a wonderful stay”

we visited Japan for our honeymoon and reserved Ana Hotel in advance. Upon arrival we discovered that we ordered the wrong room type and got a standard(two separate beds) room. We asked if we could get a different room with a double bed, and offered to pay the difference. The lovely Kimono wearing staff assured us that there is a room available and that no extra charge is necessary. we got a great room viewing Nijo Castle, very big room in Japanese standards, great comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom/shower. There is a FREE shuttle bus from the hotel to Kyoto station every 15 minutes, and another one from the Station to the Hotel, again every 15 minutes. This was very helpful as it was raining like hell during our visit. our suitcases and us remained dry and it also saved us the trouble of finding the hotel (those of you who've been to Japan knows how hard this can sometimes be). We didn't eat there but the lounge and restaurants seemed great. we made some local phone calls and they didn't charge us. over all, I fully recommend this hotel for anyone in Kyoto.

Over-expectation and impressive”

ANA Crowne Plaza Kyoto was really impressed my wife and I. At first we were really afraid that it would be difficult to find the hotel and also we traveled by public transport from Train and bus but it was very easy to find. The hotel was next to the bus stop so you won't miss it. It was central of the city and one most important thing, the hotel has bus transfer to JR station. :D

Comfortable & convenience with the hotel shuttle. ”

Just 2 nights in the ANA Crowne Plaza, an excellent short and easy stay. Breakfast was good. The rooms were spacious and clean, staff was very friendly and professional, and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

A great, short break in Kyoto!”

Just 2 nights in the ANA Crowne Plaza, but an excellent short stay nonetheless. The staff at check-in were friendly and efficient as we had come to expect in Japan. However, the outstanding staff member was Simon, an expat, who was knowledgeable and helpful in organising day tours and recommending places to visit.

Luxurious hotel, across from Nijo Castle”

The Ana Hotel was more luxurious than we had expected, which is both good and bad. Everything was high class and very clean, and the free shuttle to Kyoto Station made it easy to get around. It is right across the street from Nijo Castle, and a short walk to the Imperial Castle. We explored the area and found an "alley" of shops nearby which appeared to be where the locals shop. It was very quaint and affordable. We spent an afternoon shopping there. There was a supermarket, so we were able to stock up on some food for lunch and breakfast. There was a refrigerator in our room.

Pleasant and peaceful stay”

I enjoyed my stay at the ANA Crowne Plaze Kyoto. The swimming pool is excellent. The staff is helpful and professional. The rooms were of good size, and clean. Finally, the shuttle bus to and from the Kyoto Train Station is very convenient.

Ana Crown Plaza Hotel Kyoto”

We stayed in the Ana Crown Plaza Hotel in Kyoto for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. We continued to choose ANA after we stayed there because we were really happy with the value for money. I would definately recommend to stay in this hotel. The only 'negative' point is that it's a bit far from the center of town.

beautiful, convenient, relatively cheap”

ANA Crowne was a great choice for Kyoto. They offer a fast and convenient shuttle bus right from the main train hubs. The hotel is beautiful, very high ceilings, and a good business center with wifi. It is also quite close to all of the main attractions in Kyoto. I would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were large and clean, staff was very friendly and professional, and helpful.

enjoyable stay in Kyoto”

Ana Hotel Kyoto offered us a very nice stay in Kyoto. It is very close to the Nijo Castle which provides a traditional Japanese atmosphere there. The most impressive thing is the staff can speak very good English. They were very helpful when they guided us for all transportation. Also, I like their free shuttle bus which brought lots of convenience to us. I didn't try the hot spring as it closed at 10:30pm which is somehow a bit early after shopping in downtown. All in all, Ana hotel is very good hotel for relaxation!!

Ecellent Hotel”

We had a very pleasant stay at ANA hotel. Its positioning made it very easy to explore the city, and the friendly staff assisted us wherever possible (great with English as well). Clean and spacious rooms made our stay in Kyoto perfect.

Nice and comfortable hotel.”

This hotel is very nice and large for Japanese hotels. It's an equivalent to like a Holiday Inn. Rooms are big. Nice and clean, big bathroom, comfortable beds. Few restaurants on site. Hotel shuttle which is a huge plus to/from the Kyoto station. If you don't want to pay more for hotel convenience rests on site, just take the free hotel shuttle to the Kyoto station. So many restaurants to choose from there, plus shopping. Free in room wi-fi and bottle water. Hotel is next to the Nijo Castle, so not much around there, that's why they have shuttle. But close to subway.

Excellent hotel”

the Ana Hotel in Kyoto is by far the best hotel we stayed in Japan. As soon as you walk in the doors you know your stay is going to be amazing. So many different facilities and friendly staff. I highly recommend staying here.

Great hotel and great service”

The hotel is situated directly over the road from Nijo Castle, which you will definitely want to see, and is also very close to a subway station. Perhaps the most useful transport option is the hotel's own free shuttle bus, which runs regularly each day to and from Kyoto Rail Station, where you can find plenty of shopping, food options and transport links. We found the hotel very clean, extremely well-presented and decorated and an entirely pleasant and enjoyable place to stay. The staff are friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. When we return to Kyoto, we will definitely stay in this hotel.

i guess it's one of the most comfortable hotels in kyoto. it's located near the nijojo-mae station, near nijo castle and in 10 minutes by foot from kyoto imperial palace. the staff are girls who wear kimonos. everybody speaks english. there are nice restaurant with a view at the waterfall. rooms are clean and plenty big. there is a shutle-bus from the hotel to railway station and back.

Dated luxury hotel, prime location ”

great hotel with large rooms, 24 hour reception, hotel popl, spa, sayna etc, very helpful and attentive staff, many resteraunts within the hotel although they are quite pricey, convenient shuttle bus leaving every 15 mins to and from kyoto station (leaves from outside mcdonalds). the foyer is very grand in appearance and while the room we requested was non smoking, the halls smelt of smoke which just makes you feel dirty on the walk to the elevator. great location directly opposite the nijo-ji castle and within walking distance to many other major temples and tourist spots (highly recommend hiring a bike, a service the hotel offers).

We had a marvelous stay at the ANA”

I brought my wife to Kyoto to experience the culture and the ambiance there. I wanted her stay to be the BEST ever. ANA helped a great deal to make that experience complete in every way.

Enjoyable stay at mid-range Hotel”

On balance, we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel, which is pleasantly located across the road from Nijo Castle. We slept well thanks to the comfortable bed & pillows together with a satisfactory air-conditioner. There was easy City Bus access to the Kinkakuji/Uzumasa area in one direction & to Nishi-Honganji Temple, & on to Kyoto Station, in the other. It is also only a few minutes walk to the Nijojo-mae Station on the Tozai City Subway line. The small Hotel gardens are particularly impressive, especially the waterfall & pond just alongside the Lobby. My only negative comments are that our room & bathroom, in particular, were small even by Japanese standards. Second, despite having a non-smoking room, there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway near our door, which I suspect came from the Castle Suite nearby, that leaked into our room & necessitated running the dehumidifier continuously as well as buying an air freshener. Finally, I emailed the Hotel a week before arriving to ask where my wife & I could catch the Hotel shuttle on our arrival at Kyoto Station but I did not receive a response.

Good position, spacious room, attentive staff”

The hotel looks flash when you walk into the lobby, and the staff are very attentive. The rooms are quite large by Japanese standards, though a bit dated. I got a very good deal with the room rate, but there were significant extra charges for breakfast and use of the pool and gym. The location is convenient, being about 1-2 minutes walk from a subway station, and there is a free shuttle bus every 15 minutes to Kyoto railway station.

Gourmet buffe at its best”

I was not very happy with my room which was right by the elevator, I spoke to the rooms manager who was SO helpful, Gave me a bigger room at no extra cost away from the elevators...The beautiful bar with the Water Fall and gold fish was so relaxing and the small intim bar was a lovely atmosphere and not expensive Great Staff everywhere. The taxi service was great right outside the door. Loved this Hotel will stay there again next time in Kyoto
