An original classic”
first class - lovely and classic hotel in an excellent location of tokyo. a full on international place yet 100% japanese in culture and style. had breakfast with yoko ono every morning. if she chooses the okura - it must be the best. great that it is located in equal distance to both ginza line and hibiya line stations, but not as convenient as other hotels that have direct access to subway stations. if you like tokyo - you must love to walk and if you like walking you won't mind the 7 min. walk to the subway stations. rooms are large, spacious, luxurious and very nice, comfortable and clean. restaurants are excellent in service and food. only negative is no wifi in rooms and only complex (paid) wifi in lobby, though only yen 500 for 24 hours it is difficult to log into. why a fine jewel like okura doesn't have wifi in rooms is beyond my understanding and possibly the only reason i would consider another hotel next time.

Great Hotel and Service”
Had an excellent time at Hotel Okura Tokyo. Staff were friendly and polite. Location was reasonably close to the train station, however had to use the metro to get to the GR line. Hotel was clean and spacious, with adjoining rooms a bonus when traveling with large groups. The only downside was staying in the south wing, being such a large hotel, it was quite a walk everyday to get back to the rooms.

Always a tranquil experience. The level of attention is top notched.”
Since the new Okura Tokyo has opened next door, most of the restaurants have moved to the new building, leaving the South Wing rather empty. That has left a minimalist and surreal atmosphere to this classic Japanese hotel gem.

Best service of any hotel”
Best service of any hotel I had ever stayed at, bar none. Also rooms are quite spacious and good gym, spa, swimming pool facilities. Location ideal, within walking distance to Roppongi and Akasaka. Located in very wealthy neighborhood of central Tokyo. Although the hotel is very 60s or 70s, the rooms themselves appear to be renovated within last 5 years. At the price I received including taxes for the room slightly larger than the most basic room, I believe I received an outstanding value for Tokyo where Park Hyatt or Four Seasons Highly recommended and will stay again.

The Okura Hotel provides a respite for the weary business traveler. There is easy access to Narita International Airport with frequent bus service to and from the airport. The Okura Hotel is within easy walking distance or a short taxi ride to downtown Tokyo sites and restaurants. The Okura Hotel is the best hotel for business travelers doing business in Tokyo, Japan.

A real Tokyo classic ”
For a taste of old Tokyo and a step back into time of elegance and gracious living Okura is a wonderful time capsule. The hotel is going through modernisation so this could be the end of the 60's classic design but hopefully they will retain some of the original design features and craftsmanship into the new refurbishment. The location is calming and refreshing after the hectic day in the city. Service was impeccable, caring and attentive. A interesting selection of restaurants and bars and an eclectic clientele that appreciate what makes Okura so special. I'm so happy I chose to stay there.

Luxury Hotel,Good service at office style location”
Otherwise convinient way to go to Hotel Okura Tokyo from Narita Airport with Limousine Bus service did not serve us since we should have been waiting next bus for two hours. So, we selected train and taxi. When we did get to the hotel the service was perfect from the beginning to the end. Everything was working well and room had all facilities except wireless LAN. Normal wired LAN connection however were available. Room service was fast and easy to use. Breakfast price rates are highish even for Tokyo but quality is also perfect. Hotel is surrounded by consulats and offices and not by shops and restaurants. This makes nights quiet and since subway stations are rather near the moving around is not a problem.

Exemplifies why we love coming to Japan ”
So much has been written about Japanese hospitality and their dedication to perfection. This hotel simply exemplifies that. Though old, everything is in perfect order and the staff are simply divine. We also stayed in Okura Tokyo (the new building) and if you disregard the fact that it's bright and dazzlingly new, you get the same Japanese dedication to providing the best. One of our all time favorite hotels :)

Re visit to Tokyo”
We use to live 10 minutes from Okura and used it to catch the limo bus to the airport. so to return to Tokyo after 3 years and stay there and be close to all the amenities was excellent. We did not realise the old north wing had been demolished and a new much larger hotel,is being built for the Olympics.

Hotel Okura”
I always enjoy a stay at the Hotel Okura. In particular I really like the location - it's quite central, with 3 different metro stops nearby (1 - tameike sanno - with many lines), but it is off the main road so there's little noise. The staff is always pleasant and the rooms comfortable, if a bit dated. However, the hotel has a classic feel to it that you don't get in the newer places. The only issue I have ever had with Hotel Okura is being charged to use the pool/sauna facilities - it's not cheap! The sauna, steam room, showers, and bathing facilities are quite good, but when I went to the pool area I was chased away by the staff wielding a sign asking me to return later when it was less crowded, even though there was a free lap lane.

Exceptional”
The Okura may be one of my most favorite hotel ever. Which is weird because it doesn't have a great pool and it's not near any of Tokyo's top sites - it's a walk from an obscure subway station and a HIKE to Roponggi (not joking - one street was so steep, it could have been San Fransisco). But I couldn't stop taking photos of all the lovely midcentury details of this beautiful hotel. The Highlander bar is a trip too - straight out of a David Lynch film. And the room is so big that you can do somersaults across - plus the view is expansive (if a bit dull as the area has mostly office buildings and embassies). If you get a chance to stay here once, please take the opportunity to experience the Okura's unique charm. The staff are also super classy and can arrange for a bus to the airport - stress free, better than taking a taxi to the train.

Hotel Okura Tokyo”
My teenage sons and I enjoyed our stay. From check in to check out the staff were welcoming and professional. The location (opposite the US Embassy) is good if your business is in the financial sector, with easy access to Roppongi (walking distance) and Nihonbashi. The hotel is five minutes walk from the nearest metro station. It is quiet and peaceful, which makes recovering from jetlag easier! All in all, I heartily recommend Hotel Okura for both business and pleasure trips to Tokyo.

A Real Japanese Hotel”
Hotel Okura is really Japanese. While the hotel rooms are not in Japanese style, the appearance of the building as well as the staff inside the building are quite Japanese. I particularly like the attitude shown by the staff which is extremely polite. Overall, Hotel Okura lives up to the 5-star standard. On the other hand, the hotel is a bit old and not so close to a subway station (though still walkable to the Kamiyacho Station of Hibiya Line and the Toranomon Station of Ginza Line). Considering my pleasant experience of the stay, I shall be there again in my next visit to Japan.

Tired old Dame is going to be renovated”
The Okura is a funny old place. It prices itself pretty modestly to keep the old place ticking over, and arrival at the main wing still makes you feel quite important given all the bowing and scraping. However, the prices of the bars and restaurants have not adjusted to the new normal, and still seem expensive. The concierge is first class, and there are dozens of bell boys and girls on hand to assist with your every need. My greatest grip was that on arrival, after a long flight from the UK, I arrived to be told that although my room was ready, they would only make it available if I paid for an extra day as check-in time was not until 2pm. This must be the only hotel of this standing in the world that would try this on, and only after some remonstrating did the manager relent and let me into my room. My colleague was less persistent and she had to us the gym to take a shower - a wholly inadequate solution in the circumstances.

Hotel Okura, Tokyo”
I have always enjoyed a stay in the Hotel Okura. It's situated in a very central location, but is set back off the major streets so it has a somewhat residential feel. While the hotel is luxurious and comfortable, the decor and some of the amenities are a bit dated compared to what you might get in a newer "luxury" hotel. However, if you enjoy a bit of a retro vibe, as well as a strong Japanese influence to the International theme, this is the place for you. Personally I think the Okura has a lot of character and always feel comfortable when I am there.

Excellent choice for Tokyo”
I have not stayed at the Okura Hotel for a long time but just did for 5 nights and I loved it! Something about the place is soo very Tokyo...Great experience and great service! Excellent location near Roppongi but far enough away at the same time too. I will stay again next time I am in Tokyo on business.

First timer to Tokyo”
The hotel staff was very polite and friendly, in fact I have never experienced a service of this kind anywhere else. This includes anybody from the front desk to the room service. The restaurants were excellent, with high quality food and top service. The lobby aera was spacious and attractive, both in the Main Building and in the South Wing.

great hotel and service, location... not sure”
My husband and I stayed there the night before departing Japan, it is located in business district with office buildings surrounded which means there isn't much going on at night. we had to walk to Rappongi(15 min walk) to get some food outside. room is spacious (south wing) and mixture of east and west style. I would stay at this hotel again.
