Definitely to have a second time”
I was attracted to Beacon Hotel in Agoda because of the location that is near Fengjia Night Market (it's one of the biggest night market in Taiwan!) I've also heard that the Taiwan celebrity Fanfan has stayed in this hotel before (which further convinced that this hotel could be really good). During the first time, boyfriend and I took a coach from Taoyuan Airport to Taichung Chao Ma bus stop which took about 2 hours plus (this will allow you to save some money from taking the HSR!). Beacon is nowhere to be seen from Chao Ma as it's about 20 minutes of walking distance. We still found our ways by asking for directions. But it's recommended to take a taxi to Beacon instead. Don't think it will cost much :) Tips for directions: it's very near Fengjia University as well :) Once you've located the University, it's easier to find Beacon. The hotel is located right beside Guang Nan outlet where they have almost everything ranging from IT stuff to books to stationeries. Very convenient to get your everyday items if you're at Beacon. The check-in is at the highest level instead of ground level. Supposing the check-in should be 3pm but despite reaching earlier, one of the staff member immediately informed us when the room was ready at 2.45pm. The advanced check-in service really leaves a good impression. Although the room may be small, it's very comfortable. The interior is modern and comfy. You'll find almost everything you need in the room. Bed is comfy. Breakfast cafe is cosy and comfortable! Food variety is not too bad. Although they have simple food like sausages and vege but it's all tasty. They have corn flakes as well. Fengjia Night Market is indeed 5 minutes walk away (or even quicker). Instead of travelling to further places, I decided to spend the two nights walking around Fengjia because it's SO NEAR! Good enough to spend the nights :) Food in Fengjia is generally AWESOME. Overall, I will DEFINITELY come back to this hotel. Excellent!

Great Location”
I stayed in Beacon hotel for one night during my stay in Taichung. I took a bus from the airport to chao ma station (twd $240) followed by a cab (less than $100) to reach Beacon Hotel. Since the Beacon hotel was in a prime location, the cab driver was able to find the hotel easily. Clean and comfortable hotel. Although it is almost twice the price of normal minsu around the area, im still willing to pay for this hotel. Prime location: - Few minutes from Wu Tai street where good quality korean clothes are sold with reasonable price - Right next to a macdonald. - Few steps aways from a smaller night market where most are the nice food in fengjia night market are available there too - 5 minutes walk to fengjia night market.

Very convenient and comfortable! ”
We stayed in beacon for a night on 11 Oct 2011. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of fengjia night market and it makes visiting the night market a breeze. The hotel entrance is located right next to macdonalds and the lobby is located on the 12th floor. The staff were friendly and helpful with our enquiries. The room is beautiful and comfortable but a little small. But that isnt an issue since we dont have much luggage. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at beacon and would definitely return if I visit taichung again!

Centrally located hotel with comfortable bed”
Beacon hotel is centrally located at Fengjia night market which is very accessible for us to explore the night market. The room is small but they have the most comfortable bed in our Taiwan trip. Buffet breakfast was good and wide variety for 4 star hotel. Design for the hotel is more of minimalist. Overall, we are glad to choose Beacon for our stay in Taichung. We'll definitely stay again.

Good Location, Clean Rooms & Excellent Customer Service”
First time to Taiwan, first hotel we stayed in Taiwan. First impression of hotel was great, we had a free upgrade to a pretty nice room at Level 11. Love the fact that Fengjia Night Market was just a minute away from our hotel. There is a free shuttle bus service from Taichung HSR (note that the "free" bus only applicable if you have their youyou card - it can be easily purchased at any convenience stores) so be sure to get it before you board the bus. Platform 12, Bus# 1602. Duration from Taichung HSR to Beacon Hotel is about less than 30mins. Alight at Fengjia University stop and the hotel is just around the corner. Will recommend this hotel to visitors who wants to shop.

My family stayed at Beacon hotel in Taichung for two days . We booked two family suite and the rooms was big and comfortable .Fast check in and the staffs were so friendly and attentive . The hotel is super near to the famous Fengjia night market in Taichung. Will definitely stay there again if I visiit Taichung !

Comfortable Stay with convenient location”
I enjoyed my 3 days 2 night stay at Beacon Hotel.Their staff were friendly,rooms were clean and comfortable.However their breakfast quality may need some improvement.Location of the hotel is next to Fengjia Night Market just a few steps away from the hotel.You may find that the hotel is also surrounded by shopping areas.The shop products range from TWD 100-TWD 5000++. If ur target of the trip is for food and shopping,this will be the hotel.There is a bus stop where u can take the bus to the railway station as well. Take bus in Taichung which is very cheap.

Smack in middle in Feng Chia Night Market.”
I visited Taichung specifically for the Feng Chia Night market and chose the Beacon Hotel based on the reviews shown here in Agoda. The hotel breakfast is provided to us for free and the quality is top grade in terms of quality and variety, none of those free breakfast low quality types. The location of the hotel is also highly attractive to shoppers looking for a pit stop to rest after shopping halfway to drop off the bags. I highly recommend this hotel based on above attributes and the price point consideration.

Right choice for Taichung stay”
Right choice made for our Taichung stay. Hotel is located within the Fengjia shopping district. Parking area is limited (actually only a drop-off area), and service lobby is on the 12th floor. There are laundry and ironing facilities located on the 8th floor, comfy bed, nice city view from our room made us very happy. However, there is limited shower space inside the toilet, we are not able to move ourselves freely within the small cubicle. The 2 lifts took forever time to reach our floor (9th); especially so during dinner time, breakfast time and guests' departure time. Buffet breakfast is at 7am. Nonetheless, it was good to stay at Beacon as the hotel is located at a strategic location where there are ample choices of food and shopping. we could just eat and shop, bring our things back to our room and, back to eat and shop again! Beacon will be my choice of hotel stay if I ever travel to Taichung again.

Located right at the start of FengJia Night Market was why I chose this hotel. It did not disappoint me. The hotel was well equipped and the room was comfortable and modern. The staffs were attentive to our needs and never failed to reach out to help us anytime. The breakfast in the morning was international buffet. It was good. As we were there when typhoon Fitow struck, the staff even called to check if we required to extend one more night of stay. I would still pick Beacon the next time I head to Taichung.

Nice hotel”
Overall, my stay at beacon hotel was not bad. Walk down is fengjia night market. Good location if u wants to stay near fengjia. Bad point is that the room is a bit small. Their breakfast was not bad. Price paid was quite steep if the price is cheaper it might attracts more customer. Their hotel check in only start at 3. Maybe bring forward to 2? Coz usually customer check out at 11. 3hrs of cleaning time should be enough.

1 minute to Fengjia Night Market”
Our main purpose was to stay very close to Fengjia so that we can shop late into the night and walk back to hotel. This hotel fulfils our requirements. The hotel feels new and the staff are friendly. The room is carpeted which I like, room size is adequate and the bathroom size is okay too. The area in which we have the breakfast is spacious and nicely decorated but the breakfast is average with no omelette station. It is the same for the two nights that we stayed. There is nothing much to see or do near our hotel in the day time and it only comes alive after 6pm. I would suggest visitors to Taichung to hire a taxi driver and bring you to the outskirts of Taichung during the day. The driver brought us to Xinshe which has the Flower Expo (Nov to Dec only), Carton King and Moncoeur. We ended the day at the other end of Taichung, watching the sun set at Gaomei Wetlands.

Located right beside Fengjia Night Market and the hotel is very accessible to buses around Taichung. Family Suite is very spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Definitely will return to Beacon Hotel again! Will highly recommend Family Suites if you are travelling in a group of 4. Note: There is only on bathroom.

Beacon hotel is conveniently located at Fengjia night market, one of the best night markets to go in Taiwan. Furthermore, the hotel is newly renovated. The hotel staffs are friendly and will introduced you places to visit.Oh and we had the best breakfast at Beacon hotel for the whole Taiwan trip. For the price, Beacon hotel is certainly value for money.

great location and nice room”
we stayed at beacon hotel for 2 nights recently. it was a lovely stay. the location was great! just in the midst of the fengjia shopping and night market area, which means that we could shopped till the shops closed and not having to worry about finding our way back to the hotel. the hotel was recently renovated and the lobby and rooms are simply great! we had a family suite that came with one double bed and two single beds. there were two tvs and a separate sofa area which suited us well. the room was clean. the bathroom was a bit small & tight but we didn't mind as it meant that more space was given to the actual room. breakfast was included as part of the package. the spread was okay, mix of porridge, noodles, scrambled eggs, bread etc. however, as we went for breakfast at 930am (closed at 10am), we had very limited choices left. there was also no refill for the eggs and vegetables. so we just have toasted bread only. there was a laundry room but had to pay to use the washing machine and dryer. would advise you to go to the many laundry shops nearby instead as it's more value for money.

Double "C" - Comfortable and Convenience”
Though we only had a one-night stay in Beacon, but we find the hotel very easily accessible. Just down the street is one of the most famous FengJia Nite Market. Reception staff are friendly, approachable and helpful whenever I require any assistance. Will definitely return to stay in Beacon if I travel to Taichung again.

Best Hotel in Taichung”
I did not face any major problem during my stay. However on the first day, the rack in the toilet came off and the staff fixed it the following day. Beacon Hotel is within Fengjia Night Market, but yet there wasn't any noise pollution. It is definitely a great place to stay at if anyone is travelling to Taichung.

Still my favourite hotel in Taichung”
We first stayed in Beacon Hotel in Nov 2012 and loved everything about it. The location was great, just 10 - 15 min from Taichung HSR and it's right at the beginning of Feng Jia Night Market, which is a MUST when we visit Taichung. Great location means you can shop till you drop, bring all your loots back to the hotel and rest your feet for a while, then continue to shop again till late night about 1am. The breakfast spread was a mix of local and international food. Consider this a superb economical hotel.
