Comfortable stay”

We had a great stay at Rihga Royal Hotel! The staff were very attentive and the roos very big and comfortable on the Japanese standard. The shuttle bus to and from Takadanobaba was very convenient (although it could've run more often), and the hotel is only a short walk to Waseda University which was our main destination this time. The breakfast range was good too. Would definitely stay again!

Nice hotel with shuttle to JR Yamamoto line st”

Rihga royal has excellent balance in room size, price and hotel quality of service! It is just located next to waseda university , transportation is fine via shuttle o 10-15 mins walk from JR / metro stations! Suitable for family trip as hotel room is just enough in size and comfortable ! It is few stations next to ueno and akakusa!

Pretty good”

The hotel was super luxurious, you will feel like living in a royal European kingdom. The facilities in the room was super complete, and the staffs showed great attention and respect. The room is super comfortable, just like the pic. I didn't order a breakfast, and 1 person cost about 2500 JPY. However, the hotel is far from Shinjuku station and the buses to and from Takanodababa were not that frequent and stopped operaring at 9pm. This made tourists like us have to take taxi if we arrived in the night, which we did.

Great stay with a toddler”

We had a great experience staying at this hotel with our little one. They had the child protective bed rail to keep our kid safe. The staff was so kind to bring a toy to my kid when he was crying at the Japanese restaurant. One negative experience is that the Chinese restaurant was so pretentious that they refused to bring my desert to our room at the end of the course when I had to bring back my kid to our room as well as they didn't let us come in to just have desert and tea unless we order a course. Overall, this place might be the place we will use every time when we visit Tokyo.

We stayed at its sister hotel in Kyoto, so were expecting a similar experience. But this place was very very nice!! Beds are comfortable, toilets very clean (and futuristic) as well as the loveliest of staff. Super super impressed. There were a few weddings happening at the reception when we came, which just added to the charm of the hotel. We didn't get breakfast at the hotel, which we wish we had as it is quite expensive when you are there. There is a free bus from the hotel to the closest JR station, which made life a lot easier. However this runs from certain times, so would recommend checking this. The closest metro station is Waneda which is a 8 min walk from the hotel, not far at all. Lots of wonderful food places ranging in prices around. Loved my stay!!

Every thing is good except location”

The hotel is superb considering it's in Tokyo, spacious, nice building and layout, very good value for money. We even happen to see sakura in the nice big courtyard. Location is only problem, not close to train station and hotel shuttle is only 30 min each, stop at 9pm

We had a very comfortable stay for 6 days we were in Tokyo. The staffs were friendly and helpful. Their room service was excellent and quick. It was worth it to stay here although it is not situated in the main areas of Tokyo. The hotel provides shuttle service to Takadanobaba train station but its also a walking distance from the Waseda tram and subway.

Value for money, near Hotel Chinzanso (conference hotel)”

Free shuttle bus between the train station and the hotel was very punctual and reliable, thumbs up to the driver who provided hotel guests much convenience. Hotel room was clean. Staff was polite and helpful. They even provided guests with a mobile phone that had access to internet and could make calls (even international ones) for free! Breakfast was good though they should try to change the menu every day. I was there for a conference (held at Hotel Chinzanso which was fully booked) and decided to book this - thankful for the close proximity between the 2 locations by foot (cutting through the hill).

Decent”

It's a nice place. The hotel is pretty good, the furniture/feel of the room feels a tiny bit 'old' but I think that's the style they're going for. With that said, the room was completely sufficient - clean, big, had everything we needed. The Free WIFI was also good and quite quick. So, no complaints. The only thing I didn't really like is that usually hotels (in my experience at least) include free access to facilities like the pool or sauna. In this case, it worked out to be around AU$70 per person (per day) to use the pool and sauna. I didn't feel that was a very good deal, especially when we are paying guests of the hotel. That's probably just me though. 8/10 would bang!

The best hotel for our family!!”

When deciding a hotel, it is the most important to know what you really want. For active youths, this hotel's location can be a serious drawback; however, it will be a perfect place for a family with children. The room is clean, spacious and comfortable with wonderful view and breakfast is good. We had an enjoyable night at Ikebukuro and came back to the hotel wit taxi fare of 1500 Yen. If you have a family trip and are willing to pay a little taxi fare, I would highly recommend this hotel!!!

Amazing Hotel Staff”

I loved the staff and their commitment to great service. Everything was taken care for our stay and they were quick to make additional arrangements or help us with our luggage in and out of the cabs and shuttle buses. The view of the garden and city is breath taking and very relaxing after a long, busy Tokyo day. The location is a bit out of the way, but they have a very convenient shuttle bus that regularly stops at Takadanobaba station. On the down side there was one minor and one major thing that could have improved the stay. The minor annoyance was the short hours for the lounge area. It has a great view of the garden and both service and access are closed after 7:30 every night. It's a shame as it seems like it would be a great place to relax at night even if desert and drinks were not available. The bigger issue we had was with the Chinese restaurant. The staff and management style is quite pretentious. They never had more then 5 or 6 tables seated and yet they seemed to have an attitude of superiority. I found them quite inflexible and uninterested in providing guests with a four star experience. Skip the Chinese restaurant and go to the Japanese restaurant down by the bar where they are much much more accommodating and down to earth.

Pros: Beautiful Hotel ! Staff are courteous, helpful and professional. They provided a phone with UNLIMITED DATA and CALLS ( to select countries) which is very useful to travellers . Our room was always made up neatly and replenished with bathroom supplies everyday. They also provided a FREE shuttle to and from the nearest train station. Cons: Improve to provide a different menu for daily breakfast . It is quite hard to have the same breakfast for 5 days straight.

Excellent place to stay”

Excellent place to stay. Staff is really friendly and very helpful. Place is very clean and very thorough cleaning is done every day on the make-up rooms. The rooms are also spacious and very comfortable. Location is not very central, but they have shuttle bus to a nearby train/metro station. A beautiful park is located just behind the hotel.

Fantastic service & a delightful stay ”

Accommodation was well furnished, thoughtfully decorated, very spacious (esp for Japan), and sparkling clean. Staff were incredibly polite, friendly and very helpful, particularly in replying emails before I checked in. While RR might not be right in the heart of a bustling street, it was within walking distance of Hotel Chinsanzo (for work) and offers a quiet and comfortable stay. The in-house shuttle bus also made travelling much easier. Would definitely recommend!

Our stay was great. It was beyond out expectations and we got a pretty good deal for the size of room that we got. It had an awesome view of the garden, and the shuttle bus to the JR station was very very convenient.
