"I have stayed in other hotels in Shanghai previously but this hotel I would say is the best so far in terms of location, cleanliness, helpful staff, good food served at the restaurant and also strong WiFi signal in room. This hotel so near to the Bund just 8-10 minutes walk and many shopping outlets also within walking distance with the famous Nanjing Street just a stone throw away. I will definitely stay at this hotel from now onwards. For anyone still searching for a hotel in Shanghai, I recommend this hotel without reservation. "

"First time stay in Putuo District in Shanghai and I decided to book a service apartment convenient for a family of 3 (parents & toddler). Experience: * 07/14 (Saturday) morning arrival: - Mgmt provided the first available cleaned & ready room (master bedroom w/ bathroom inside 2FL). - Informed that there was 2 different room configurations (1 is master bedroom,; 1 is bathroom on 1FL). - I telephoned the front desk to request for the other room configuration when available after daily guest checkout. The front desk agreed and advised my family to rest up inside the current room. - Late afternoon: Management called and informed that the new room was avail & will send a bell-hop to help move our luggage into the new room. - After indicating a concern with a bell-hop pressuring us for a tip, mgmt met with us to apologize and indicated this was not a company protocol. Tip was returned and provided a meal vouchers. * I decided to book 2 more evenings here. * TRUST - Modena (LINDA)"

"I see other reviews that the staffs where rude and not helpful, it was otherwise. There was definitely a language barrier, but they tried to bridge that as much as they can- with a phone app. Advise: download this iTranslate on your phone to make your life a lot easier. Now breakfast was not the best, but to what standard are you measuring- from the country where you from or from China. There’s a lot that I didn’t like on that, but there’s no stopping you to go around the corner to eat, there’s a lot of small shops- price of food outside is very cheap, but remember get the app- none of the people outside speaks other there own language. The bed was hard, it’s made of a hard spring laid with a board and covered with an inch or inch and a half of foam. For me, I liked it- good for my back, but for you who like a soft mattress, maybe you won't. Extra perks, our check out was at 12 noon, our flight was at night. They let us leave our baggage as we go out to the city-Oriental Pearl TV Twr."

"This is not the first time I stayed in this hotel and I has always loved how it is structured - You need to take some little golf cars to transfer between the buildings while admiring the elegant garden (rare scene in downtown Shanghai) and historical building. Breakfast selection is great and the staff are friendly and flexible. The only problem I had was that the room was too hot with the heating - and although I have lower it and change it to cooling, I still woke up every morning sweating and kicking away the duvets. . . it should be the central heating that was way to high and not changeable manually as I have voiced this issue out but nothing changed - at the end I just open the window at night for sleeping . . . "Okura Hotel stands out because of its staff . There are many five star hotels in Shanghai but their staff may not provide service which are comparable to the best . Our experience of staying in Okura makes us appreciate dedicated, sensitive and caring staff . When things go wrong the management is immediate at problem solving . We did not have to wait or get frustrated with our problems . Hotel facilities in all five star hotels in Shanghai are really good . However , if you want a hotel which looks after you throughout your stay and assist you with unexpected problems Okura fits the bill . We have stayed in Shanghai on and off for five years and tested quite a number of hotels ."

"I stayed for only one night, but has already decided that Yangtze boutique hotel to be my go-to hotel in Shanghai in the future. The room is very clean and spacious with a luxurious touch. Hotel staff is very helpful and attentive. The hotel is centrally located, close to all amenities, including No.1 subway station, numerous local restaurants and large shopping malls. It was a great stay and I highly recommend this hotel. The only drawback though, is that I found the bed a bit too soft for me. This is just a personal opinion as I'm not quite use to very soft bed. "This hotel is really one of the best I booked so far on Agoda! Rooms are very clean and big, with all amenities I expect from a 5-star hotel. Staff service is very friendly: on arrival the reception made me Marriott member which allowed me to get free internet during my stay, just great!!! Food was also good and all in all, I am very satisfied about this hotel. Definitely will book again next time I go to Shanghai. The only maybe negative thing is that this hotel is new, located on a street which is also new and therefore some cab drivers never heard of this street or hotel before. Best to tell them to go to DaPu Road and then turn left at end of Da Pu Road. "

"Intercontinental Shanghai Jing’an has the best concierge team. They certainly went beyond their core duties to make our stay a comfortable and memorable one. During our stay, we encountered typhoon Lekima, Lorenzo shielded us from the rain while we were waiting for our transport just outside the main lobby. What a gentleman! Jerry is an epitome of “service with a smile”. Always smiley and friendly. He helped us many times with transport arrangements and navigation. Reggie, another wonderful staff, who queued 2 hours to buy the speed train tickets just for us. We are extremely happy and grateful for this team of staff. They have made such a big difference to our stay. Besides the top notch service, the hotel has a good breakfast spread. Very clean and beautifully decorated rooms and public area too. You might think our holiday was ruined by the typhoon, however, the people have made it such a memorable and comfortable one. 👍 "
