"The hotel is very comfort for short stay 2-3 days. The very small room for 3 people makes us comfort because of the cleanliness and complete facilities. We are 8 people who stayed in 3 triple bedrooms, and we all satisfied with the price of agoda gave to us. We planned to bring our own family come back to Irene City Hotel in Seoul and look forward other Irene Hotels in the world."

"thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this hotel. really no complaints at all and definitely my first choice for future trips to Seoul. hotel is literally 5 mins walk from the subway station and lots of restaurants/cafes nearby and a convenience store just opposite. there is a korean bbq restaurant also just opposite the hotel that is highly recommended. great food at very reasonable prices. room was new, modern and comfortable. dvd player in the room. way above expectations relative to what i paid. "My friend and I booked the standard twin room. It was small but cosy. There was daily room cleaning service. There is no lift at the hotel but fortunately, the male staffs carried our luggages to our room for us. The staffs were friendly and approachable. The hotel is easy to locate and very centralised as it is at Seoul station. Would definitely stay there again the next time we visit Korea. "

"I booked this hotel for my extended stay in Seoul after an official seminar. When I first booked Sae Rim, I was afraid I could not easily find it since it said so in a 2009 review which i wasn't able to read first before booking. So I really did not expect much. But I was in for a nice surprise. Location is perfect. Unlike the prior review, there was a small red sign just along Insadong at the corner of the alley where it is located. There was also a money changer conveniently located. It is about 300 meters to Angguk station and distance isn't really a problem since you can do sightseeing at the same time. The linens and towels smelled fresh and the room was cleaned everyday. Big LCD TV with 2 English movie channels. Everything was provided. There were free bottled water and juice in the fridge, a telephone for oustside calls and a working desktop to communicate. Rooms size were not so big but enough for us couple. Wifi is available at the receiving area. If you are heading to Incheon International airport, there is a bus stop at the Angguk station. The trip was worth W10,000. Bus is available at 5:30 am and arrives every 15 minutes. Quite a good deal compared with the W80,000 taxi-ride. Also, if you wanna get around through the sub, try getting their money card. I got mine for W2,500 at a convenience store and just reloaded when needed. Gyeongbukdong, the largest palace, and 'Stream' (sort of park) were just walking distance from Insadong / Angguk. (Around 10-15 mins walk). Great opportunity for sightseeing. Also, there was a tourist center near the hotel where you can borrow Hanbok and take pictures for free. Sure, it isn't five star but the price i paid was all worth it. "

"The hotel is literally in the shopping area of Myeongdong. The rooms are small but clean. House keeping cleans the rooms daily. The staff speaks English and are very accommodating. Our family would like to commend Joanne who is in the hotel's front desk as she was able to assist us in our inquiries and exerted extra effort in helping us to get a contact person to tour us to Seoraksan National Park which is 3 hours away from Seoul. We are seven during our trip and asks questions to her from time to time. Thank you for all your effort. "

"Korstay is my "home" in Seoul, that's my first impression when i first reach the hotel. I am a sole traveller and were at Seoul for 10 days. I stayed at Korstay the entire trip and i never felt like home when i travel and this is my first time i have such a feeling. I would like to thank Jimmy, Andy and Huang Wu Ying for their warmth hospitality. Korstay, in chinese, it is translated as "Korea friend's house". It's not hotel but the room is cozy and it makes me feel that i am in my own room, with my private bathroom. The room equipped with a double bed (since it is a double room). Simple but just good enough. The bathroom is clean. They also provided some lotions and face liquids and it's not those small traveller's size, it's those household 1 litre size. At first, i booked the hotel and then saw a review that no internet access in room except the public area. I called and requested for a room with good reception of wifi because i need to check work emails daily. They promised and gave me room and i am very satisfied. The hotel is very new, started last July 2012 and it's clean and convenient. Everything is just walking distance (within 5 minutes) - lots of restaurants, convenient shops, Watson, McD, Outback steakhouse and even the market is just on the next street where you can get all the fresh foods and fruits. The hotel does not have lifts but no worries, the guys who work there are very kind and strong and willing to lend their hands to carry your luggage. Although it's small, they took care of my breakfast. I got morning call every morning whenever the breakfast is ready. It's a simple english breakfast with bread, ham, egg and salad but it was freshly made by the guys. i really appreciate this gesture. Apart from Korean, english, speak english and i think.....japanese? So, i never have a feeling that i am at Korea at all. Korstay, i will be home again"

"Modern hotel in great location for Hongdae activities. This is my fave hotel for weekend trips to Seoul to get a fix of live music (e.g., Club FF) and techno (Vurt). Plus, walking distance to great bars (Woodstack) and "ethnic" food (Gusto). The minimal-crisp decor (marble floor, platform cush bed) and fabulous restroom (marble/glass with best "rain" shower) are such a wonderful relief from the hectic Hongdae area to restore for hitting the town/nightlife. Quite, super clean/spotless, friendly staff. So worth it!"

More about Seoul

Seoul is a city of enchanting history and economic success, a destination worthy of both the leisure and business traveler. International travelers are introduced to the city via the Seoul Incheon International Airport. Short term travelers have the option of modern airport hotels, but it is only a 30-minute ride into the city from here.

Those looking to experience the city’s culture have much going for them. The highlight here would be Changdeok-gung, a royal palace dating back to 1405 and a World Heritage Site. Between the grand sites are a collection of royal shrines, Buddhist temples, and museums. The DMZ, or de-militarized zone separating North and South Korea, makes for a worthy day-trip as well.

Shopping is undoubtedly available in abundance here. The areas around Insadong Street are some of the most famous in South Korea, offering gift shops, art galleries, and traditional tea shops. Myeong-dong offers up-market shopping amongst a collection of Western-styled hotels. In Gangnam, visitors will find the upscale dining and entertainment venues. This district also boasts the city’s latest shops and hotels.
