A great place to stay in the city”

I was so happy with my room there. It was clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly. They were very helpful and kind. The breakfast was fantastic with so many choices. I will definitely stay there again.

It is nice hotel, which is nearby train station. Facilities are wel appointment. By the way, my favor one is rooftop outside swimming pools. Physical relax under Sun shine and lovely blue sky.

Overall not bad, except the reception counter is very small and located inside the mall which looks like a mall reception instead of the one at a 5star hotel. I am not sure if there is a real reception counter, if yes, more reminder can be given to customers. For the staff, the male staff was ok, while female staff didn’t smile a lot when facing customers. Improvement is required as a 5star hotel.

Great Value for Hotel”

I stayed at Howard Plaza Hotel for 2 nights during my trip in Kaohsiung in May. I checked in pretty late due to flight schedules, upon arrival, the bell boy in the lobby directed me to the Reception/Lounge on the 21st floor to check-in. The staff was speedy and all the documents were ready and I was able to get to my room within 5 minutes. Though no staff offered to take our luggage to our room, the reception lady sent us off to the lift. The room is quite big, slightly on the old side, but for the price we got it for, it was acceptable. Though furniture and carpets look a bit old, the bed and the bathroom were reasonably clean with all basic toiletries provided. The wireless connection in the room was speedy and it was free of charge. One slight problem with the Howard Plaza Hotel is that it is a bit far from the metro station, around 10 minutes walk which was acceptable for May but may be quite annoying during the summer and rainy days with luggages. Buffet breakfast was included with the room rate and there were a variety of cuisines available along with fruits, coffee. Surprisingly, there was even ice-cream available in the morning. The hotel isn't too crowded during breakfast time and the staff are constantly collecting dishes and utensils to ensure guests had a clean table to eat as they return from the buffet area. There is a big night market close by, walking distance of 10 minutes as it is just opposite the metro station exit. Plenty of local food and drinks for an evening snacks, you can even walk back to the hotel and enjoy them in the room. Overall, the hotel room, staff and the food were great, the one major bad thing would be the hotel's slight distance from the metro station.

The Howard Plaza is centrally located with a great view of the city to the north and south. It's a quiet hotel in a relatively quiet part of town. There are plenty of restaurants (e.g., Chinese, Tex-Mex, Thai, Vietnamese) that are all within walking distance. One of the main reasons we chose this place was it was one of the few with a pool that is open year-round. Many hotels in Kaohsiung close their outdoor pool down for "the winter", despite the city being in the tropics. It actually hit 30 degrees Celsius at the end of December, while we were staying there. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Howard Plaza Excellent Value - Premium Service”

The Howard Plaza is an easy walking distance to the MRT (underground subway station). Rooms are a decent size, clean and well serviced. Shower stalls adequate with excellent water pressure and temperature control. The toilets are all equipped with electronic bidets, with various buttons and features. My derriere was pampered throughout my stay, to say the least. Taxis available at the front door and various convenience stores within close proximity from the hotel. Bell hops are pretty quick in opening your car doors, but quicker to solicit a fee for temporary parking. Beverages available at low cost in the Family Mart convenience store next to the hotel. Good wireless internet service within the hotels. A few varied TV channels available to view via IPTV. There are multitudes of local dining fare nearby, so don't be afraid to try. I would come back again to Howard Plaza!

A good place for relax after a long day travelling”

Overall, a very pleasure stay at Howard Plaza Hotel, very clean, good service, and nice location as well. The price that we ordered is relatively cheap and it worthy every penny for it. Unlike other 5-star hotel overseas, I'm kinda disappointed in their department stores, which sells some local clothing that would be found in the chain stores, not really suitable for a 5-star hotel.
