14th - Tour Montparnasse hotels & places to stay

We stayed 2 night in BOB, overall its worth recommending. The hotel is in 14th arr., 12mins walking distant from Gare Montparnasse, near residential area, and a few nice restaurants nearby. There are metro station and bus stop which heading to Louvre with a few minutes walk. The hotel is nicely designed, staffs are friendly, overall clean and tidy. The lift is very small, I have never seen such a small lift, its quite interesting. There are no flippers provided, and provide paper cups instead of porcelain one.

I am an experienced traveller and have stayed in many hotels and there was honestly nothing I could find fault with at the Concorde Montparnasse Hotel. I arrived in Paris by air from Australia, took the Air France bus from CDG airport and it was only about 10.30 a.m. when I arrived at the hotel so I didn't expect my room to be ready until noon. However, the staff realised that I was tired after a long flight, put my heavy luggage in the luggage store for me straightaway and directed me to a ladies' cloakroom on the lower ground floor where I was able to wash and change my socks and shoes in comfort. They pointed out where I could get something to eat and drink and suggested I come back before 12 noon as my room might be ready early and sure enough it was. The room was extremely comfortable. I had intended to go to an art gallery, but it was pouring with rain, cold and windy so after my shower I went to bed and was amazed that the room was so quiet that I was able to sleep for hours undisturbed. Breakfast was served from an early hour and there was an excellent variety of hot and cold food to choose from. One of the staff kindly helped me with directions for the quickest way to walk to Montparnasse station, literally a one-minute walk just round to the right from the hotel entrance. The concierge who had greeted me the day before was concerned about me getting wet - it was still raining heavily - and got an umbrella and escorted me for a short way until I was under the cover of the station entrance. I have travelled on my own many, many times for both business and pleasure in Australia and overseas, and sometimes I have found large hotels somewhat austere and unfriendly places. However, at the Concorde Montparnasse I was made to feel at home and that the staff were concerned for my comfort. The staff were patient with my speaking to them in French which is rusty after 40 years living outside Europe and did me the courtesy of not replying in English.

It takes about 30 min to reach the heart of Paris on foot, and this is your chance to see the beautiful Paris outside the crowded Louvre-and-Notre-Dame streets. But the best piece - Montparnasse tower is just a few steps away! Wake up early in the morning and eat your breakfast on the 56th floor of Europe's former highest skyskraper!!! You'll get you "petit dejeuner" (continental breakfast) for 15 euros, and from Montparnasse tower your experience of the Eifel Tower and the whole of Paris is uncomparably moving, inspiring, unforgettable!! remember to take your camera! My Paris is most beautiful from the 56th floor of this restaurant, Le Ciel De Paris, the Sky of Paris. You'll have a sit in the front row enjoying both the Eifel Tower, the futuristic panorama of Paris, breakfast AND absence of queueing to the Eifel Tower. Montparnasse Tower offers also a 360-degrees tourist platform to view the city. As I said, it takes you about 30 minutes to walk to paris center. You walk through Luxemburg gardens and other typical Parisian streets. You walk to Invaled through Blrd Montparnasse. These streets are full of restraunts with very acceptable dinner prices. Or walk to the Paris center and take a coffee in the sunlit cafes along the road watching Parisiens go to work. Good shopping!! Galleries Lafayettes are on the other side of the street/hotel and in a street nearby you have a number of other shops like Zara, Etam and the like. The stuff of the hotel is very freindly. Wi-Fi on my phone worked perfectly and smoothly. Room and bathroom cleaned every day. Carpet on the floor, which I love. A little bit far from Louvre-and-Notre-Dame streets, though. But Montparnasse Tower - Berkely Hotel is worth staying just to be able to eat breakfast at Montparnasse Tower. Metro station is a few steps away from the hotel, and here you can take a RER train to Versaille.

The hotel is nice for the money and location. Located in the 14th Arrondisement, you have the Tour Montparnasse tower which is I believe is a 40 something story building where you can go to the top and see most of Paris. If you from the USA and places like NY or Chicago or Bosron that wont impress you as we have buildings 2x that size all over those cities. Also cemetery Montparnasse is nearby. You are pretty much between two metro stations on the M13 line. Closest one is Pernéty about a minute walk and the second one is Plaisance which is about a 4 minutes walk. Once you get out the hotel either make a left or a right and you run into either one. It's about a 10 minutes walk to the major station Gate Montparnasse where you can get the trains to other parts of France and more metro connections throughout the city. Staff is extremely helpful and always with a smile on their faces. They do speak English and try their best to help English speakers to the best of their knowledge. Lots of places to eat around Like a boulangerie across the street, a Japanese place and other places. A supermarket like a 4 minute walk if I want to buy some things like water to store in the room and a pharmacy. For a bigger assortment of places to eat walk to the Gare Montparnasse where you will have lots and lots of more restaurants to eat. I would definitely stay there again for the price and and the staff. The rooms are small but expect that in Paris. I've seen smaller rooms. Only two things I don't like. The first one is you have to give the key to the front desk each time you leave the building. I've kept it a few times and just left with it. Second, which is the worst they don't have do not disturb signs. I had the favor of having a staff walk in my room as I lie down in my boxers and say sorry as she saw me and me extremely upset and disgusting. She managed to put a small box of chips and a bottle water on the mini fridge and "slipped" away. THEY NEED DO NOT DISTURB SIGNS. Mo

We had a booked a Quadruple room which had 2 Queen size beds. Room was quite spacious, clean and excellent condition of the furniture and gadgets. The staff was quite cordial, presentable and helpful. The only issue we faced was that the lock of the washroom was not working. Also, the hotel provides continental breakfast (no buffet) at additional cost of 10 Euros per person and there are very limited items served in the breakfast.

the hotel is located near the end of metro line 4, the second to last stop, but the location is very good. there is a large grocery store, bakeries, a wine shop, many restaurants, atm's and a movie theatre near by. there is a mcdonalds and a starbucks if you feel the need , very close to the metro station. we found a laudrymat just down the street as well. it took a few minutes to figure out instead of putting your money in to the machines directly, there is a central pay station where you put your money and then enter the number of the washer or dryer you are using. the area was clean and we felt very safe walking from the metro to the hotel,even late at night the hotel is small but well kept. our room was comfortable and very clean, not huge but big enough. the hotel has a strict policy about no eating or drinkiing in your room. breakfast is available for 8 euros a day. we only had it once on the morning we were leaving because we had an early train. there was coffe or tea, juice, a bagette with butter and jam, a chocolate croissant, and a regular one as well. it was a little short on protien for our liking, a bit of cheese or some fruit would have been nice. the hotel staff were very accomodating. one gentleman, julien, was very persistant in calling the moulin rouge to get tickets for us. they were completely booked but he called several times over several days and was able to get a cancellation for us,which we really appreciated. the hotel has free wifi. we found we could connect easily on the 3rd floor with our iphone, but not with our notebook. we had to go to the sitting room off the lobby to use that. they give you vouchers that are only good for 12 hours, that's 12 hours from when you first log on, so if you check your email early in the morning, the voucher would be expired by the time we were back in the hotel for the evening. you have to log in with the password and user id each time, which is a bit of a nuisance.

The Timhotel Gaite is located in the center of Montparnasse. The rooms are small but still ok and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is quite small and does not offer a broad viarity of food. As the hotel is located in the center of MOntparnasse access to public transport is very convenient. There is a broad viartity of diffent restaurants in walking distance.

The apartment hotel was fantastic! The staffs are extremely helpful and friendly. We were a family of 4 adults traveling, for the first three night we stayed at the 2-bedroom apartment and the next 3 nights we stayed in junior suites. Both room are clean and comfy. We were on the highest floor with no lift, but the stairs were fine for us. The location is superb as well. Market right at the back street of the apartment,with ready to eat chinese/italian/jap/3 boulangerie/cafe/2-3supermarkets and MacDonald, everything is close by. With rer b, metro line 4 and another line(cnt rmb). Being used to staying at the 7th arrondisment, i was worried tgat the 14th would be too inconvenient to travel around, but it turns out 14th is less tourist-ish and way better. I would totally stay at Helzear again for my next trip in Paris.

This is a lovely hotel where I stayed for about a week in early May. I enjoyed being in this great location close to Montparnasse station, and with many cinemas, cafés (there are many Brittany crepe and cider cafés in this area) and restaurants in the vicinity. The shops are not far away either as there is a Galerie Lafayette and other large stores near the Tour Montparnasse and boutiques on the nearby Rue de Rennes. All the same, as it is located on a narrow street and overlooking a typical small Parisian square with trees, the hotel location feels removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. My room had a view on the square, and it had a funny shape. I was offered one of the more up-to-date rooms from the upper floors, but I stuck to my room as it offered such a nice view and also more space. It is Paris and, although the hotel is located on a small street, it can be a little noisy in the evening. It was not a real problem and it didn't prevent me from sleeping. The staff is friendly and will help you with any issue you may have.

we searched for a place close to gare montparnasse(6 min walk) and the deal we got was better than anything we could find on airbnb. we booked 7 months in advance of travel which probably helped. we walked to the eiffel tower, the arc du triomphe and champs elysee from the hotel and back. we did not do the continental breakfast which was an add-on or take the shuttle, preferring to walk to the gare and take le bus direct. the best restaurant we found in our 3 days was Pastamore, about a 15 min walk(make a reservation on la fourchette for a 20-30% discount

The location is great, has lots of restaurants nearby that are for locals, not tourist traps. Metro stations very close. Short walk to famous Montparnasse cemetery and the highrise Tour Montparnasse with the viewing platform. Staff are friendly and you can see that the lobby and rooms are maintained with care. Rooms are small and the lift is a bit impractical. The breakfast is a nice french style breakfast (good croissant and baguette bread, and a pot of nice tea or coffee).

I stayed at Hotel du Lion for two restful nights. The room was small but adequate for 1-2 people. It had television and a view toward Tour Montparnasse. The bathtub was welcome after a long day. Location was ideal for meetings at Observatoire de Paris, right over the Denfert-Rochereau Metro station and across from the Catacombs. Staff was friendly and spoke English. Highest recommendation!

We booked here for 1 night, satisfied with everything. Especially the bed, it's so clean and so comfortable to sleep. There's only one thing I felt a little bit been offended: The staff asked me to sign an agreement which declared that I'm willing to be charged on my credit card without ask the permission of me if the hotel found out any damage in the room. I noticed that I am the only one person who had been asked to sign this paper while other guest didn't have to do that. It scared me .Why? It is because I come from Asia?

1. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned everyday. We were also very grateful to the front desk attendant who helped us secure a last-minute reservation for the Moulin Rouge cabaret at a competitive price. 2. The hotel is literally a stone's throw from the metro station, and about a 15min metro ride from the main tourist areas. 3. On weekends, there's a local market set up on the opposite street, where you can get cheap and fresh produce.

Hotel Waldorf Montparnasse is a fine, well maintained little hotel about a block and a half from Gare Montparnasse, where we arrived from Bordeaux, anticipating an early flight out of Charles DeGualle Airport the following morning. With just one night in Paris, we were able to meet friends for dinner, get a great night’s sleep in the hotel’s very comfortable (Firm! Yay!) beds, and arrange to catch a shuttle that stops at the hotel to CDG the next morning. The location was perfect! Staff was friendly, hotel very clean. We highly recommend!

We booked 2 rooms for a 2 night stay in Paris and Best Western Bretagne Montparnasse Hotel is a good choice. It is close to 2 metro stations and has good restaurants/cafes around the area. The rooms are a bit small but they are clean and has complete facilities (hair dryer, hot/cold shower, electric kettle, small fridge). Sachets of coffee, creamer, sugar and chocolate drink are also provided in the room. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

The hotel's main feature is its location, a 10 minute walk from Tour Montparnasse and many other sought after places and well served by transportation hubs. The hotel is a little more lived in than the pictures, but we slept well and the public areas are well kept. Staff largely very helpful, apart from one man on overnight reception who gave me the impression that he'd rather be elsewhere. Overall, value for money.

The hotel has a lot of business travelers and conferences going on so the lobby is a bit chaotic. Also, the free wifi is only available in the lobby so you have a lot of people hanging around there using the internet. The location is not central, but it is a two minute walk from the Metro and there are always cabs available outside the hotel. When we arrived, the elevators weren't working so we had to take the stairs to our room. This was a huge inconvenience because it took them 3 hours to fix it and it was right around dinner time. They also did not provide any free slippers which I thought was strange for Marriott. But it was nice that they had a water and ice dispenser at every floor and a water heater for making tea and coffee in each room. All in all, I was okay with this hotel because it had all the basics that I needed- close to transportation to get around the city, English-speaking staff that give you directions, and a water heater in the room and water and ice available 24/7. Also, the concierge can provide guests with "Skip the line" tickets to the Louvre and the Orsay Museum and the price is only 3 euros more than the tickets sold at the museums. Well worth the price so you can walk right into the museum and don't need to line up. The concierge told me about this when I took a map from them and I thought that was helpful and very convenient.

Upon arrival we noticed a piece of cardboard (packaging) under a bed and black hair on both pillows. There is not enough space for 2 skinny adults and 2 carry-on suitcases to manœuvre in the room all together. There is a flight of stairs to climb to get to the reception and the elevator which means you are forced to carry your luggage. We were ok with that because we only had carry-on but I can only imagine how frustrated older travelers or those with heavy luggage will feel upon discovering this. However, the location of the hotel is ideal if you arrive from Montparnasse station. The night life around the hotel is very nice, a few really good restaurants and bars too. And we had a window in our bathroom so natural light and fresh air.

It was a great experience to stay in this hotel. Staff was very helpful and guide you for any assistance if you need to travel in the Paris city. Hotel was very clean and especially heating was on all the time. only the bad thing, there was no kettle in the room, if you want to make a tea for yourself in the room. Room was good size but only for a couple without a child. overall hotel location was good for easy access to the local transport. Definitely would recommend as a 3 star hotel.
