no more than $30. I highly recommend the hotel to anyone travelling to Bangkok.

Central Location”

Booked this for our associate visiting Bangkok. Central location right in the heart of downtown Bangkok but at the same time quite easy to get in and out via the expressway. Even during the recent protest in Bangkok, there were not much disruption in the hotel. Room is a bit small but clean and adequate. This is certainly one of the better managed Holiday Inns. Good for shopping as well since a few major malls are only within 10 minutes' walking distance. BTS Chidlom is only 5 minutes' walk away. We use this hotel quite often for visiting guests.

I stayed in Holiday inn several times during my visit to Bangkok. Both of the visits were awesome because of its location. My family and I had a pretty great deal upon arriving request for adjoining room which the staff helped me to get it. I was very thankful by the friendliness of the staffs were and the concierge were greatly a big help for me to find transportation back to the airport. Thank you so much for the lovely stay and we hope during our visit again , we will definitely book holiday inn for our hotel.

the place was adjacent to the chit lom bts, so you can go anywhere easy. at walking distance there's a plenty of street food you can have. very near to siam area which is anything you can get from bangkok will be there and also near to sukhumvit area for those who likes a bangkok night life.. remarkable place to stay with the value for money. always enjoying staying in holiday inn group anywhere in the world
