Lovely hotel, perfect for a relaxing getaway”

the la vista hakodate bay is just a 20-minute bus ride away from the hakodate airport. it's only 420 yen on the bus, get off at the "bay area" stop and walk across the street. the hotel itself has a lot of charm and character. the name "la vista" does not do it justice at all (what does la vista even mean?). it feels like a high-end luxury retreat. the rooms are big, futon beds are comfy, big windows for a nice view of the bay and the location is next to a small complex of shopping and the red brick warehouses. my favorite part of the hotel is the rooftop outdoor hotsprings. it's so relaxing to be out there soaking in the hotspring tubs at night. my only fret is that they put up clear acrylic "walls" surrounding the space, and all the steam from the hotspring covers up the "walls" so it kind of ruins the views of hakodate at night. buffet breakfast is also very good, lots of options.

Hidden Gem in the City ”

La Vista Hakodate Bay is a must stay if anyone ever visit Hakodate!!! Red brick decor coincide with the heritage of the surrounding warehouses. The breakfast with "all you can eat" ikura/ika/uni don is ranked top in Hokkaido. The rooftop onsen in winter with strong wind may be bit too cold for elderly though. Oh, big bonus with the unlimited ice cream bars at the onsen falicity. Overall a true hidden gem with great C/P value.

Good service, bed size and excellent breakfas”

We stayed for a night in La Vista Hakodate Bay and had an excellent experience. Good view from our room; super bed size; classic room style; staff communicated well in English; they had an awsome breakfast buffet, the best ever!! High recommand~!

Worth for the money !”

Room rate is much higher than other hotels in the area but you get what you paid for. Room is clean and nicely decorated with big window for a view of Hakodate Bay. Onsen offers breathtaking view but very crowded so does the morning buffet as we had to wait for 10 minutes to get in. However food is excellent with good quality and variety. Best thing is all-you-can-eat ikura ( salmon roe) and this seems to be one of the hotel's selling points apart from its beautiful onsen. Location is very convenient - just a few minutes walk to Red Brick Warehouse where you can dine and shop. A little walk further will take you to Hachimanzaka, a sloping street overlooking the Bay Area. Try Hakodate's Snaffle's cheesecake located in the Red Brick Warehouse and compare to Otaru's Le Tao double fromage - which one you like the most ? :)

Wonderful memories at Hakodate”

We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of thought put into making a guest's stay at La Vista comfortable. The well equipped room enhances the experiences of visiting Hakodate as one can rest and enjoy the beauty of the town even in our own room. The "hot public bath" facilties was well maintained. The complimentary taxi ride to the JR train station was welcoming gesture from the hotel to the guests. As a foreigner, I appreciated the traditional design of the room that provided comfort of a western style room. It was great!

Comfortable hotel with great onsen”

Overall La Vista Hakodate Bay is a very comfortable hotel in a good location with great spa facilities. It provides easy access to all of the tourist sites. There are good small touches such as freshly ground coffee in the room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful hotel on Hakodate Bay with hot springs, near the morning market and almost all the action.”

LA Vista is very conveniently located. It's near the red brick warehouses, near the morning market, near JR Station, near the Mt. Hakodate ropeway and lots of restaurants and stores, either right at the hotel or at walking distance. It also has a hot springs spa right on the premises, allowing for a relaxing stay. The staff is friendly and hospitable and the rates are good for the convenience, comfort and satisfaction one gets from staying at this hotel.

Great hotel with good spa and excellent buffet bre”

Las Vista Hakodate Bay is located at the centre of Hakodate. Almost all tourist attractions are nearby (within 10/15 mins walking distance. Really convenient for tourists!

Wonderful few days at the Vista”

thoroughly enjoyed our four days at thwe vista. the staff was professional and welcoming. the room was cozy and beautifully furnished, and had a glorious view of mt. hakodate and the marina. the breakfasts were expansive and delicious, and combined japanese and western items. while i personally did not experience the onsen on the top of the hotel, my wife raved about it, and especially enjoyed the views from the top. highly recommended - a top-class hotel in a a beautiful town. only down-side was the cost of a very average dinner in the hotel's chinese restaurant - there are many far cheaper and excellent restaurants very close to the hotel and these would be a better option.

love this hotel. great service. nice view out of room window (mt hakodate and bay view). room is spacious and well designed. very clean with comfortable bed. restaurants are located right outside te hotel. red brick warehouses too. highly recommend this hotel. hot spring is nice at the top floor quite a long walk from jr hakodate (especially in the thick snow as i found out myself). take tram or bus

Lovely hotel with great location and shopping”

i stayed in this lovely hotel on my last night at hakodate and it was marvellous. my partner absolutely love it because of its nearby location to the kanemori red brick warehouse shopping district and a few restaurants. love the ramen restaurant. we also walked to the hakodate market and hakodate jr station which is about 10 mins away only. hakodate beer is just a stone throw away too. the layout of the room is very spacious with separate shower and toilet. there is a public onsen on the top floor which i enjoyed using very much. great hotel! will surely come back to stay if i come back to hakodate for another visit in the future. keep up the good work!!

A nice resort hotel with hot spring and nice food”

This is my 4th time staying at La Vista Hakodate Bay, and it never let me down. Hot spring is such a nice thing especially in snowing season.

Outstanding brakfast, great onsen, beautiful room”

La Vista is a top place to spend a night in Hakodate. Rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable, the onsen spa at the top floor has several pools and views to all the city and has the most complete breakfast I have ever found in a hotel in Japan.

Great location & Value for Money”

Only stayed one night and our double room is small, but had a great view of city and mountains. Hotel is less than 1 mile from Hakodate station, which makes for a nice walk. Hotel does provide free shuttle to the station but not from. The hotel is also around the corner from the Red Brick Warehouses and the waterfront, so you’re not lacking in dining and shopping options nearby. The Hakodate Ropeway is also less than a mile away and the walk there is a pretty one (it’s uphill on the way over, so be aware). There’s also a streetcar right outside the hotel. The buffet breakfast is incredible with lots of options for Japanese style breakfast with a smorgasbord of seafood as well as a good selection of western style breakfast. Definitely not to be missed are the desserts! We could have just sat there nibbling away at all the sweets they had out. And don’t miss their rooftop onsen, which is open all night. They even provide towels and lounge wear when you head up.

It was very pleasant to stay in LA vista Hakodate. very close to every site seeing point nearby taxi fee with in 550 yen can arrive destination. Variety of food choices. Money worthy

Great room with a excellent view of Hakodate Bay”

The hotel is an half hour walk from the JR Hakodate Station, its located next to a cluster of restaurants and a local brewery so there are many food choices. Our twin room had a fantastic view overlooking Mt Hakodate and Hakodate Bay. Great experience, will definitely stay there again if I'm visiting.

Great hotel with a fantastic buffet breakfast”

La Vista is a quick taxi ride away from the Hakodate JR station or if you prefer to walk it is about 600 meters away. Please try the breakfast buffet as the restaurant provides very fresh seafood breakfast as chirashi (sushi on rice) of sweet prawns, tuna and salmon eggs as well as grilled seafood and traditional hot breakfast of sausages, eggs, croissants, Danish and fruits. The staff is attentive although the level of English is probably wanting but they do try hard.

Great location, good room setting & surroundings”

I really like La Vista location. It's really close to Hakodate Factory and surroundings (The red brick warehouses) which is the main touristy area in Hakodate. It is also a close distance to Jijugai where we can walk to the rope way station. The room is great and I had a window facing the Mt Hakodate. The bed is comfortable. For Japanese standard, I would say the room space is more than average. La vista also has great onsen bath with healing onsen type. Overall, it's a great stay. I would recommend staying in La Vista for first time visitor to Hakodate.

Love La Vista Hakodate Bay! Nice and clean room, but the onsen area is quite small and can be crowded. Breakfast can be more variety.
