Great business hotel”
Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome (pronounced as Shi-o-do-me) is very modern styled hotel. The location and amenities of the hotel suggests it is targeted at business travellers. However, Shiodome is also a reasonably good location for tourists - near Ginza and Tsukiji market. The Caretta Sky Restaurant in the next building provides for good view of the Southern Tokyo Bay view and one can see Daiba from there. It is reasonably near Shimbashi station so getting around is easy. The size of the room is much bigger than other typical Tokyo hotel rooms I have stayed, so that comforted me somewhat during my stay (I was very afraid that the room will be very small).

Good value hotel in an excellent location.”
This hotel doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other hotels in the Shiodome region (eg swimming pool, gym, dining room for evening meals) but for us, a couple on holiday, it was perfect. The rooms are relatively spacious and are well equipped, and there are useful laundries around the hotel. The location is excellent: close to Ginza, Shinbashi and Odaiba with excellent transport connections. If all you want is a clean, modern hotel rather than the luxuries of a higher price hotel then Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome would be an excellent choice.

Beautiful hotel in a great location”
I stayed three nights at the Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome. It appears to be a pretty new hotel, and it is very nice. My room was small, but I didn't spend much time in it, anyway. I could walk to the Ginza shopping district very easily. Subway access is very close. The food at the breakfast buffet didn't really change from day to day, but it was fine. It was probably half Japanese food, half western food. My last night at the hotel I ordered a one-hour massage through the front desk. They advised me that the masseuse was not young. I didn't care about that, as I wanted just a massage. The masseuse was friendly, but she was quite old, perhaps late 50's/early 60's? Anyway, the massage was mediocre. I think the masseuse was too old to put enough strength into the massage. I didn't really feel any benefits from the massage, and it cost 600 yen for the hour.

Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome”
Our stay at hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome was excellent. The hotel is in a great location, a short walk to Ginza and close to many major transport links. The staff were always very helpful and willing to provide a range of services, including restaurant reviews and reccomendations. Our room was large with very good facilities and we really appreciated the opportunity to hire a laptop overnight to access the wireless connection in the room. The breakfast provided isn't great, and a wider range of foods could be provided.

Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome”
Most hotels in Japan provide very small rooms, so I was very surprised by the size of my room at the Hotel Villa Fontaine. The bed was about the size of the room at a hotel I payed the same amount of money for. The hotel provides all the accommodations that are standard of a Japanese hotel- PPV TV, LAN based internet, and a shoe polishing service. However, the complimentary breakfasts and the room sizes make the hotel a great deal for the price. While the hotel is not directly next to any famous or particularly interesting parts of Tokyo, it is adjacent to a subway station, and maybe 30-45 minutes by foot from Ginza.

Magnificent Hotel with Very Convenient Location”
I was really impressed by the quality of the Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome. Everything was excellent: the location, the staff, the food, the building itself. The hotel is in Ginza, one of central districts, so there are a lot of sights nearby. If you want to see other Tokyo places of interests, you can get there by different transport means - all kinds of them are available from this hotel. At night gorgeous views can be seen from various specific platforms.

Villa Fotaine Shiodome - April 2010”
We stayed in a superior room at the Villa Fontaine Shiodome for three nights in April 2010. The hotel is very stylish and located in a spectacular skyscraper, very conveniently located. The waterfront and Shiodome station are only short walks away using the elevated pedestrian walkways. There are a number of restaurants and shops within the building and neighbouring blocks We stayed in a superior room for three nights. The room had all the facilities you could expect including (for a touch of 1970's nostalgia?) a trouser press. However it was a bit short on wardrobe space and vitally no drawers. The room was clean and well maintained and we found the hotel staff polite and efficient when we needed them. There was a good variety of food at the breakfast buffet. All in all it feels very oriented towards business travellers but still provided a very comfortable and convenient hotel for sightseeing in Tokyo.

Great Location, Great Price, Great Rooms”
This is our second stay at Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome. We enjoy its proximity to JR, metro, and monorail transportation, as well as the waterbus jetty in Hamrikyu Garden. The hotel is a business hotel, and does not have as many facilities as most hotels. But that suits us: all we want is a nice room, and a simple breakfast (free of charge in the Hotel). There are plenty of restaurants close to the hotel. We've seen some comments regarding small room sizes. We always book twin bed rooms, as opposed to double bed rooms, in Japan because they are usually more spacious. The Hotel Villa Fontaine twin bed rooms are every bit as spacious as the hotels we stay in in Sydney and other Australian cities.

Fantastic hotel with everything you need”
We had a fantastic 2 nights in Tokyo made easy by our stay at the Villa Fontaine Shiodome. The hotel is linked directly to the subway station so is really easy to find. The lobby space is impressive and the room, whilst small by western standards, was bigger than I expected after reading about Japanese hotels. The large double bed was very comfortable with a choice of two pillows each - one soft, one hard. Overall a very convenient and comfortable hotel. We would definitely stay again.

Villa Fontaine Shiodome”
This is a great hotel and after travelling up to Hokkaido and back (and having stayed at 5 other hotels), Villa Fontaine Shiodome really great comfort to conclude my trip to Japan. The location of the hotel is awesome and you can practically walk to Ginza, without having to pay the sort of money that hotels in Ginza commands. As the hotel is being located among some really new office blocks, things can get a little too quiet in the evenings.

Great deal on an excellent all-around hotel”
Having stayed in a number of hotels in Tokyo over the last few years, I believe that the Villa Fontaine Shiodome is the best all around deal. The hotel is very clean and safe, and easy to get to from the main JR line in Tokyo (or a few of the subway lines). The staff was extremely helpful the few times they were needed, and the included breakfast is a nice touch, if not a full fledged buffet.

Great hotel at great location with great service ”
First the non-negotiables: room cleanliness & staff service: at this hotel they are exemplary given the price range. Small touches that makes a difference: At this price level you dont expect room service nor restaurant service however you can order pizza from Domino's and Chinese Food from nearby restaurant whose laminated menus can be found in your desk, all you have to do is quote them the hotel code number and the rest is a breeze. Often overlooked detail: operators speak English. This helps immensely when you are trying to order large, half-and-half classic american and deluxe supreme, on a crispy thin crust. If you must have some other hotmeals-there are at least 2 convenience stores about 3 minutes walking distance where you can find almost anything from bento boxes, odens to pasta carbonaras. vending mach. abound, there are coin op. laundromats on some floors too. Location: many opted for the obvious areas like Shinjuku, Roppongi etc. I dont like the idea of battling the hordes and trying to swim up-stream in a crowd of commuters on my way back to the hotel, especially after a whole day of walking and slugging around shopping bags(not to mention any strollers and back-packs/luggages). Shiodome/Shimbashi is perfect as it is counter-cycle to the working crowds- so in case you need to travel during peak hours- away from the city centres- you won't have to endure the 'crush'. It is up to you to time your itenirary whether you are going up/down-town at what time, use common sense but at least here you have an option. If all fails and you dont feel like making the journey out, Carreta Shiodome and Shimbashi alone have enough shops/ restaurants to choose from so you won't starve. Tsukiji fish market is 20min walk away and you can reach Tokyo Disneyland in 35min once you figure out the transfers(2 times). The Oedo line can take you directly to Shinjuku and Roppongi and Ueno, while Shimbashi station is a 100M further where you can access JR lines and Ginza line.

Amazing Value for money”
The Hotel Villa Fontaine chain regards itself as being a hotel that provides luxury style business rooms at a low cost. And they deliver. Breakfast each morning was yummy and there were laundry facilities on our floor. The Shiodome hotel is located in central Shiodome (a very new area), right next to the Conrad. There is a station for the Odaiba line within 30 seconds walk. The subway line is 3 minutes walk (One stop to Tsukiji market). The JR Shimbashi station is 6 minutes walk. Plenty of restaurants and cafe's. Don't forget to check out the Panasonic Living Center.

Best Location with Affordable Price”
An excellent choice to stay in downtown Tokyo. Located around Ginza, under the same roof with Shiodome station (or just 5 minutes walk on a nice pedestrian way to Shimbashi station — one of the busiest hub of Tokyo transportation system); we can easily reach all we want to visit in Tokyo, incl Odaiba waterfront and Tokyo Shinkansen station. With the same pedestrian way, we can walk 10 minutes to Ginza. The room space is fair — much better than almost all hotel rooms downtown Tokyo. The cleanliness is Japan-standard — nothing we can complain about. Breakfast is provided, just enough to start the day. No safety box inside the rooms. But I hear that Tokyo is one of the safest city in the world. So I guess it is OK. I recommend it.

Close to everything”
Villa Fontaine is a 15 minute walk or 2 subway stops to Ginza, 20 minute taxi ride to Disneyland and a 30 minute subway ride to Shinjuku. Location is quiet compared to the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku and Shibuya. Every place is close enough since Shiodome station is a 2 minute walk. Staff are very helpful. TV channels are predominantly Japanese but you can pay 1,000 yen for Video on Demand. Buffet breakfast is the same everyday so it gets bland if you stay for more days. Overall, this is a nice hotel and we will definitely stay again when we come back.

Well appointed rooms, great size for Tokyo. ”
This very new hotel suited our requirements perfectly. We were looking for a hotel we would have enough room in to chill out when having down time from sight seeing, but in a convenient location with good subway access. Breakfast was a bonus, as was the conveniently located corner store in the lobby. Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome was a great hotel for a sightseeing trip to Tokyo.

Great Location, Great Hotel”
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Villa Fontaine at the leisure end of a business trip. We were advised to stay in or around Ginza, which was a strong selling point for this hotel. The hotel itself is situated above one of many easily accessbile metro tube stations, so travelling around Tokyo was as easy as you like. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and well prepared and our stay was very clean and comfortable. The reception staff were brilliant in helping us arrange a shuttle bus service for us to Narita airport for our return flight. It was all stress free and very well organised. Would definitely recommend.

very clean and professional staff”
villa fountaine shiodome might be one of the best hotel in Tokyo for me so far. located just 10 mins walk from Shimbashi Station (JR) and Ginza Station (Subway). if you passed the exit gate of JR line, just aim the Ginza then find the Shiodome sign. Just follow the Shiodome sign, then find Mitsui Building. the hotel is inside Mitsui Building. Defly will stay here again.

Great”
- Located next to Shiodome Station, 6 min from Shinbachi Station, plenty of bar and restaurants around the hotel. - Able to walk to Tsukiji market and Ginza (15-20 min). - Transport from Narita Airport by Airport Limousine Bus to Conrad Hotel and walk about 2 minutes to this Hotel. - There is Shiodome Street Market and lovely Christmas decoration around the hotel in this month. - Free breakfast and wifi - 20 sq.m. room which is quite big for Tokyo. - However due to a fault booking, I got a single room. So, I have to pay 2000 yen more per night at check-in time for the accommodation of my roommate. - Express check out

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tokyo at Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome. The location is excellent for using public transportation or a short walk to the Ginza.
