Its okay good for backpackers
Nature friendly, nice swimming pool for the children and a quiet place

Its okay but there are some that i dont like. It is said that there is a tv with cable, but theres no cable. Theres no rug for bathroom. Water is slow. No bidet and lastly there is one time that our key cannot open the door.

The hotel is a bit out of town, php50 to get a trike to the Robinson (mall) free wi-fi as least it works at the Robinson even though it is a bit slow.

The hotel is quiet a long ride from the airport. But it is nice. They should develop more on their landscapes and garden. Have to improve breakfast also. Breakfast is not worthy of its price.

Not a good hotel for sight seeing

too far from the laoag town proper. you need to ride a tricycle then a jeep to reach laoag city. we stayed for 4 consecutive nights and on the 3rd and 4th morning there was no water and you have to go down the hall where the phone is located(yes, there was no phone inside the room) and request for water which would start flowing after 30 minutes from the time you advised them of the lack of it. if you do not fancy walking until a tricycle comes, you will have to hire one they recommend for (php100) just to go to laoag proper (tricycle costs 12 and jeep costs 8). no cable tv, no hair dryer, no phone, no mini ref, no cabinet, no chairs, no table, no foot rug, no hand towel (note these are the amenities you normally see when you check in at any other hotel and request for a standard room) they do not have any of these. i'm so disappointed. they advertise their proximity to tourist spots but they do not know how to get there without hiring a tricycle who does not know how to get their either.

very friendly and accommodating however we did not appreciate the fact there is no water at 5am and you have to go down the hall to call and tell them of this fact and need to wait 20-30 mins for the water to start when you have informed them that you will be leaving early in the morning to start your sight-seeing.
Upon confirmation, I asked them if it is doable to serve breakfast 1 hour earlier than the usual and was given an affirmative only to find out that morning that no breakfast was prepared as requested. They advertise their proximity to various tourist spots but they don't know how to get there without hiring a tricycle that costs php150(one way only and the driver they recommended does not even know how to get to the tourist spots. We had to stop and ask the residents a couple of times)and you need to ride a tricycle then a jeep to reach Laoag city proper.
For those used to getting all the amenities when checking in a standard room, this hotel does not have a telephone in the room, no chairs, no table, no cable,no hair dryer,no mini ref, no cabinet no exhaust fan for the CR, no foot rug, no hand towel and no wi-fi connectivity inside the room. You need to go to the resto-bar or the information counter to get connection.

Hotel far away..

I really had a great time with my stay at Gertes.. The only problem I can say is that the location of the hotel is so far from the capital city. the transportation is difficult.
