Excellent experience”

My stay at the Best Western Premier Kukdo Hotel was excellent. The staff were very helpful and attentive, the nightly rates (given the hotel's location) were excellent when booked through Agoda, and the hotel's proximity to the Green Subway Line (Line #2) made it very easy to travel throughout the greater Seoul Metropolitan Area with minimal difficulty. The room was large and spacious, housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient, and the hotel overall had a very clean feeling.

We are resident in Korea and frequently visit Seoul, usually staying at 4-star hotels in Myeongdong, popular with young Koreans and Asian tourists. This time, our usual hotels were fully booked or room rates were much increased. Agoda offered a great deal for a family room at the Kukdo hotel in a commercial district, one subway station from Myeongdong. Our room was very comfortable, with a double and a single bed, safe, minibar, free wi-fi, foreign channel tv. The bathroom was fitted with tub/shower and bidet toilet, the washing basin with big mirror was conveniently placed in the entrance area. Our room, on the 17th floor, offered a great view into the mountains. We liked the area around the hotel with its narrow alleys, undergoing re-development, but still with plenty of old Seoul feel. The hotel is a short stroll from Gwang Jang, the oldest traditional market, famous for its mung bean pancakes (bindaetteok), which are best enjoyed with traditional rice wine (makkeolli). Upstair are the order shops for traditional Korean custumes (hanbok). Even closer to the hotel, one can access Cheonggyecheon, a beautifully reclaimed stream with a peaceful walkway to Myeongdong. The hotel restaurant looked good, but we decided to eat in the small alley restaurants and had coffee next door above the convenience store. We really liked our stay at the Kukdo and will definitely come back.

Great Comfort”

This is my 3rd stay at Best Western Premiere Kukdo, and I stayed for a week in this trip. The staff is really helpful and the rooms are very clean. It is nearby number 2 subway line, which gets you to almost any hip places in Seoul. The only downside is its not-tasty, over priced breakfast. Having said that I will stay here again when I go to Seoul.

Best hotel in Seoul!”

I was a solo traveler staying at Best Western Kukdo for 3 nights. Booked a double but when I got there I guessed I got upgraded to family room which was a king bed+single bed! At first I was put on smoking floor but after minutes of insists later finally transferred to a non-smoking one. I guessed I should have mentioned the non-smoking floor during booking like the receptionist said? The hotel doesn't have the female floor like some sites claimed, but it doesn't matter coz the strategic location of the hotel makes up for it! Family room is big enough to run around for one, and the scenic at night can be quite impressive! Didn't have breakfast here so I can't really say. But concierge is quite friendly and speak english, which you will find very helpful in seoul! The bathroom is enough for two, I don't know about three, can be quite small maybe? The shower features rain-shower head, so you're guaranteed to a relaxing bath to come home to after the whole day of walking around! The king size bed is huge with loads of soft fat pillows so I always wake up happy! The only worth complaining about though things start to get rough on my last night as I was scratching during my sleep (probably they hadn't changed the sheets) and the towels start to smell. In any ways if I were visiting Seoul I'd stay in this hotel again but I'd make sure next time to remind them to change the sheets frequently and bring me extra towels.

My stay at the Best Western Premier kukdo hotel was awesome. It's conveniently located near the train station and major attractions like DDM and Seoul Station. Check in and out was pretty fast and efficient too. I would definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Seoul!

Excellent service”

During my stay with Best Western Premier Kukdo Hotel, I purchased some stuff from a local boutique and when the staff from the boutique delivered the package to the hotel, I wasn't around to receive the package. The hotel staff delivered the package directly to my hotel room without me having to collect from the concierge! This is an unexpected good service! Thumbs up for their excellent service. 😊

Simply one of the best location in Seoul ”

Although I do not think it is up to 5 stars but I still think it is very good. For those who are on business travelling I think this is one of the best hotel in Seoul. Especially for public transport if you are taking the airport bus from Icheon Airport. For bus route no 6015 which only cost 10,000 KRW one way that depart every 20 mins from Airport, stops right in front of the hotel. For those who travel with big luggage, it is good to know that you do not have to cross the road. So even if it is raining or in cold winter, you could just walk quickly to the hotel. Just mention Hotel Kukdo to the bus driver instead of Best Western Premier Kukdo. The bus stop is the same stop going to airport too. So it is very convenient. The Subway station is less than 5 min walking distance. The hotel is also very quiet at night as compared to City Hall or Myeon Dong area. This means it is not as close as these area to Shopping Area. However the subway is still good mode of transport. I will give this 8 out of 10 easily. I really have no problem about those who commented about the washing basin which is located outside the bath room area. The room is rather big for Seoul standard. I will definitely come back again.

Great Hotel with friendly and efficient staff”

We had a very pleasant stay in Best Western Premier Kukdo Hotel. The hotel is quite new and the rooms are well-appointed with comfortable beds. It comes with free wi-fi too, thus making us connected with friends and family while away from home. The airport bus stops right in front of the hotel such that transfers from and to the airport are hassle-free. The hotel is located in an area which sells lighting fixtures and there are no restaurants near the hotel. It is within a good distance however between Myeong-Dong and Dongdaenum and there's a subway station about 50 m from the hotel, so it makes going to the shopping areas easy .

Good stay at Best Western Kukdo”

i was looking to stay around myeongdong area for a night to do my shopping and was perplexed as to what hotel to choose, as there were a few. however, after a thorough research i decided on best western premier kukdo hotel due to overall good reviews and close proximity to my desired location. the hotel stands on a main street and is about 10-15 (depending how fast you walk) minutes walking distance from myeongdong, and a few steps away from euljiro 4 station, exit 10 which is linked to the euljiro 1 station through the underground shopping walkway. i took the walkway, as it was quite cold out that day, and found a boutique with stylish scarves. once you exit, walk straight for about a minute and the hotel is right there. to get to myeongdong, all you have to do is walk straight for about 12 minutes and then turn left and you are there. the hotel itself is clean and modern (when compared to other hotels in korea of the same stature). the lobby though is not on the main floor but the second floor. check in was very fast and i got a bb cream as a present. the hotel has something called “women’s floor” where only women can stay. it is a little more expensive and you get a basket full of cosmetics and samples for women. but i figured, why pay more and get the free basket when i’ll be shopping in myeongdong and i can choose what cosmetics i want to buy myself. i can’t remember what floor i stayed on, but it was one of the top 4 floors. my view was excellent, it was facing the namsan tower. the room wasn’t too small, beds were comfortable to sleep. there was a bathtub with soap, shampoo and conditioner, a modern toilet with features and a sink outside of the bathroom. complementary water was given as well. at the time i stayed, there european guests and a lot of japanese guests. i am quite happy with the stay and would recommend it to others.

Nice Affordable Hotel”

Best Western Premier Kukdo was a decent hotel at an affordable price. I stayed in a twin room for two nights. Upon arrival, the staff on the first floor was very welcoming and warm. On the second floor at the check-in counter, the staff were nonchalant. There was no expression, only business. Check-in and go to your room. The location was fantastic! The subway is near the hotel and it is very easy to get a taxi on the street the hotel is on. There are many places to visit and restaurants to experience near the hotel. My room was small for a twin room but comfortable and clean. I did not try the food at the hotel but the hotel restaurant looked very clean with a nice layout. Overall, there was nothing spectacular about the hotel except the location. After a long day, don't expect to be greeted warmly by the front desk. The staff was not welcoming. Although, I only stayed at this hotel for two nights, I would stay here again. My experience was not welcoming considering the staff but I was there for a short time.

Comfortable hotel with great location”

we were in seoul when it's was hit by severe floods in july 2011. kukdo was not affected. within walking distance to myeong dong, you can take the subway, the hotel's shuttle bus (limited service) or walk above ground or through the underground subway passage which has eateries and shops. for the traveller on a shopping spree, it's two subway stations cover the lines that can bring you to dongdameun and nandameun markets. sightseers can get to gwanghwameun directly, or even walk through the connected underground (about 30 mins). rooms are decently sized and the restaurant offers a reasonable lunch semi-buffet which was frequented by the people working in the area. there are at least two convenience stores next to the hotel. there is one eatery near the hotel which serves home-style food and you need to speak korean. we had our meals in myong dong which was not too far to get to, even in the rain.

I stay at best western premier kukdo hotel 2 night. This hotel is the middle between myeongdong and dongdaemun. About hotel room, it's not large but modern and clean. But room service is not available after midnight. However, it has family mart at the right side near hotel. And very comfortable when wanna go back to incheon international airport because limusin bus stop is in front of this hotel too. If I will come to seoul next time. I will choose best western premier kukdo hotel again.

Not as good as the first time. ”

The first time we stayed at the Best Western Premier Kukdo (August 2013) Hotel we were very impressed. It was extremely quiet, the internet worked well and the staff was very nice. The breakfast buffet was expensive at $18. This time we stayed three nights and two out of three were extremely noisy, once time at 1:30 a.m. We did not call the front desk. The internet was almost non-existent but it was better when I stood by the sink. It would drop me about every two minutes. We did not have this issue the last time when we stayed in room 2006. This time we were across the hall in room 2005. The rates have gone up unless you can get a special. The price of the buffet has gone up $20 and it's really not worth it. Also this time the room was not quite as clean. There was long hair in the corner on the floor in the bathroom next to the tub and it was still there after they cleaned the next day. All in all, our opinion of the hotel dropped quite a bit mostly due to the noise. We had recommended it to several people (we now live on Jeju Island, South Korea and a lot of our friends visit Seoul frequently) but now I won't be so quick to do so. I certainly won't pay $160 per night. Downgraded to a three star.

Comfortable, good worth for price”

If your intention is to stay some time inside the hotel this is a very good choice for the cost. I arrived in the Incheon Airport, took the 6015 bus, cost 10.000 wons (less than 6 euros) that stop in some hotels, including Best Western kukdo, don't forget to ring before the stop (see stops in the info inside the bus). Several underground entrances close the hotel. The surrounds of the hotels are not so nice like other areas, with lots of stores side by side with local commerce of different prices, maybe this is the reason for the good price. However the place is safe. The room conditions are very good. Free Wifi is OK. There is a safe with no cost in the room. The rooms are quite.

This hotel is ideally located in the middle of Dongdaemun, Myeongdong, and Namdaemun, which are must visits for tourists that wish to shop their heart outs. The Seoul/Namsan Tower is also close to this hotel. Either 15-30 minute walking distance or 1-2 subway stops away. But then again, Seoul is tiny, so most places are easily accessed via the subway station. The closest subway station is approximately less than 5 minute walking distance from this hotel. We went in June, so it did get a little hot/humid in the room. We asked the front to turn up the air. Apparently, they sometimes turn off the AC at night, so it is only the fan that's running. No good. I like it ice cold in my room, but it was bearable. There is an airport shuttle that drops you off at this hotel for a nominal price, but unfortunately, we didn't have the chance to partake in its services since our flight arrived past 11pm. We took the taxi instead, which cost about 85 USD. We had to take a bigger taxi because we had 4 in our party with lots of luggage. Didn't eat at their restaurant, so can't give review for that.

wonderful stay and great location ”

Wonderful stay in BW Premier Kukdo Hotel. Location is a plus point and within a minute walk from subway and direct bus to most shopping area. Near to local market. Although it's not a five stars hotel but with five star standard. Will stay again if visit seoul again.

Good business hotel”

We stayed in 2 hotels while in Seoul. We preferred the first one, more cozy and design, but Best Western was still good, typical business hotel. No special charm. But functional and clean. Located within a walking distance of Dongdaemun, have to go around the corner to access a street with food. The staff is efficient, very helpful with the airport bus or scaring away taxis that wanted to bother us while we waited for the airport bus that is right in front of the hotel door, couldn't be more practical so it was a good choice for our last days in Seoul.

Great Hotel for Couple Away from the crowd”

It was a pleasant stay at est Western Premier kukdo hotel. The view from the hotel is great. The interior deco and toilet is well done up. Plus point: the hotel has a air port express bus-stop right at the door step of the hotel and the staff will keep a look out for the bus while you stand waiting in the lobby away from the cold.
