City Suites - definately recommanding stay there”

I walked in into the hotel lobby sometime past 11pm. I entered my flight itinerary and estimated time of arrival on my reservation. My keys were waiting for me as I arrived. I was on my way up into my free upgraded room in less than 2 min. First impression of the hotel was how modern and incredibly clean the hotel and room was. Very up to the western standards. The bathroom was very clean and modern looking. Complimentary breakfast buffet was welcomed and wonderful. I couldn't stay to enjoy the Taiwanese style breakfast so I requested a to-go box and packed in as much steamed buns as I could. Taxi ride to the THSR Taoyuan station was around 6-8 min. away. Overall, I had a great experience staying at the City Suites Gateway Hotel.

Great hotel!”

City suites is only 10mins taxi drive from Taoyuan International Airport which is the reason why i chose this hotel because we arrived at 1am. The check in was fast, no hassle at all. We really loved the breakfast, there are a lot of choices, though most of the food are Chinese, they are all good. This hotel is a bit far from 24-hour stores and fast foods, but, people are coming here for their buffet which is very cheap (NT$275)and food choices are really great. From this hotel, we took a cab going to Taoyuan High Speed Railway, which took us 15mins only. From Taoyuan HSR, at NT$155/adult, you can reach Taipei Main Station for only 25mins. After 3 days in Taipei, we went back here for dinner and stayed for few hours, with free use of computer, even though we're not checked in, while waiting for our flight at midnight. The receptionist called for a cab for us, and they were very nice to us.

Nice hotel with good price and efficient service”

It was a very good experience staying at City Suites Gateway Hotel. My husband and I spent the last night there during our very tiring trip in Taiwan (spent different nights at different hotels) for we need to get up early the next morning for another 20-hour flight, and at the moment we arrived the staff know exactly what we need for checking in and responded very quickly(it's not always the case for most of the hotels, usually they keep you wait for their long administrative work). The next morning when we checked out it's the same outstanding efficient procedure, taking care of our ride to the hotel, everything just happened very quickly, they are very professional about doing these arrangements, amazing.

Decent Airport Option”

If you are landing in Taoyuan late and have no transit options, booking a hotel in advance nearby is a good option for travelers. Though not the most immediately accessible, a short cab right will take you to City Suites, just beware if you're a tourist as cab drivers may intentionally divert course to increase fare. City Suites is comfortable, accommodating, and slightly cheaper than the most nearby hotels to the airport. I do recommend, though if on a budget and really only using the hotel for the function of sleep, taking taxi further out will offer more options. City Suites also has a walking path to the Airport MRT line which is convenient.

Close to Taoyuan airport.”

The best feature for this hotel is its proximity to Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). The rooms seem decent and the price is reasonable. Even though I could see the landing planes, the noise did not make it into the room. The staff was helpful and a taxi was readily available when it was time to leave. Coming from Taipei I took bus 1961, from Taipei Bus Terminal A, close to Taipei Main station. Its Dayuan (大園) stop is only a few hundred meters from the hotel.

Close to airport & easy to get to”

City Suites is only a short trip on the metro from the airport to Dayuan station. Walk out of the station, turning left, continue in the same direction where you see a car park & City Suites hotel on your right. Continue straight ahead through & toward the end of the car park and at the end there is a small wall. On the right is a pathway leading over a small bridge into the Hotel side entrance. This saves going around via the street where there is NO PATHWAY. Using the street with no walking path is dangerous. Go through the car park. 4min walk only. 7 Eleven is 3mins along the roadside from the hotel as well. The hotel is expensive but convenient if you want to catch an early flight. They provide a sandwich with fruit and drink as takeaway breakfast option or buffet starts at 6am.

Comfortable place to stay for early/late flights. ”

My wife and I live in Kaohsiung and generally fly in and out of Taiwan through the Taoyuan Airport. Because the HSR doesn't run early in the morning or late at night, the City Suites ends up being our go-to hotel to stay the night if we fly out early or fly in late. This most recent stay was probably our fifth or sixth, and it's always been the same. Staff is helpful and has a good level of English fluency (better than my Chinese...) so nothing is left to chance or misunderstanding. The beds are big and comfortable and the showers have rain heads attached, which is always welcome after a 14-20 hour flight. It's a ten minute drive to the airport or the HSR, and the hotel will set up the taxi for you. They understand that their hotel exists to serve travellers, and they make the most of it.

Great Overnight Stay Before Airport Travel”

My two sisters and I stayed at City Suites Gateway Hotel for one evening on our way to the Taipei airport in the morning. It was easy for a taxi driver to find (from the HSR), and it was incredibly close to the airport. The hotel workers scheduled a taxi for us for the morning, breakfast was good (nice mix of American food and Taiwanese cuisine), and checkout was a breeze. I would definitely recommend this affordable hotel for airport travelers.

Economical hotel near the airport”

The deluxe twin room was very large with large twin beds. The size of each twin bed is the size of a double bed. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel is very close to the airport. It is located near the Dayuan Station, just 5 min walk from the station to the back door of the hotel. The hotel has buffet dinner which is TWD300 per person. There is a variety of food. Although it is not delicious but not bad. It is a good choice as there is no other restaurants near the hotel. You can find a convenient store 7-11 with 5min walk.

Very close to Taoyuan International Airport”

We stayed here for just one night before leaving Taiwan. The hotel is only a few minutes by taxi from the Taoyuan International Airport. There are different room sizes available. Our room, a "superior double" was small, but with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was functional and good. The dinner buffet was inexpensive and surprisingly good with fresh fish and other seafood, and many other selections. The breakfast was less impressive - go early if you want hot food and a choice. We went late and there was little left. The exterior of the hotel is under major renovation but inside is business as usual, and we experienced no inconvenience or noise during the evening or night. The hotel is located in an area that is not attractive, but of course its big advantage is its proximity to the airport. Although close, we heard no aircraft noise. Overall, a good value hotel for a night or two, for travellers coming to, or leaving, the nearby international airport. But certainly not a place to base yourself for a sightseeing visit in Taipei. There are many better options for that in or close to the city centre. Taoyuan is about 45 minutes by car from the Taipei city centre.

More convenient than ever”

The CitySuites is now better than ever - for the budget traveler who doesn't want to pay the premium price of the on airport hotel (which is your only option) you can now take the newly opened MRT line to the DaYuan MRT Station and walk 5 minutes to get to this hotel. It's just a quick two stops from the airport and another couple of stops to the HSR station. GREAT!!!

Very close to the airport!”

The proximity to the airport is the main reason why we picked this hotel. It’s within walking distance from Dayuan station (A15) - 700m to be exact. The staffs are friendly and the room is basic but clean. Bed is comfortable and we can’t really hear any noise from outside. The hotel made arrangement for the taxi and it’s 200 TWD. Breakfast is included and it’s simple. Overall, if you are looking for an overnight stay and not wanting to rush early in the morning to the airport, this is a great hotel!

Good hotel, near airport. ”

This hotel is located in Taoyuan district. You can take taxi just only 8 minutes. I arrived Taoyuan Airport on 3:30 am so I choose this hotel for a family room for 3 people with 1 child. There are breakfast in the morning and good test.

Nice Hotel”

City Suites was very convenient and pleasant. My daughter and I arrived into TPE very late at night. The hotel was a 5-minute ride away. Our check-in went quicly and smoothly. The rooms were very nice and clean-many ammenities. We stayed here again a week later because we had an early morning flight. Staff was friendly. The main draw for this hotel is the location to the airport. There's not much else around this area. The buffet breakfast was primarily Asian and didn't appeal to my spoiled, American taste. My daughter found it very adveturesome.

Perfect for a layover stop”

This hotel was the first exit next to the airport, about 5 minutes away. I had come in from Thailand at night and needed to be early for a flight the next morning to Tokyo. Make sure the cab driver takes you to the City suites hotel with the big neon sign, not the newer hotel right in the airport. The staff is friendly and speaks english. I was upgraded to a bigger room when I arrived, but there was no shower curtain in my bathroom. I had a free Chinese breakfast buffet in the morning before I went to the airport.

The hotel is conveniently located about 300m from MRT Dayuan station, which was actually why we chose it at the first place since we need to stay around Taoyuan area. Kind staff and comfortable room, except that the heating didn’t work. It was cold in our room and when I reported to the receptionist, she simply told me to turn off the aircon which obviously didn’t solve the problem :|

Good enough for just a quick overnight”

i found the overall look of the hotel to be quite nice and good for the price point. it's a great choice if you want somewhere afforadable to stay the night before taking off in the airport. not at all good for sightseeing, though. you can find hotels at this price point anywhere in taipei so if you are looking to sightsee, pick somewhere in the city. from the airport to hotel was about 5 minutes by taxi, i speak zero chinese but was able to get there easily. the cost there was about twd, the price back to the airport was twd. i have no idea why the slight price difference but it was negligible. the front staff spoke adequate english. the only problem with service we encountered was that the wifi password written everywhere (even on your room key envelope) was incorrect. when we inquired about it, they just referred us to the same password written everywhere. we had to go to three different staff to get another answer. the wifi password isn't long enough to be a wifi password so it has basically always been different. why they have posted it incorrectly everywhere is a total mystery. the room was actually very nice, i thought. the bathroom had a rainfall shower, the comforter was nice and the bed was huge and comfortable. the tv was not a flat screen and thus looked out of place with the rest of the room which was quite modern. there are not any food options around except for the local 7/11. the dinner buffet in the hotel wasn't very good but it was pretty cheap (like 350twd or something) so it sufficed. the area though, was quite crowded and i was forcibly pushed out of the way several times by other patrons. it was kind of scary, to be honest. your best bet would be to go late for dinner or very early for dinner before the crowds. food disappeared quickly. we went for an early breakfast which was free and lacked good options. it was okay and less crowded since it was only 7am.

Great location, great facility”

I arrived late at TPE, after the last train out to Taichung. So I needed to stay a night to catch an early train the next morning. The location of this hotel cannot be better. Taxi ride from the airport to the hotel is 5 min, for 140 TWD, and 7 min from the hotel to the Taoyuan High-speed Rail Station, for 250 TWD. The room is clean and modern. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom and shower are at excellent condition. The buffet breakfast offers good choices of both Chinese and American foods. I will definitely come back again if I need a one-night stay in similar situations.

Great location, huge rooms, could not ask for more”

This hotel is a short taxi ride from Taoyuan Airport, and the view is actually out onto a part of the runway! Despite this was quiet and quite luxurious, which was a surprise given the location and price. The rooms were very large, along with the beds, and had good furnishings (except for the dated TV!) Also the breakfast buffet the next morning had a good range of options. Great find!
