OUTSTANDING!!! ”
Kyoto Brighton Hotel was literally in the middle of everything! Access to tourist spots were not more than 30 mins away. Great location! Before Kyoto we stayed at the Hilton Osaka at the executive floor and we "Hated" the experience. I am so glad that KBH had put in the effort in making their guest so comfortable and assisted in everything thing we needed. Looking for tourist spots in Kyoto??? KBH staff knows it all. They knew exactly every place we had on our long list. Even gave us prefer places to eat. Highly recommended! The room was so amazing I have to give this place a 5 shining star rating! Ill be back in the fall season and I just hope that i can still get a room at the Kyoto Brighton Hotel!!! WE LOVES THIS PLACE!!! GREAT JOB TO THE STAFF!!! どうもありがとうございました!

Value for Money”
Super worth considering it’s a five star hotel. Nice environment, location is a bit far but located in a quiet neighborhood, not a big problem for us as we were in a big group using a bus to travel around Kyoto. Food is impressing - both western buffet breakfast & Japanese style breakfast. Liked the food very much! Rooms are nice & clean. Hotel itself is a bit old style but very well maintained. Kudos to the polite & helpful staffs with bright smiles. Staffs at the restaurant during breakfast time were very friendly & polite too. Facility wise, no gym, no swimming pool & no onsen. For us it’s really not a too big deal (although a bit bit disappointing) as we were traveling around Kyoto during day time & only came back to hotel during night time. Beds were comfy. Overall it’s a very good experience staying in Brighton Hotel. Will definitely recommend to others & come back again for another stay in future!

Excellent service with a smile”
we loved staying at the kyoto brighton hotel. the room we stayed in was a double room and it was very spacious. the bathroom is very big, we enjoyed taking showers there. the rooms are clean and comfortable. the neighborhood is quite which was nice. the concierge was very helpful, they helped us book our restaurants, printed out maps and ordered our meals in advance so we didn't have to struggle reading japanese menus. there is nothing to complain about except that our room had remains of cigarette smell. we stayed at 4 hotels in kyoto. hyatt regency, hoshinoya and hotel granvia kyoto. kyoto brighton is the best value for money!

Luxurious Hotel with Excellent Location”
The Kyoto Brighton Hotel is an outstanding hotel, tucked away in a quiet neighborhood near the Kyoto Imperial Palace. The triple room we were given was spacious, and the extra bed was sufficiently comfortable. We decided to walk to the hotel from the Karasuma Imadegawa subway station, and the location was slightly difficult to find. If you don't have a gps device with you and/or are a first time traveler to Japan, going on the shuttle bus is recommended. The hotel includes several restaurants, although as to be expected, they are quite pricey. Be forewarned that western-style breakfast will be difficult to find outside of the hotel, however. Overall, a great place to stay in Kyoto. Highly recommended.

EXCELLENT STAY”
We had a wonderful stay at the Brighton Hotel. Everything was perfect, lovely, clean feel with very relaxed atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. We dined in the Japanese Restaurant on our first night to sample some traditional cuisine which was just such a lovely experience; the waitresses were wonderful and explained what was what! Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of Japanese and Western food. Location wise there are two subway stations within walking distance to take you into central Kyoto, but this in itself at the most is probably only about a 40minute walk from the hotel and we enjoyed just walking there and back a few times, just to take in the sites. There are always taxis outside the hotel also. Price wise, this was certainly well worth the money and we’d certainly stay here again. As with all the hotels we stayed in, we/ the hotel organised to get our heavy baggage (about 22KG) sent to our next destination– hotel or airport and visa/versa, in this case Tokyo and from memory that cost just about 2000 JPY – which was pretty much standard. This is a great service well worth using.

Holiday”
The first thing we noticed upon arrival was how friendly and helpful staff were. We were greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome. Everyone was so polite and friendly the whole time we were there that we always felt relaxed. The room was clean and very well equipped and comfortable. All the furniture and fittings were of a high quality and we never lacked for anything. The beds were comfortable and offered a good night’s sleep after a tiring day sightseeing. The location was in a quiet street away from the centre of the city so it was never noisy. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus to and from a nearby subway station all day which is very handy It was never too crowded where we were so it was easy to relax but still close to many sites of interest including the imperial gardens. We will definitely stay at Kyoto Brighton hotel again the next time we visit.

Exceptional”
We enjoyed our stay at Kyoto Brighton hotel; which is very affordable. The room was spacious and accommodated our family of 4. The breakfast was very good. We tried both the traditional Japanese breakfast (boxset) and the American style buffet. The Kyoto Brighton hotel is in a quiet neighborhood close to a couple of subway stops depending on which direction you choose to go. We will definitely stay here again!

A Gem of old-style Kyoto”
I think this was my 6th or 7th trip to Kyoto, spread over 35 years. Tokyo is a sort of hometown for this American, where I'd studied and traveled for business. Kyoto is lovely, quaint, but can be overwhelming and a bit too touristy. Kyoto Brighton combines a unique, elegant Kyoto style [completely authentic to someone who has studied Japanese language and culture for 4 decades] with modern amenities and modern style. You would feel somewhat removed from the hustle-bustle of Gion or Kyoto Station, but close enough to easily reach out. Walking in any direction from the Brighton will reveal neighborhood charm, good restaurants, a lovely college campus northeast and the Imperial Palace just 3 blocks east. I may have found my home in Kyoto.

Best hotel I have stayed in Japan!”
I was so pleasantly surprised by my stay in Kyoto Brighton Hotel. My room was spacious and well furnished. I couldn’t have asked for more. Although the hotel’s location is rather inaccessible, this is offset by the frequent and punctual free shuttle services the hotel provides for their guests. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Kyoto

Extraordinary hotel”
With comparison to big names, i am sure Brighton surpasses all expectations, hands down. 1) checked in and was welcomed by lobby greeters and the front desk lady was extremely well versed in intoducing the hotel and its surrounding attractions, with an English accent. 2) proximity to the main attraction, Sento and imperial palace. Though no close stations or subways, the hotel provides free return shuttle service to the city station, which was a 7mins comfortable mini bus service. 3) hotel decor and design is very elegant, rooms are extremely spacious with comparisons to japan hotel room sizes. The room us well fitted with a big bath and surprise surprise, they provide bath salts! As the hotel has a 29 years history, i am sure they just had their recent facelift. 4) lastly, a very big thank you for the kind service from housekeeping staff Nishida for the kind thoughts. Reason was i had difficulty disposing kids diapers and it was realised immediately abeit the stench ;) the problem was resolved with an airtight bin sent to the room the following day without me asking for help. A card was left to ensure everything was in place. Kudos to initiatives from staff of Brighton!

Great Family Hotel in Nice Location”
This Hotel looks like it is in a park setting from the pictures, but it is actually 3 blocks from the park in a average looking neighborhood. However, the location is quiet and hospitable relative to the many other 5 stars that are in the city center, where you feel like you are in Grand Central Station in the lobby. I would definitely pick this location again as on a sunny day you can hop over to the Imperial park and a nice Castle nearby, and in Kyoto, you have to get in a taxi to get to most of the sights anyway. Onbly issue was the breakfast, which was not appealing to westerners. Really enjoyed the Brighton Hotel.

Exceptional”
I am very happy with the decision to stay at Kyoto Brighton. The property and room were very modern and clean. The service, at all levels, were helpful and sincere...from room service, restaurant/bar, front desk, concierge. I gave four stars for location, but honestly, it really depends on individual preference. We were a little too far from the downtown area to walk, so it wasn't as easy to run out for a quick coffee or snack. However, the location does allow for more privacy and maintains the atmosphere of old Kyoto a bit more than the downtown area, which was, ultimately, more important for us. The property is definitely walking distance from the Kyoto Imperial Palace and several different subway stations.

Nice hotel, just not so convenience.”
It was a good stay at Kyoto Brighton. The room size is bigger than my expectation. It was really clean. Bathroom is equipped with good brand amenities. Front desk reception can communicate with fluent English, which help us a lot. Just a minor point that is the location of the hotel is not near the city center or subway station, take us 10 mins walk from the nearest station. And their shuttle bus terminates at 2200, so for those people who like late activities, need to back hotel by walking through narrow and dark street. Noted that there isn't any convenience store nearby. A good hotel, would like to come back next time when I visit Kyoto.

Great hotel”
Internet facilities in the room was good and free of charge. Room was large and comfortable. Bed was comfy and sheets were soft and of very high quality. Decor of room was excellent. It truly lives up to the 5 star rating. Bathroom had a bathtub that was partitioned glass panels and had a separate shower unit in it. One could really relax and enjoy a beautiful bath. The toilet seats were heated and had automatic wash and flush system. The mini bar was fully equipped with Japanese tea pots and cups and beatiful drink glasses. The Japanese tea provide by the hotel which was free of charge was of very high quality. Bath amenities were great and was thought of very carefully as they even provided a hair band for the ladies. I was also surprised to find a packet of clothes washing detergent in the amenity drawer. The Brighton hotel has been the best hotel we have stayed in, which truly lives up to it's 5 star rating. Definitely recommend it.

Excellent Value!”
My girlfriend and I are very happy with our 2 nights we stayed at the Brighton. Although the location isn't deal, being away from the busyness that Japan already exhibits, it was very quiet, peaceful a bad rejuvenating to have this change of pace. The staff was superb. Everyone knew how to speak fluent English and literally all the staff can be a hybrid of the front desk, concierge And bell desk. We are the type of people who value great restaurant recommendations and require extensive directions to everywhere, and Brighton's concierge and front desk did not disappoint one bit. The only con is that the location is somewhat far from everything so we ended up taking a taxi everywhere. It was no problem for us though and if you want to save money they have a complimentary shuttle to the local bus station (not Kyoto station though). Lastly, our room was very comfortable! The room came with delicious tea/coffee and bath salts for the huge tub where you can take a nice bath! +++

The best hotel i've ever stayed”
Although i just stayed one night at this hotel, but i really have to say that i'm impressed by their service. All the staff they did their good job. I enjoyed my stay at Brighton, same goes to my family! I forgot the name of the lady who can speak good English at the reception counter. I had some issues which i think i've to raise to the management. Immediately my inquiries was attended with nice manner. The hotel offer free shuttle to the nearest subway station which is very convenience. I would definitely come back to this hotel when i'm in Kyoto.

The best breakfast buffet and in-room room service dinning”
Visiting Kyoto Brighton Hotel with my wife and 2-yr old kid. This hotel is a bit remote as it don't located near a railway station, but it was fine for me as I rented a car to visit Kyoto. The hotel is normal as a hotel, with good Japanese style management. No surprise on any areas. Nothing was too excellent, or too bad for us. Just one thing surprise us was their breakfast buffet and in-room room service dinning , both were excellent, in term of food quality and taste.

Relaxing stay”
The hotel is in a quiet area of Kyoto which is one reason I chose it but that also turned out to be the one negative as not close to restaurants. The few minor problems that came up were quickly and efficiently handled. My request for a lower floor room was accommodated. I would definitely recommend the Brighton Hotel.

Great”
We were nicely surprised on arrival at this hotel, not what we were expecting in comparison to the other hotels we had stayed at on this trip. Met by friendly and helpful staff and check in was no bother at all. Our room was spacious, clean and more than we expected. Previous hotels in Japan had been tiny in comparison. Kyoto Brighton is only 5 mins or so walk to the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Gardens. There are a few other shrines etc reasonably close but it is a fair way from any where else and a taxi or use of the shuttle bus is strongly recommended. Shuttle Bus only takes you to the nearest Subway station and picks up from same spot. About 2000Y in a taxi from the main Kyoto Train Station. We enjoyed our stay.
